She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1274 - 1344: Discovered

Chapter 1274: Chapter 1344: Discovered

"What’s wrong, Second Young Master?" Du Xiaosong was quite frightened by him.

"I know why they’re greeting this big tree. They’re not greeting the tree, but the people who once died beneath it."

"That was..." Du Xiaosong already figured out who it was, but could not say the name no matter what.

Meng Ping spoke to himself, "I’ve seen the reports and summaries from back then. My brother was the last to lean against a tree and pass away." He held a telescope, trying hard to see the tree clearly.

Finally, Xu Qigang moved to one side, and he could clearly see the dense bullet marks on the tree.

Several years had passed, and the bullet marks had been altered by the tree’s growth, but remained distinctly visible.

Xu Qigang waved in the direction of the telescope.

Du Xiaosong looked like he had seen a ghost, "Is Captain Xu waving us over?"

"I told you he noticed us long ago, but you didn’t believe me." Throughout the journey, Meng Ping wondered how he could follow Xu Qigang, given his own physical condition. No one from the Four Regions would believe it.

"Alas..." Du Xiaosong sighed. All along, he was rather pleased with himself. Unexpectedly, it was a wasted celebration.

Xu Qigang and Chen Yingjie sat on the ground, silently puffing away. He had quit smoking, but after Xiao Ning left, he picked it back up, smoking more heavily than before.

Meng Ping and Du Xiaosong walked over like little wives, and stood in front of them.

"What a coincidence to run into you guys here!" Meng Ping greeted shamelessly.

Xu Qigang had no expression and still said nothing.

Chen Yingjie flicked the ash from his cigarette and spoke the words Xu Qigang would say, "We’ve been waiting for you all along. You’re so slow, I almost wish I could go back and shoot both of you."

"Hehehe..." Du Xiaosong laughed foolishly, "Thank you, Captain Chen, for going easy on us."

"This is the place where the Young Chairman sacrificed himself back then. As his younger brother, it’s right for you to pay tribute. We’ve brought you here, so after paying respects, let’s return immediately."

Now Meng Ping finally understood why Xu Qigang realized who he was and didn’t force him back.

He said nothing, looked around crisply, and then rebelliously stated, "I have no reason to pay homage to this cursed place; I just want to blow it flat."

As he said this, he began to move. His entire equipment came from American goods brought over from Hong Kong. Bombs, grenades were all fiercely complete. As soon as his words fell, a grenade was thrown.

Xu Qigang’s face changed. He immediately got up and tackled Meng Ping to the ground.

Chen Yingjie was a moment slower; he pulled Du Xiaosong and followed to the ground.

Then came a thunderous explosion, raising dust several feet high and sending fragments that blew several small trees into the air.

When everything finally quieted down, Xu Qigang stood up and kicked Meng Ping fiercely, "Are you looking for death?"

"I’m just pissed off." Meng Ping rubbed his kicked belly and accused, "You dare hit me where my brother died? Have you forgotten your promise to him back then?"

Xu Qigang glared at him fiercely. If not for his promise to Meng Fan, he would have had the mind to kill Meng Ping by now.

"Let’s go." Xu Qigang took the lead, with Chen Yingjie at the rear, flanking Meng Ping and Du Xiaosong in the middle, all four swiftly leaving.
