Chapter 813: The Search for Týr (Part 2)
Chapter 813: The Search for Týr (Part 2)
The dusty room of that section on the gods fell silent for a moment after Vorian's decision. The weight of the challenge they had accepted hung in the air as Kaizen, Alina, Jayaa and Vorian looked at the shelf full of books containing the secrets of the gods. The dusty covers seemed to whisper promises, and the scent of ancient knowledge mingled in the air.
Kaizen moved towards the shelf, his eyes scanning the titles of the books marked on their spines. Each spine was a portal to mythology and divine power, but finding the right book among the thousands there was like looking for a needle in a gigantic haystack. He ran his fingers through the tomes with reverence, feeling the energy that radiated from them.
"Let's begin," said Kaizen, determined. "Each of us will choose a shelf and start searching. If we find something promising, we'll share it with the others. We can't afford to waste time."
Alina agreed, her eyes fixed on the books. She approached a shelf and picked up a book. Vorian, for his part, also picked up a book, as did Jayaa. Then the search began, and the silence was only interrupted by the muffled sound of pages being turned and whispered murmurs. The stacked books quickly piled up on the floor, creating mountains as the quartet plunged into the depths of the divine records.
Two hours passed, and frustration began to weigh on them. The titles seemed to spin in a blur, and the words began to lose meaning. Every time it seemed that they had found something relevant, a closer reading revealed that it wasn't what they were looking for.
Vorian, with his age and old habit of not reading much, began to feel tired. His face, marked by the wrinkles of time, showed signs of boredom as he leafed through the records in search of clues as to how to find Týr without arousing his wrath. He knew that patience was a virtue, but time was a scarce resource.
Kaizen, on the other hand, maintained the determination that characterized him, but even he began to feel the first signs of exhaustion. He lifted one book after another, only to find information about dangerous rituals and warnings about the imprudence of getting involved with exiled gods.
Jayaa was the one who, of all the people in this library, had never read a complete book in his entire life, so looking for specific information wasn't exactly something he was used to, so he quickly stopped doing that and just started playing with some of the magical objects that were scattered around the room.
Alina, lost in thought, turned a page and her eyes settled on an old illustration. It showed a mysterious figure, a man as tall as a giant, with yellow eyes and a door nailed to the trunk of a tree, accompanied by magical inscriptions and runes.
Her eyes widened, for she knew at once that this illustration was a symbolic way of representing not only the Tree of Worlds, Yggdrasil, but also a passage in it.
"I've found something!" exclaimed Alina, her voice vibrating with a mixture of excitement and relief.
Everyone raised their heads, their eyes fixed on Alina, who was holding the book with a mixture of excitement and curiosity. She realized that she was holding something more than just yellowed pages and printed words. It was as if fate itself was pulsing through those old letters.
With a slow, careful gesture, Alina opened the book further, revealing pages full of detailed illustrations and ancient texts. The letters seemed to dance in the faint light of the dusty room as she began to decipher the secrets contained therein.
"This book talks about Týr," Alina announced, her voice echoing in the tense silence of the room. "He is portrayed as the one who guided the races of Midgard, a guide between mortals and the divine."
The others moved closer, eager to absorb every word she read. Jayaa put aside her magical toys, while Kaizen and Vorian abandoned their own findings in favor of this new discovery.
Alina carefully turned the pages, revealing illustrations that told the story of Týr and its role in the epic events that shaped the known world. Among the images, one stood out more than once: Týr, tall and imposing, standing before the Tree of Worlds, with the elves at his feet.
The scene depicted the migration of the elves from Midgard to Alfheim after a devastating war between orcs, humans and other races.
With curiosity shining in her eyes, Alina began to read the ancient words that danced across the book's yellowed pages.
"Týr, the god of war and justice, descended among the elves when Midgard was immersed in the fury of war. He walked among the races, guiding them towards peace and cooperation. The elves, in particular, were on the brink of defeat in the war against the Orcs. Their kingdoms were almost in ruins.
It was Týr who intervened, leading most of them away from the conflict and guiding them to Alfheim, where they found refuge and a new chance at prosperity."
Jayaa and Kaizen's eyes lit up when they heard about Týr's intervention in elven history.
Alina continued reading, immersing herself in the pages detailing Týr's exile. "After the defeat of the orcs and the stabilization of Alfheim, Týr chose to withdraw from ordinary life. He realized that his role as guide and protector of the races was much more important than the role imposed on him as God of War, and he now wished to find his own way.
So he withdrew beyond the known realms, seeking a place where he could reflect and find peace."
The adventurers absorbed the words with reverence, imagining the warrior god abandoning his active role in the world. In another chapter, the story was told of the first time Týr realized what he was capable of and it was said that this was the moment he realized he had a much greater role.
"Crossing the realms for the thousandth time, leaving Asgard to observe a confrontation in Midgard, Týr discovered a door embedded in Yggdrasil, the Tree of Worlds. He opened it with a key that only he possessed, revealing a passage to a realm beyond mortal comprehension.
This realm, known only to the gods and ethereal beings, became Týr's new domain, where he could rest in peace without all the hustle and bustle common in the halls of Midgard or the chaos that dominated Midgard due to his influence and the order of other gods..."
The adventurers' eyes widened when they heard about the secret passage in Yggdrasil. It was as if the answer had been in front of them all along, hidden in mythology and divine records.
"However," continued Alina, "although Týr left his role and abandoned his post as God of War, he was never disturbed even by gods during his exile, because his wrath is feared even among the gods, and any attempt to seek him out without due consideration could trigger unwanted consequences for those who try."
Silence filled the room and the adventurers exchanged cautious glances. The discovery of the passage to Týr's kingdom seemed like a blessing, but the warning about his wrath made them hesitate.
