"Thanks for your cooperation, Vanguard Guild Captain." General Henry stood up and thanked Veronica for her assistance.

"You’re too polite, General Henry." Veronica smiled warmly. "The war is ongoing, and we must work together to confront these Colossuses to defend our home."

"Indeed, our home must never fall to those Colossuses. Their supremacy and desire to rule over everyone would simply bring ruin to our world."

Upon seeing the increased rapport from the system notification, Veronica was inwardly pleased.

She didn’t spend so much time discussing things with General Henry for naught.

"General Henry, the Vanguard Guild Leader, has returned." Right at this moment, Captain Norman arrived at the hall and reported the news.

"Vanguard Guild Leader?" Henry raised an eyebrow. "Was he harmed?"

Although he received news that their Vanguard Guild Leader was safe and sound, he didn’t anticipate the latter to return this quickly. He thought it would have taken a few more hours to escape the pursuit of a Tier 4 Summoner.

"Bring him here immediately." Henry urged, wanting to meet this figure who managed to escape unscathed against a Tier 4 Summoner.

As for the possibility of Xu Feng turning rogue or selling their empire out, that indeed crossed his mind, but only for a brief second.

After all, the deed that the Vanguard Guild did during the Colossus first appearance had long been recorded in the document.

Sometime later, Xu Feng entered the main hall alongside Carmen, Zhao Kai, and Evelyn.

"Greetings, General Henry." Xu Feng greeted him amiably without overdoing any formality.

In essence, he was now a Viscount, so he no longer needed to act overly courteous with General Henry. Otherwise, it could harm the latter as being arrogant to the point of slighting even a Viscount.

"Evening, Viscount Lin Feng." General Henry smiled, his eyes scrutinizing Xu Feng’s condition. ’Completely unscathed? Just how did he do it?’

’Seems like I was right.’ Xu Feng thought to himself when he could sense General Henry’s silent probing of him.

"Should we have a private conversation, General Henry?" He promptly suggested. His body language indicated that there was some highly confidential information obtained.

Nodding, General Henry also wanted to speak privately with Xu Feng.

Although they were in the military headquarters, their current place could still be considered public, with too many eyes and ears around.

"Very well, let’s head to my main office." General Henry said, turned around, and proceeded to walk away.

As Henry exited the scene, Xu Feng turned to Veronica and gave her a series of instructions.

"I understand, Guild Leader." Veronica nodded.

She had already made ample preparation for such an unexpected crisis in the past. Therefore, she wasn’t shocked or helpless at this impromptu situation.

"Are you really alright, Guild Leader Lin Feng?" Evelyn finally approached him and asked in concern.

"Yes, Miss Evelyn. I’ve heard from the Guild Commander that you were constantly asking about my status. You need not be filled with guilt." Xu Feng politely responded.

Had it not been for Evelyn, Xu Feng wouldn’t have even known how much trouble was coming at him in this second major update.

In the past timeline, the second major update only involved a war between humans and Colossuses. But in this current timeline, someone from Hell had also intervened.

Now, this has become problematic!

Sometime later, Xu Feng calmly bid farewell to Evelyn as he made his way to the interior where Henry had gone off to.

"Wait a second, Guild Leader Lin Feng!" Evelyn called out, only to no avail.

After all, she was halted by Veronica, who calmly inquired what to do next for their supposed raid at the Oracle Grotto.

"Miss Evelyn, shall we discuss things in another spot? The Guild Leader has informed me about the plan and how it was spoiled because of this incident. Can we move to another place to discuss when to set up another time for it, lest it might be too late once the Oracle Region becomes restricted?"

Evelyn pursed her lips. She glanced at Xu Feng’s disappearing silhouette before sighing softly.

"Alright then, Guild Captain Vortex Viper." She turned to Veronica and agreed to the discussion.

As much as she wanted to converse further and learn more details on how he escaped unscathed from a fearsome Tier 4 enemy, the matter regarding the Oracle Grotto could not be delayed either.

With that being said, the two proceeded to walk away, leaving Zhao Kai behind.

"What about me?" Zhao Kai glanced at the interior and then the outside.

How come he was dumped here alone?

Alas, his response was met with utter silence. Even a tiny breeze could be heard.

"Hah, I should probably find Lynette to soothe my wounded heart." He lowered his head and was about to log out, only to be interrupted.

"Apologies, Guild Commander Shadow Blade. The Guild Leader has ordered us to bring you back to grinding. If you can’t reach the level requirement to be promoted to Tier 2 by the end of this week, our bonus would be wiped out." Lightning Blade emerged from behind without any sound and warned sternly.
