Chapter 953: Chapter 1003: Settled Within a Day
Su Hai was slightly surprised, and at the same time, amused by the term “uncle.” The more he looked at Liu Yilan, the more he found her pleasing to the eye. She truly was insightful, understanding exactly what he was thinking.
“It’ll be done within a day.” Su Hai made a gesture indicating it wasn’t a problem.
Sheng Ning raised an eyebrow, not expecting to conveniently solve another issue. Is this the benefit of power? No wonder it’s so addictive!
“Actually, I didn’t come to you for this matter.”
“Go ahead.”
Thinking about An’an’s tragic experiences in her past life, Sheng Ning’s face was filled with intense hostility. Liu Yilan and Su Hai exchanged glances, both seeing the astonishment in each other’s eyes.
Both of them realized that this incident had changed Sheng Ning a lot; she was previously good at being gentle yet provocative.
“Back home, there is a Mayor Liu who got me the spot at the General Union.”
“I know, go on!” They had looked into this at the time but didn’t pay much attention. Now it seemed like they had missed something important.
“At the time, the condition for his help was for my sister to marry into their family to his foolish son, who has violent tendencies, loves to beat people, and is very temperamental. His wife is even worse, arrogant and unreasonable.”
As Sheng Ning described the events, Su Hai’s face grew increasingly grim.
Sheng Ning recounted the rough outline of the situation, including her breaking off the engagement and Xu Qigang settling the debt afterward. She could endure all of this, but whenever she thought of how An’an was tortured to death by their whole family in her past life, she couldn’t swallow that anger.
Not dealing with them now would mean other girls might suffer the same fate, so she considered it a side task.
“I want their family of three to be destitute and in extreme pain. I want Mayor Liu’s wife’s left hand, and his son’s right hand.”
Mayor Liu is left-handed, and in the past life, it was these two who repeatedly abused An’an.
Su Hai stared blankly, caught off guard for the first time in his life.
“Oh! But don’t play them to death, I know you’re great at that.” Sheng Ning stood up, leaned slightly forward, and gave Su Hai a glance—contemptuous and arrogant, as if she had seen through everything.
For the first time in his life, Su Hai felt completely seen through by someone.
Watching Sheng Ning and Liu Yilan leave, Su Hai called Sun Gan in, delegating the task to him immediately.
“You handle this personally, right now, don’t waste a single minute.”
“Yes!” Sun Gan left without a word.
Sheng Ning was right; he was indeed very skilled at dealing with such matters—far more than most, even his older brother couldn’t compare.
Leaving the Trade Union Mansion, the two headed back to the cinema, and the timing aligned with what they had initially anticipated. They kept silent on the way, and as they were about to enter, Liu Yilan suddenly grabbed her hand.
“Ningning,” she called her by her nickname gently.
“What’s wrong?” Sheng Ning assumed Liu Yilan understood her without needing an explanation.
“Nothing!” Liu Yilan shook her head; no words were needed between them. She had just felt a sudden impulse.
“Ningning, I’m leaving.”
“Where? Aren’t you going to wait for everyone?”
“No, I’m going to Austria.”
“So soon?” Sheng Ning widened her eyes in surprise; she thought it would take at least six months for Liu Yilan to leave.
“Now the entire Liu family is working hard on my overseas study, so everything’s moving quickly.” The whole family had pinned their hopes on her, making her feel for the first time that music was not just her dream but a shared awakening for the entire family.
