She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1879 - 25: Gu Sinian

Chapter 1879: Chapter 25: Gu Sinian

"Let me introduce you to my brother, Gu Sinian."

The rebellious youth looked down at Gu Yunbo, his sharp brows and eyes penetrating to the bone, leaving no place to hide.

In her past life, Gu Yunbo wasn’t familiar with this heir of the Gu Family. She spent all her time thinking about revenge, indifferent to the surrounding noises. Now in hindsight, it was really a misstep not to have learned a bit more about such an important figure.

"Hello." Gu Sinian’s voice carried an air of carefree arrogance; he had no interest in little girl tricks. He only played along because his sister liked them.

"Hello." A hint of caution slowly rose in Gu Yunbo’s heart, and she chose not to shake his hand.

The introductions had taken too long; everyone was a bit impatient and started calling to resume the game. The women continued to cheer enthusiastically in the small square, most of it directed at Gu Sinian.

Gu Yunbo was dragged along to watch, meanwhile Shi Chunlan, who had always been by her side, was soon forgotten by Gu Yuehong and seemed cut off in another world.

"Chun Lan, come over here and sit," Gu Yunbo called.

"No need, she has to go home!" Ping Simin interrupted, "Chun Lan, aren’t you going home?"

"I am, my mom’s calling me to go home to cook." After saying this, she walked away awkwardly.

Laughter erupted from the crowd behind her.

Sitting among the crowd, Gu Yunbo pressed her lips tightly together, feeling a bit of guilt towards Shi Chunlan. Gu Yuehong was brought by Ping Simin to deal with her, innocently dragging Shi Chunlan into it was her mistake.

"Sister, where did you go? How come you’re coming from outside?" Ping Simin recalled Gu Yunbo’s obvious reluctance earlier but couldn’t suppress her urge to laugh.

"Went to the Provincial Rescue Center."

"What did you go there for?" Ping Simin’s voice suddenly sharpened, "Did you go to see my brother? How shameless can you be?" The family parents were bribed by her, and not satisfied with that, she even wanted to bribe the brother—never seen such shamelessness.

Gu Yunbo turned to glance at her, then shifted her gaze back to the court, pretending to calmly watch the game.

"I’m asking you! Answer me!" Ping Simin screamed, "Did you go to see my brother?"

"That’s your brother." She softly replied, "Don’t worry, no one can take him, I won’t either."

"I see you do want to take him, you can’t stand others being well, wanting to snatch everything away."

Gu Yunbo, unable to hold back anymore, reached out to clutch Ping Simin’s soft neck with her palm. A strangulation chokehold, skillfully applied; just a bit more force could easily snap the neck.

Ping Simin’s mind went blank, her vision darkened, unable to utter a word.

"Ah..." The girls cheering were all shocked into screaming.

Gu Yuehong remained the most composed, "Yunbo, what’s wrong with you? Let go! Simin is dying! Let go quickly."

"She’s gone mad."

Gu Yunbo ignored her, her cold eyes sweeping over Ping Simin’s face repeatedly. The long-buried hatred screamed from deep within her heart, so intense it was uncontrollable.

Ping Simin was meant to die; none of the four members of her family were worth keeping. Who was there to compensate for her mother’s half-life of suffering and lifelong resentment, and her own unhappy childhood?

"Let go," the rebellious youth’s voice rang above her head, Gu Sinian, his hand damp with sweat, grabbed Gu Yunbo’s slender wrist. With force, he could easily snap her wrist.
