Chapter 471: Convocation Day(6)
Chapter 471: Convocation Day(6)
The applause for Danny had barely begun to fade when Victoria Blackwood’s voice rang out once more, calm and resonant.
"The student who secured the third rank... is Mike Carter."
The Grand Convocation Hall fell into a stunned silence for a split second before exploding into even greater chaos.
Whispers turned into outright bewildered murmurs. Students looked at each other with wide-eyed disbelief, many openly exchanging shocked glances as if asking the same silent question — ’What the hell is happening?’
First Alexander Hale.
Then Daniel Morrison.
And now... Mike Carter?
The trio that many had once dismissed as average or scholarship kids had completely swept the top three ranks. It felt surreal. Almost impossible.
Mike stood up slowly, a bright, cheerful grin spreading across his face. He looked around at the sea of stunned expressions... envy, confusion, and reluctant awe directed straight at him.
For the first time in his life, he was being envied this intensely. The feeling was intoxicating.
’All that hard work...’ he thought, satisfaction blooming deep in his chest. ’And a little help from my enhanced memory, of course.’
He walked toward the stage with cheerful, confident steps, waving casually at a few friends along the way. When he reached Victoria, he accepted the degree folder with genuine enthusiasm, flashing her a bright smile.
"Thank you, Ma’am!" he said cheerfully.
Victoria returned his smile with a graceful, knowing nod. There was no surprise in her eyes, only quiet satisfaction and pride. She had expected nothing less.
As Mike turned to face the audience, holding his degree high for a moment, the murmurs only grew louder. The scholarship trio had just rewritten the hierarchy of Blackwood University in one unforgettable night.
Marcus Steele sat rigidly in his seat, his eyes bloodshot with rage. The entire ceremony had become nothing short of a horror movie playing out in real time.
’What the fuck is going on?’ he thought, his jaw clenched so tightly it ached. ’Are the results rigged?’
Tyler and Robert, seated on either side of him, looked equally shell-shocked. They could only nod silently in agreement, too stunned to speak.
All three of them glared murderously as Mike walked back down the steps, cheerfully waving his degree like he had just won the lottery.
The moment Mike sat down beside Alex, the entire group... Alex, Danny, Mike, and the others... erupted into quiet, joyful celebration.
Their cheerful vibe was like salt in an open wound.
"That motherfucker..." Marcus cursed under his breath, his voice dripping with venom.
He leaned forward, fists shaking. ’Don’t tell me the next rank is Sarah...’
As if the universe itself was mocking him, Victoria Blackwood’s clear voice echoed through the hall once again.
"Fourth Rank... Sarah Blake."
Marcus’s eyes widened in pure fury.
"What the fuck is going on?!" he snarled, louder than he intended. In a fit of rage, he slammed his fist hard onto the armrest of his chair.
The loud thud drew several startled glances from nearby students. A few turned around and stared at him with strange, wary expressions.
Realizing his outburst, Marcus quickly straightened up and looked forward, pretending nothing had happened. His heart pounded in fear as he checked the stage... thankfully, neither Victoria, Catherine, nor Miranda seemed to have noticed.
But someone else had.
Alex slowly turned his head and looked straight back at Marcus and his group. Their eyes met.
A cold, mocking smirk curled on Alex’s lips... calm, condescending, and full of quiet triumph.
’This is just a trailer, Marcus,’ Alex thought, locking eyes with him from across the hall. ’You have a lot more to face today... I only hope you don’t break before seeing it all.’
The promise in Alex’s cold, mocking gaze was crystal clear. Marcus’s face twitched with barely contained fury.
Alex then calmly turned his attention back to the stage as Sarah ascended the steps. She accepted her degree from Victoria with graceful poise and a bright, genuine smile.
In the family balcony, Mr. and Mrs. Blake were visibly emotional, their faces glowing with overwhelming pride and joy as they watched their daughter shine.
Suddenly, Alex’s phone vibrated twice in quick succession inside his pocket.
’Hm? Who this time?’ he wondered, subtly pulling it out under the cover of the ongoing ceremony.
Two messages from unknown numbers.
"Congratulations on your incredible achievement, Alexander. You looked so commanding up there... My body still hasn’t calmed down. When can you spare some time to focus on me instead of these little girls?"
"Seeing you take first place made me so wet I can barely sit still. You’ve completely ruined me, Alex. Please... tell me you’ll give Mrs. Chen some personal attention soon. I need it more than they do."
A faint, dangerous smirk touched Alex’s lips as he immediately glanced toward the VIP family balcony.
There they were.
Tyler’s mother, Mrs. Luciana and Mrs. Regina Chen, Robert’s mother were both staring directly at him. Their cheeks were flushed a deep crimson, eyes glazed with raw, unfiltered lust.
Luciana chest rose and fell rapidly, her elegant dress straining against her heavy breathing. Regina subtly pressed her thighs together, biting her lower lip as she watched him, her fingers gripping the edge of her seat tightly.
They looked like they were one spark away from losing control completely.
Alex smirked, leaning back casually in his chair. He wasn’t shocked by their states at all. In fact, he had expected this... just not quite this early.
’Can’t control any longer, huh?’ he thought, eyes slowly dragging over their flushed faces and restless bodies. ’Going as far as finding out my contact info... How desperate can you two get?’
Before he could dwell on it further, a familiar blue screen flashed in front of his eyes, its glow casting a cool light across the heated atmosphere.

Alex leaned back in his seat, a dangerous glint in his eyes as he read the messages again.
’Perfect,’ he thought coldly. ’Two desperate, influential married women... I can use them beautifully.’
A cold smile touched his lips. ’Robert and Tyler... you two bastards have no idea what’s coming. Your own mothers will be the first ones to help me put you in your rightful place. These two are just the opening act.’
He quickly typed a reply and sent it to both numbers.
"How could I possibly let two such beautiful and elegant ladies wait? I’m always available for women who know exactly what they want. Let’s meet soon... I’ll make sure it’s worth your while.
He sent the message and casually looked back toward the VIP balcony.
The effect was immediate.
Both Mrs. Luciana and Mrs. Regina’s eyes sparked with fresh hunger and excitement the moment they read his reply. Their flushed faces grew even hotter.
Without wasting another second, the two mature women stood up gracefully.
They leaned down and whispered something to their husbands... probably an excuse about fresh air or a phone call...before slipping out of their seats and heading toward the exit of the grand hall.
Alex watched them leave with a satisfied smirk.
From the corner of his eye, he noticed Robert and Tyler frowning deeply as they watched their mothers walk away. At first, they looked disappointed, as if their mothers were leaving because they were embarrassed by their low rankings.
But then something clicked.
Both boys turned their heads, following their mothers’ earlier line of sight... straight toward Alex.
Their expressions shifted from confusion to dawning horror. A bad, sinking feeling settled deep in their hearts as the pieces slowly fell into place.
Alex waited patiently as Sarah descended the steps, her face still glowing with pride. When she reached their row, he stood up with a warm smile and gave her a light, congratulatory hug.
"Well done, Sarah. You deserved this," he said sincerely.
Sarah beamed, cheeks slightly pink. "Thank you, Alex. And congratulations again on first rank. This is unbelievable for all of us."
Alex nodded politely, then glanced at Danny and Mike. "I have something urgent to handle. I’ll be back soon. Save my seat."
Before anyone could ask questions, he smoothly slipped out of the row and began walking toward the exit of the Grand Convocation Hall. His black-and-gold gown flowed behind him as he moved with calm, purposeful strides.
Tyler and Robert, still seated a few rows away, noticed him immediately.
Their frowns deepened. They exchanged a quick, alarmed glance, the same dark fear mirrored on both their faces.
’What if...?’
The thought sent a chill down their spines.
They didn’t even want to complete it. The possibility that their mothers had left because of Alex... that he was going to meet them... was too humiliating, too infuriating to accept.
Both boys instinctively started to rise from their seats, fists clenched, ready to follow him.
But they couldn’t.
Their names hadn’t been called yet. Leaving now in front of the entire hall... in front of their parents, the faculty, and the Blackwood family... would only draw more unwanted attention and shame. They were trapped.
Tyler’s jaw tightened painfully as he watched Alex’s confident figure disappear through the grand doors. Robert’s face turned pale with a mix of rage and dread.
The sinking feeling in their chests only grew heavier.
