Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1281: Global Manhunt Part 5

Chapter 1281: Global Manhunt Part 5

With the slain players under Zhang Jingyi’s belt, he knew rejecting her request to assist him wouldn’t be wise.

Let’s not mention the fact that he might lose out on the Resurrection Shard.

But if Zhang Jingyi were to spread how ungrateful he and the Vanguard Guild were, then who would dare to do business with him in the future?

Of course, Xu Feng was never the type to care about such things. It was simply his principle that made him unable to accept people’s favor without returning it.

Sometime later, Xu Feng returned to Carmen’s side and informed her of Zhang Jingyi’s killing record.

"Whoa, you sure know how to meet women more powerful than you." Carmen clapped her hands and praised his insight.

"Are you really praising me or insulting me?"

"Hmm, whichever one makes you feel better."

"Hah..." He shook his head in defeat. Without a doubt, Carmen was definitely insulting him in a roundabout way.

"Anyway, the traps we’ve set up have been triggered. Those Frost Grenades of yours are really too good." Carmen retrieved Frost Grenade from her inventory and smiled.

It had been quite a while since she got the chance to use these grenades.

Although they were now affordable, Carmen usually refrained from actively using too many utility tools, much less the offensive types. After all, once used, it needed to be replenished.

The time and trouble it required to do so made her automatically toss these tools aside.

"These Frost Grenades are merely appetizers." Xu Feng smirked.

"Oh, what other things do you have?" Carmen raised an eyebrow.

She was definitely intrigued by the things he brought out. Every time, there would be many surprises that break her knowledge of the Divine World.

"You want to know?"

"Of course, I do."

"Give me a kiss on the cheek." He decided to play a hooligan for once, thinking it would definitely give Carmen a taste of her own medicine.

However, he had severely underestimated her and that the short drama was all a lie.

Who said women would be shy?

As soon as Xu Feng made the request, Carmen immediately leaned forward and gave him a smooch on the cheek.

The moment Xu Feng felt her lips touching his cheek, his body seemed to go into shock.

He glanced at her in utter bewilderment.

"Y-You really kissed me?" He asked in a startled tone.

In response, Carmen looked at him as if he were sick in the head.

"You told me to kiss you on the cheek, so I did it." She replied in a most natural manner.

"Then if other men ask you to kiss them, will you also do it?"

"Of course, not!" Carmen rolled her eyes and gave him a light punch. "If you dare to spout such nonsense again, then don’t blame me for resigning from the guild. What do you take me for?"

Her mood was rather sour when Xu Feng essentially accused her of being frivolous.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng also realized how offensive his question was.

To make amends for his mistake and coax her, he swiftly brought out some healing grenades.

"What are these grenades?" Carmen held the grenades, which were listed as healing grenades. "Are you trying to tell me that I’m careless and need these items to recover my health points?"

As a Voidmancer, she was self-sustained. She didn’t really require much healing as long as she could deal damage.

"It’s not really healing." Xu Feng chuckled and explained its properties.

"These healings are actually corruption. As long as you hurled it at your enemies, their healing would be reversed and their health points would receive corrosion. The more healing they tried to use to regenerate, the faster their health points would drop."

Carmen’s eyes widened in shock.

"So you’re saying their health points would continuously drop until the corrosion effect is over?"

Xu Feng nodded. That was the whole point of this invention of his.

"Wait, isn’t this completely broken?" Carmen furrowed her brows. Based on this so-called healing grenade, their enemies would be played to death.

Their health points would repeatedly drop from the corrosion effect, but they also could not use any form of healing to recover their lost health points.

After all, healing was reversed, and they would simply accelerate their death faster if they did heal.

When Xu Feng saw her astonished look, he shook his head and explained.

"The corrosion is still considered a debuff or status ailment. As long as they have something to rid the corrosion effect, they would be freed."

Realization quickly dawned upon Carmen.

"I see... but removing them would put their spells on cooldown. By then, we can take advantage of this time to really hit the enemies hard." Carmen exclaimed excitedly.

Cleansing spells were always the most annoying because they would negate a lot of their efforts.

However, if they managed to bait the cleansing spells out early, then things would become easier.

Little did Carmen know that this was merely the surface of his plan.

"I’ve set a timer to auction off some cleansing potion that I concocted. The price is rather fair too, only 50 silver coins per bottle." He flashed a sly grin.

Almost immediately, Carmen’s mouth dropped. She couldn’t fathom that Xu Feng could be this mischievous.

To take advantage of the System Global Manhunt, only someone like Xu Feng could possibly pull it off.

No wonder he wanted them to ascend the mountain and take the high ground.

She bet he wanted them to hurl these healing grenades at the enemies and force them to purchase the cleansing potions in the auction market.

Because cleansing potions were rarely used, thanks to the existence of healers and support classes, nobody would be foolish enough to concoct large batches of them to be sold in the auction market.

"You really are a cunning four-eyed, Guild Leader. No marketability, so you decide to create one. Now I really feel bad for these enemies of ours."

Despite saying so, her wicked grin couldn’t be concealed at all.
