Chapter 449: The Succubus’s Prey

"I know I can’t do much for you," Miranda said in a serious tone, "but if you ever need anything at all... you can come to me. You have my word."

Alex looked at her for a moment before replying.

"Ma’am, please don’t say that," he said calmly. "I already promised you I would look after him. You don’t owe me anything. What I did... it was just something I felt I should do. So please, don’t feel like you have to repay me."

Miranda stared at him for a few seconds. A small, genuine smile appeared on her face.

"You’re a good kid, Alex," Miranda said softly. "That’s why I’m insisting."

She leaned back in her chair and looked at him seriously.

"I know you already have your own connections," she continued, "but I can still help you in many ways. People fight tooth and nail just to get a foothold in this university. As the President, I have access to certain privileges that most people don’t. If you ever need anything... whether it’s related to your studies, personal matters, or even something outside the university... don’t hesitate to come to me."

Her tone was calm but firm.

"I may not be as powerful as some of the big families out there, but within these walls, my word still carries weight. And I don’t forget the people who’ve helped me."

Alex looked at her for a moment before giving a small nod.

But internally, he was clearly satisfied.

Alex nodded as he listened to her.

’James didn’t let him go easily,’ he thought. ’Catherine must have used some healing medicine or something to help him recover this fast.’

"He’ll be fine, don’t worry, Ma’am," Alex said calmly. "Just give him some time."

Miranda looked at him and smiled gently.

"I hope so."

Alex picked up the envelope containing his Hall Ticket from the table and stood up.

"I should get going now. The exams are coming up soon."

Miranda nodded.

"Alright. Go and study well. And remember what I said."

Alex gave a small respectful nod and turned toward the door.

As soon as Alex stepped out of the office and closed the door behind him, Natalia’s last words echoed in his mind.

"I hope you like... mothers of your friends."

"I’ll be waiting beside this office."
