Chapter 730: Reversing Heaven

Chapter 730: Reversing Heaven

"Stay back. He’s not someone you can handle," the silver fox said slowly, taking a step forward.

The youth of the Umbra Clan didn’t say a word. His expression hadn’t changed much, but deep within his gaze, one could see a hint of seriousness that hadn’t been there before.

He wasn’t used to coming across talents that were superior to him—at the very least, not ones whose cultivations were far beneath his own.

The silver fox raised a hand. Unlike the Flux Mancers, he didn’t need to get close to Theron. This distance was enough.

A glow pulsed in Theron’s eyes, his mind working in overdrive. This was the first time he was going to battle against someone who seemed to prefer distance. He had little experience in such a thing.

In that case...

Control.[Dark Confluence].

WHOOSH.

Winds kicked up in the surroundings and then, all at once, they darkened, becoming currents of blackness that blocked out the very stars themselves.

The sun vanished from the skies, and the entire battlefield was swallowed into the shadows.

The silver fox’s pupils constricted, and he unleashed his Third Eye, trying to counter Theron’s Domain. But to his shock, it felt like his senses were falling into an endless abyss.

His eyes widened. "VOIDWROUGHT!"

His voice boomed, but the words he spoke fell into a quagmire. He felt his ability to cast Dark Mana restricted. But Theron’s... Theron’s reached an even higher level.

[Eclipse Rain].

The dome of the domain shook, and then dense clouds of black began to form. A dark rain fell from above, pelting downward with a heavy heat. It felt as though acid itself was falling from the skies.

The silver fox cursed, immediately turning back and rushing toward his young master. However, when he reached out, his hand actually passed through the air.

His expression changed.

"Young Master Venicin!" he roared.

But his voice fell on deaf ears once again.

Just because he had formed four Mandates didn’t mean Theron had lost his control over the individual Laws. In fact, directing the Laws now was only all the easier.

He hadn’t touched the Umbra Clan young master at all. In fact, the latter wasn’t even in the domain. Theron didn’t feel like dealing with whatever hidden protective treasure they might have.

But that didn’t mean he couldn’t make the silver fox think he was.

The [Eclipse Rain] continued to fall from above, pelting with strength and purpose, wave upon wave corroding the protective Mana Armor the Dark Mancer wore.

Panic began to set in for the silver fox. He suddenly realized he couldn’t quite tell which way was up and which was down. Laws of Reflection, Flow, and Slice were eating into him. Then there were more complex Laws he didn’t even understand, like the Law of Absolute Chaos, that only made things more chaotic.

He couldn’t even try to control the Dark Mana in the air because it was laced with Mandates and Laws he had never personally comprehended—never mind the fact Theron was a Voidwrought.

He was so focused on trying to comprehend and find a way out of the Dark Mana that he didn’t even feel the formation of a completely different Spell.

A Spell of Water Mancy.

[Hydrosphere].

The silver fox took in a large amount of water into his lungs before he realized what was happening.

Pain ripped into his skin, Mana drained from his dantian, his body spinning and turning all sorts of ways. The disorientation from the previous domain only became worse, his Third Eye becoming more and more useless with every passing moment.

Chi.

His head was ripped off his neck before he could even make a face of regret, his eyes wide open. In the end, he didn’t get another chance to lay eyes on Theron’s face again.

...

Venicin stood outside the dome of black with a solemn expression. He never expected things to go like this.

’Something is happening.’

The domain pulsed and began to fade away. The weight in his heart slowly faded...

Until he saw the silver fox’s head rolling to his feet.

The distance between himself and Theron had suddenly shrunk considerably, the latter standing barely three meters from him and still walking forward.

Venicin’s pupils constricted, and he explosively retreated, but Theron didn’t even look at him. Instead, he walked up to the cage the Alpha was in and reached a hand between the bars. He stroked the latter’s fur, his hand coming back with caked and flaking blood.

Theron pulled out three Cores and rolled them toward the Alpha, setting them near its mouth.

For a moment, it seemed as though Theron wasn’t even aware of Venicin’s existence. There was a boiling rage in him, but one wouldn’t have guessed by his appearance in the slightest.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

Theron looked up. In the far-off distance, he could feel figures approaching.

He had already sensed it before, when the silver fox touched his ring. Though he could have stopped it, doing so would have made the latter far more cautious and thus much more difficult to kill.

Slowly, Theron took out a pill he had on his body. This pill was none other than the very same pill he had exchanged for using Chen’s line of credit.

It was known as the Reversing Heaven Pill, a pill so valuable it was said to be capable of bringing someone at the Peak of the Dome of Heaven Realm back from the brink of death to full health in a single moment.

In fact, it was so powerful that its healing effects weren’t a one-time matter, but instead lasted for as long as several days depending on how often it was used.

Essentially, it could be used either as a healing pill or as a boost to one’s healing factor for a prolonged battle.

Theron would have preferred to not use it right now... but it seemed that he didn’t have a choice.

BANG.

The pill exploded when it hit his stomach and, in a surge, he broke into the Eighth Resonance in one go. But as though his body was responding to a great amount of energy, his breakthrough didn’t stop there, shooting through to the Ninth Resonance in a single burst.

Theron slowly stood, his injuries healing in real time.
