"Have you eaten yet? I haven’t cooked at home!" Sheng Ning had bought many things in the city, leaving the home all messy. Because she had previously agreed on a time to call her parents, she hadn’t gotten around to tidying up.
"Not yet, we’ll eat at Wu Houhai’s house today."
"Isn’t that inappropriate?" Sheng Ning felt rather embarrassed, "After we got married, technically we should host a meal for everyone, but we haven’t done it even once! Going over to mooch off dinner again, wouldn’t that make me seem lazy?"
She was planning to live in the Family Compound in the future and couldn’t afford to accidentally get a bad reputation.

"Alright, let’s go freshen up first."

"What’s up?" The man rolling up his sleeves froze, why wasn’t he allowed to go home?

"Why... are you crying?" The two stood at the doorway, while neighbors quietly observed them. Xu Qigang wanted to pull her into his arms but was pushed away by Sheng Ning.
"Stop crying." He whispered, "Tell me what I did wrong, I’ll change next time, alright? Even though, honestly, I didn’t really do anything wrong." He cared for his wife, but he still held onto his principles.
He apologized, but deep down he believed he hadn’t erred.
"Why apologize if you did nothing wrong?"
"I’m only sorry because I care about my wife, apologizing is the first step." Xu Qigang turned around and glared at the surroundings, scaring the spectators into quickly closing their doors and windows.
Movements swift, fearful of being reprimanded by the Captain later on.
Sheng Ning rubbed her eyes herself, "I’m fine, you go sit at Wu Houhai’s for a bit, it’s almost time to eat. I’ll tidy up the house first, once that’s done I’ll join you. That way we can live here after dinner."
"Alright, that’s fine too." Xu Qigang looked at the sky, the sun had set, and the spring dusk lingered longer. Without his watch, left behind in S Country, he judged the time by the light.
Sheng Ning noticed his actions, her eyes stung even more.
