Chapter 1399: Sunrise Inner City Part 16
Xu Feng nearly choked on his own saliva when he finished reading Zhao Kai’s long message.
Not only did this bestie sell out information about his confidential raid, but he also did it because of money and love.
How dare he!
That was supposed to be him who would do that!!!
’This Kai stole my role!’ Xu Feng hissed in a disgruntled tone. To think he was beaten by Zhao Kai in pulling such a move was something else.
As for getting mad that Zhao Kai revealed his confidential raid, he wasn’t that angry or salty.
Needless to say, if it were done by others in the guild, then Xu Feng’s reaction would have been completely different.
There was a difference in his tolerance and patience toward others versus his close friends.
Moreover, Zhao Kai definitely knew he was going to be punished for revealing that information. Hence, this bastard chose the most efficient option ever.
He directly logged out, giving him zero chance to reprimand or even list out the punishment. And he couldn’t possibly log out either to chase after him because the raid would start soon.
"What’s the matter, Feng?" Carmen asked from behind in concern. She had heard him hissing earlier. The hiss was very low, but she was paying attention to him heavily, so she naturally detected it.
"We might have company..." Xu Feng smiled bitterly and forwarded the message to her.
Confused, Carmen promptly opened her message and browsed through the content.
A few seconds later, she flashed an awkward smile. She was utterly speechless on how to respond to this message.
Because Xu Feng had practically told her about his friendship with Zhao Kai, she was certain that he wouldn’t punish him for exposing the raid.
But this kind of action was definitely harmful to the Vanguard Guild as a whole.
"Hah, I’m just going to use the ultimate tactic to deal with the situation." Xu Feng sighed outwardly and said.
"What ultimate tactic?" Carmen asked with sparkly eyes. She was curious what amazing tactic he still hadn’t shown her yet.
"You ignore and block off all contacts." Xu Feng flashed a victory hand signal and laughed.
"..."
Carmen should have known that he was going to say something like this.
Aside from being a despicable and shrewd person, he was also a troll who enjoyed messing with others.
"You’re sleeping on the couch tonight." She hissed and said in a low but subtle tone. She didn’t dare to raise her voice much because more and more members were arriving at the stable to choose their mount.
Time quickly went by, and soon, every member was smiling silly. They were happy that they were able to receive a free mount by participating in this raid.
While the vast majority were happy, some were actually wary and curious about the dangers in this upcoming raid. For their Guild Leader to set such a harsh requirement, it goes without saying that the difficulty must be insane.
And sure enough, Xu Feng’s first speech to the group caused them to shiver uncontrollably.
"Now, I’m sure some of you might have an idea of the raid’s difficulty. I’ll be honest with you all right here on the spot. Some of you may die, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make." He declared thunderously.
"Why does this speech feel oddly familiar?"
"Reminds me of a snow white person..."
"Snow white? Are you sure it’s snow white and not some dude?"
"Shush, what are you all muttering about? Is now really the time to discuss that and not about our upcoming fate?"
While the others were in disarray because of the speech, Carmen and Veronica glanced at each other.
"He’s doing this to get some revenge for losing the mounts for free, right?" Veronica twitched her mouth and asked.
"Most certainly." Carmen nodded. "Even though he wanted to be generous, his petty heart can’t just let it slide without making them feel grateful for the mount."
The two women truly know Xu Feng well. After all, this was indeed his mindset.
’Hmph, these mounts might not be worth much for me to produce, but they’re still worth a fortune if sold outside. The rest of you better contribute enough to be worthy of it.’ Xu Feng made sure to camp the contribution list once the raid officially started.
Whoever contributed below average, he was going to assign them the most tedious and boring task ever for 3 months straight.
As he flashed a wicked smile, he made sure many could see his devilish expression.
This was especially true for the four elite team leaders, who felt goosebumps and a cold chill running down their spines.
"Alright, giddy up on your mount and start following me. Those who fail to keep up, just know you will have minus contribution points off the bat!" Xu Feng announced.
Part of the training hall had people practicing mounted riding in a simulation.
Therefore, he refused to believe anyone would fail in this mount riding session.
"Yes, Guild Leader!"
"We will follow without fail!"
Soon, all the members got on their mounts. There was no exception for Veronica and Carmen either.
They each got their own mounts. To prevent others from knowing their deep ties, Xu Feng could only ride alone in his mount.
A few minutes later, the group officially set off on the journey.
As multiple horses exited the Twilight Glades in rapid succession, over at Dawnshire City, two women were in discussion.
"So he really gave us the cold shoulder, huh." Gentle Wind smiled bitterly, her eyes gazing at her bestie, Autumn Breeze.
Gentle Wind, aka Feng Qing Rou, had finally managed to succeed as the heir wanted to do something big to further solidify her position. Unfortunately, the influence of the Colossuses had made it extremely difficult.
"Yup, he really used that ultimate tactic I do on others." Autumn Breeze, otherwise known as Zhao Xin, the sister of Zhao Kai, sighed softly.
"Back then, he used to respect me a lot. But now, they’re both ignoring me ever since the Divine World launched."
