Chapter 1566: Carmen Commander Battle Part 1
Great Roc Town
The Great Roc Town was established on a neutral map near the Great Roc region that housed airborne monsters.
It was an extremely popular area for training because players only needed to worry about one Roc or two in each battle.
Yet the rewards gained from a single battle were equivalent to fighting over 200 monsters.
Moreover, the material left behind by the Roc was worth a lot of fortune.
They could be used for literally any profession, and NPCs would pay a hefty amount for materials that had barely any impurities.
And because Razor Nightmare had recognized the insane value in setting up a town here, they had spent a big fortune to bribe and establish many connections.
It could be said that the Razor Nightmare relied heavily on Great Roc Town to secure their foothold and influence amongst other guilds.
The defense and manpower they poured here made many wary and dared not to attack.
"So do you have their complete layout, NightFallX?" Carmen asked the latter.
NightFallX was an Assassin that belonged to the Neo Team under Berserker VenomPulse. He was also one of the rarely seen faces in the Vanguard Guild due to his elusive nature as an assassin.
A good assassin was one that could barely be recognized. It was also for this reason that NightFallX was assigned to personally enter Great Roc Town to investigate the situation.
"Yes, I do, Guild Commander." Still donned in a half-black mask to cover his face, NightFallX retrieved all the data he had discovered till now.
Carmen nodded and proceeded to read the data.
Overall, the defensive structure from Great Roc Town could be categorized as simple yet cohesive.
’This is just like one of the simulated battles that Feng did to me.’ She understood that the more simplistic a defense looked, the trickier it actually was to attack.
She had attempted such an offense against Xu Feng in the previous simulation and ended up losing badly.
Not only were her attacks failing to breach through the defense, but she also got herself surrounded by the reinforcements on the sides.
But most importantly, Carmen needed to account for the players currently residing at Great Roc Town.
As if they would just sit back and watch as someone else tried to destroy the town that they had paid a hefty price for.
Keep in mind that the Razor Nightmare was clever enough to be renting out houses or small rooms within the tavern for players to lodge themselves.
And each rent must be paid in advance for a maximum of a 2-week stay.
That alone was already a lot of money for even the average player.
How could they just watch as their money went down the drain?
Moreover, the Razor Nightmare would definitely deploy these scattered players by offering rewards and satisfactory conditions in return.
’A guerrilla tactic wouldn’t work either.’ Carmen glanced at the multiple players leaving the town for the Great Roc region. Each of them was at least in a party of 5, consisting of a well-rounded team that covered each other’s backs.
They were also all Tier 2 with high combat experience. The Great Roc region wasn’t something a below-average party could grind in. The enemies were airborne, which meant their accuracy and teamwork must be spot on.
Additionally, they were considered a neutral force for the moment.
Carmen couldn’t possibly bring more hostile forces against the Vanguard Guild when their goal was only the Razor Nightmare.
"What’s our inventory supplies like?" Carmen turned to another person and inquired.
The person was none other than Sweet Sky, a rising Cleric star within the guild. Her organization and insight made her prominent enough to be assigned to inventory management.
She was usually fierce and stern when the situation demanded it, but also very sweet, like her name stated, when the situation was lighthearted.
However, the current Sweet Sky was like a star-struck fan, who only knew to smile silly.
"Our inventory is stacked, and we have enough to last at least 2 hours." Sweet Sky reported and highlighted the most important utilities. Each of these utilities was suitable for large-scale and high damage.
Needless to say, the cost of them was also astronomically high.
If possible, Carmen would prefer not to waste all of it. No sane commander would use all their resources if it could be conserved for another battle.
"Hmm, with these, I suppose it’s good enough." She took a deep breath and exhaled softly.
In this battle, there would be no need for an announcement whatsoever.
The moment she laid down the guild war flag, the opposing side would already know what was going on.
To conquer a town was simple: snatch the town’s core that kept its functionality.
Of course, the town’s core would only appear when a hostile force declared an attack. Otherwise, it would be concealed and hidden in a dimension that only the town owner or those with permission could enter.
This was the system’s way of protecting the town to prevent some sneaky sly people from snatching the town’s core when the town was in a peaceful state.
"Will you be taking the lead, Guild Commander?" Sweet Sky asked nervously. She had saved so many clips of Carmen basically steamrolling everyone.
But most importantly, it was how stylish and cool she had done it.
And yes, she was also one of those who had joined the Demoness Fan Club.
A very top contributor and member at that, especially when she revealed bits that she was literally in the same guild as the Demoness.
"No, I’m only taking on the role of a commander today. The actual battle would be done by the rest of you." Carmen said softly.
"As the Guild Commander, I wish to see how great the rest of the Vanguard members could be. And you, as the rising star of the cleric group, I’m looking forward to your performance."
Sweet Sky’s eyes practically fluttered in delight when she realized the big expectations Carmen had on her. ’It’s time to heal the enemies to death!’
