She Used Me for a Dare… Now I Own Her Mother

Chapter 551: The Dance No One Dared Ask For

Chapter 551: The Dance No One Dared Ask For

The roar of cheers that rippled across the floor hadn’t come from a brawl or a spilled bottle. It was aimed squarely at the foot of the elevated prime booth.

Reclined against its deep velvet cushions, Violette Valenne drew every eye in the room without lifting a finger.

Around her sat an escort of stunning, polished women, yet none of them could compete with the gravity she commanded. Every man on the floor had spent the evening stealing glances in her direction, throwing fortunes at the bar just to linger nearby. She was the undisputed desire of the room, the kind of woman who could ruin a man with a smile.

Yet despite that magnetic pull, no one had dared to cross into her corner. Her cold, piercing aura made it clear that stepping into her space was a line you did not cross without permission.

Until now.

At the foot of the short steps leading to her booth stood Raymond Cole.

The loud, drunken swagger he had put on earlier had vanished. His spine was straight, his chin lifted, and his neatly trimmed beard framed a face that was completely calm.

With one hand resting casually behind his back, he extended the other forward in a crisp, open gesture. It was a formal, gentle request... an invitation for a dance, offered with the unhurried ease of a gentleman greeting an equal.

The floor around them erupted into murmurs and disbelieving cheers.

To the crowd watching, it seemed like madness. Men with ten times his current fortune and half his age hadn’t found the nerve to step onto those stairs, yet here was an aging businessman whose empire had already fallen apart, boldly asking the most untouchable woman in the building for a dance.

A few yards away, the young man who had lured Cole’s two dance partners away leaned against a tall cocktail table, soaking in the spectacle.

An arm was draped lazily over each girl’s shoulders, pulling them close against his sides.

"Would you look at this old fool?" he chuckled, smirking down at them as his fingers idly traced a bare shoulder. "Losing the two of you bruised his fragile little ego so badly, he thinks aiming for the queen will make everyone forget just how pathetic he is."

Both women giggled into his neck, their eyes sharp with petty disdain as they looked down at the older man they had abandoned only minutes before.

"Just wait for it," the young man added, shaking his head with vicious amusement as Cole remained standing there, hand still patiently outstretched in the dim light. "Security’s going to toss him out on his neck any second now. But damn it, you’ve got to give the old fossil full points for his courage and completely unfiltered stupidity."

In the prime booth, the shadows shifted.

Violette Valenne set down her crystal glass with a quiet, deliberate clink that seemed to cut straight through the heavy bass rattling the floorboards. Her private guards didn’t step forward. No security moved to throw the old man down the stairs.

Instead, Violette rose.

The movement was slow, feline, and effortless, the midnight silk of her dress cascading down her curves as she stepped to the edge of the brass railing. The air around the enclave grew so taut that the spectators near the stairs visibly held their breath.

Looking down at Raymond Cole, her dark eyes gleamed with cold intrigue. The faintest, most dangerous curve touched her crimson lips.

Then, under the flashing neon strobes, she extended a slender, pale hand forward... and laid her fingers softly into Cole’s open palm.

The young man’s jaw went slack. The glass in his hand tilted dangerously, amber liquid sloshing over the rim and splashing onto the polished tabletop, but he didn’t even notice. The smug, condescending grin that had plastered his face shattered into utter, blank incomprehension.

Beside him, the two girls choked on their laughter. Their sneers vanished as if slapped off their faces, their eyes wide as saucers, staring at the sight of the very man they had discarded like trash now holding the hand of the undisputed queen of the night.

The entire VIP floor went dead silent for a fraction of a second, before detonating into a deafening uproar of disbelieving shouts and thunderous chaos.

"Holy shit—she actually took it?!"

"Are you kidding me?! Who the hell is that guy?!"

Patrons leaped from their leather booths to get a better view, glasses clinked frantically against tables, and even the bartenders stopped mixing drinks to stare in open shock. Men who had thrown fortunes across the counters only to be ignored now watched in bitter, dumbfounded envy as Raymond Cole curled his fingers gently around Violette’s hand.

Cole didn’t spare the stunned brat or the two humiliated girls a single glance.

With the unhurried grace of a man who belonged among monsters, he closed his fingers over hers, guided her down the final step, and led the Vice-Director of the Silver Veil smoothly into the open rhythm of the room.

Watching from the counter, Alex couldn’t help but smirk as the entire VIP lounge erupted into chaos.

While the crowd saw an aging, broke businessman pulling off an impossible conquest, Alex saw the truth beneath the strobes: two Middle Stage Ascended monsters stepping into the center of the floor under the guise of a slow dance.

He looked down at the woman still stranded in his lap. Naomi was frozen in absolute shock, her eyes wide open and unblinking as she stared at the dance floor.

Leaning down, Alex murmured with a dark chuckle, "Looks like that pathetic boss of yours isn’t so pathetic after all, darling. "

The initial shockwave rippling through the lounge shifted as the DJ expertly transitioned the track.

The ambient background hum gave way to a deep, syncopated beat that pulsed low through the floorboards... a slow, hypnotic rhythm, heavy enough to draw the entire VIP section to their feet.

Dozens of couples drifted toward the center under the strobe lights, eager for an excuse to dance, but even more desperate to share the floor with the untouchable woman in black silk.

As waves of eager onlookers drifted closer to the edge of the floor to watch the spectacle, the energy in the lounge shifted into a charged, humming buzz.

Alex leaned down, letting his breath brush the warm rim of Naomi’s ear, a wicked glint surfacing in his dark eyes.

"Can you dance, darling?" he teased, his hand resting heavy and deliberate against her hip. "It’d be a real shame not to join the fun."

Naomi scoffed, though the tremor in her voice betrayed how fragile her composure really was. She turned her head, glaring into his amused eyes.

"Don’t pretend this is about me," she said, her tone sharp with bitter defiance. "You just want an excuse to get on that floor and share the stage with her."

Alex only laughed... a low, leisurely sound that vibrated straight through her chest.

"So what if I do? Are you jealous?" He leaned in a millimeter closer, his gaze dropping to her parted lips before rising back to pin hers. "If that bothers you, prove you’re confident enough to drag my eyes away from her. Show me you can keep me entirely to yourself out there."

Naomi hesitated. Her breath caught in her throat, her dark eyes darting nervously toward the crowd before dropping down to herself. The sharp, untouchable mercenary was completely gone.

Her legs were still trembling, her chest rose and fell in shallow hitches, and worst of all, the tight silk between her thighs felt warm, clingy, and unmistakably ruined from what he had done to her under the counter.

Seeing the flicker of panic in her eyes, Alex leaned in until his mouth grazed the heated shell of her ear.

"Don’t be afraid, sweetheart," he murmured with a low, wicked chuckle against her ear. "Under these lights, no one is going to notice how damp you made your dress. And even if they do, they will only be jealous of how well your night is going to be."

A scalding rush of blood surged straight to Naomi’s face.

"Who says I’m afraid?" Naomi hissed, forcing a sharp, defiant edge back into her voice even as the heat burned beneath her collar.

She pushed off his lap and stepped onto the marble floor. Her knees gave a faint, traitorous shudder, the damp silk clinging intimately to the slick heat between her thighs, but her training took over before she could falter. With two swift, practiced sweeps of her palms over her hips, she smoothed out the crumpled crimson fabric, masking the creases and composing herself with efficiency.

Squaring her shoulders, she tilted her chin up, letting the polished, untouchable mask slide back into place.

"Come on, then," she challenged, locking her fingers firmly around his hand. "Let’s see if your footwork is half as good as your mouth."

Without waiting for permission, she turned and pulled him away from the counter, steering them straight into the dense, swirling sea of people crowding the floor.

Alex rose with lazy, effortless grace. Towering over her, he let her drag him forward without resistance, a slow, wicked smirk playing across his lips as his dark eyes locked onto the center of the lights... where the real monsters were already waiting.
