Chapter 724: Odd
Chapter 724: Odd
Theron exhaled a breath. He didn’t even feel particularly tired, but he knew that this battle was over nonetheless.
To think that his Spells had this much power now, and he still didn’t even feel as though he had brought out their full ptoential just yet.
He had thought to combined [Wind Lethe] and [Seaglass Cnanon] with his Mandates at the last moment, but he had hardly brought out their full potential just yet.
He could definitely make [Seaglass Cannon] far more powerful. He should separate the barrel into two pieces to keep the heat and chill separate for longer, and probably rotate them in relation to one another.
If he got the angle just right, they would only clash the moment they collided with an enemy. At that point, their strength would be orders of magnitude more power.
Because he had allowed them to clash within the barrel first, not only did that require more control, focus, and Mana on his part, but they dimmed one another’s light far too early.
Ultimately, heat and cold were polar opposites. When they clashed, they would obviously even out to luke warm and that was worthless to Theron.
However, there was an initial pop and boom when they first clashes, the sizzling madness caused by their initial interaction coming with quite a great deal of oomph.
Delaying that would be highly important to its power.
As for [Winding Lethe], it was a defensive method of Dark Mana, using to deconstruct and then reflect attacks. He had used the suppressing heat half of his Dark Mancy Path to strengthen it.
The more he suppressed heat, the colder an attack became, the less energy it would have. It seemed logical enough. But Theron felt like he wasn’t applying it as cleverly as he could.
But he felt that the limitation here was actually his comprehension of this half of his Mandate...
It was too superficial to accomplish what he wanted.
If Betrix knew how Theron was scrutinizing himself in this moent, maybe he woudl be rolling over in whatever grave he was left in. A Gold Mancer killing a Quasi King and yet still speaking of what he could have done better...
Ridiculous.
Theron touched down on the ground, feeling it sway beneath his feet. This place was really at its limit.
If even Betrix was worried about death by being buried down here, one could imagine that they were not only quite far underground, but the ores, metals, and earth above them was far from normal.
Even if an entire mountain fell on Betrix he should be able to walk out unscathed. Clearly... there was something different about this place.
Theron walked forward until he found what was left of Betrix. That last attack he sent out in desperation was the last of his strength. Theron had clearly felt the life wink out from him the moment he launched it.
Even so, Theorn didn’t lower his guard even when he stood right above him and could confirm that he was likely dead.
Chi.
Theron’s aura surged and he seamlessly broke into the Seventh Resonance.
’Fast...’
Even he was in awe of his own cultivation pace. He had thought it would take at least a couple weeks to reach this point, but ultimately he had been in so many battles in the last three days that he reached it in such little time.
At this rate, by the end of the week he would already be at the Quasi Cloud Realm.
Once he entered the Cloud Realm formally, his power would undergo another qualitative change and his ability to protect himself would be on a whole other level as well.
If he could enter the Cloud Realm... maybe he wouldn’t need to do all of this to deal with a Quasi King expert.
Theron shook his head, disregarding the thought. He didn’t believe dealing with a Quasi King was so easy. The Touching Cloud Realm wouldn’t be enough. He’d have to at least be in the Ascending Cloud Realm to take one on comfortably.
With a thought, Theron summoned the Alpha.
Without hesitation, the Alpha surged forward and ripped at Betrix’s dantian, taking the Core and swallowing it whole in a single gulp.
BOOM.
Theron’s eyes narrowed.
He could feel taht there was something off with the Alpha’s path. Right now, its Resonance was lagging behind. It was still an Arcane Beast and had gotten left far behind by Theron, making it far less useful. Even if its cultivaiton continued to improve, there was only so much it could do.
However, Theron wasn’t actively searching for ways to improve its Resonance because something was nagging at him.
The Alpha was originally a much weaker Manaborn creature. It had managed to improve to this point because it gained a boost from Theron’s bloodline and there seemed to be a great amount of synergy between them.
There was another piece to the puzzle as well, and that was the Entangling Path the Alpha was following now. It had to be remembered taht Theron gave the main inheritance over to the Alpha because he didn’t want to deviate from his own path and he thought it was far more appropriate for it.
In the past, he didn’t think too much of it. But now he knew that this was an inheritance that even the real Demon Corps was interested in. In fact, it was something a Demon Duke was interested in.
Theron didn’t know exactly how strong such a Demon was. But what he was sure of was the fact they were stronger than a King Mancer, a strength he couldn’t even begin to fathom right now.
Yet, the Alpha had only managed to unlock three of the nine techniques that came with the inheritance until now, leaving another six still untapped.
Now... why was that?
Was the Alpha just too weak?
And if it had Theron’s bloodline now, at least in part, why couldn’t it improve its Resonance as easily as Theron seemed to?
BADUM.
