Shrouding the Heavens

Chapter 283 - Deseceration

Chapter 283 - Deseceration

Everyone on the ground was tense, terrified that Ye Fan might do something mad and kill their Saints and Saintesses. That would cause a chaos impossible to contain.

But clearly they were overthinking it. The Saints, though uneasy, were not afraid, each had their own means of protection.

Ye Fan quickly frowned. Killing these people was indeed difficult. The force field of the Chaos Stone was too strong; most of the godpower he unleashed was neutralized.

He possessed the cauldron cast from the Motherly Energy of All Things, but he could not possibly use it to approach them; otherwise, the captives would be freed as well.

The force field created by the Chaos Stone was everywhere, saturating every inch of space. His godpower was being endlessly diminished. He couldn’t even use his cauldron to suppress anyone, or else the Motherly Energy of All Things would immediately grant them release.

Striding through the void, Ye Fan stopped in front of Ji Haoyue, which made the Ji Clan grow extremely nervous, their hearts leaping into their throats.

“You can’t kill me,” Ji Haoyue said calmly. A divine moon shone brightly, protecting his body.

“You know full well my Sacred Physique restrains your Celestial Phenomena. Even if I can’t kill you, I can beat you half to death.”

“Then try.” The divine moon merged with Ji Haoyue, his entire being flowing with radiant light.

“Out of respect for Ziyue, I’ll settle this with you later.” Ye Fan stepped away, striding up to the Chaos Stone. His golden palm struck once more.

Boom!

The Leviathan Prince was knocked a dozen feet away, but the immense force field fixed him there, holding him motionless again.

“Good. I like this cauldron very much. You’d better keep it safe for me. One day, I’ll come to take it.” The Leviathan Prince’s words were ice-cold, his eyes blazing with murderous madness.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Ye Fan said nothing, continuing to strike, smashing the Leviathan Prince back and forth like a ragdoll. His blows were measured, careful not to accidentally knock him out of the force field.

He truly wanted to kill this future ruler of the Leviathan God Race, but as expected, the Chaos force field nullified too much of his power.

He didn’t know how many punches he had thrown, until even his arms felt sore, yet he still couldn’t kill his foe.

“Hahaha…” Blood trickled from the Leviathan Prince’s lips, but he only laughed wildly.

Suddenly, a golden ray shot from Ye Fan’s brow, a lethal strike aimed straight at his opponent.

Buzz!

The void quivered. From the Leviathan Prince’s body, a flash of light erupted. A tiny silver tower flew out, plunged into his forehead, and fixed itself there.

Ding!

A crisp sound rang out. The silver tower trembled but did not break. With a flash, it sank back into his brow.

At the same moment, the Leviathan Prince roared, his whole body blazing. A divine golden leviathan, vivid and lifelike, burst forth, lunging at Ye Fan.

A dragon’s roar shook the heavens. Following the leviathan, a terrifying true dragon leapt into the air, coiling and tearing through restraints, charging at Ye Fan.

It was the Leviathan War Dragon Art!

The Leviathan Prince had been holding back all along, not using this sacred technique, until now. He wanted to slay Ye Fan in one strike.

This divine art was unparalleled, immensely powerful. It could only be cast after reaching the Fourth Realm. In his previous duel with Ye Fan, he had been unable to use it, leaving him filled with regret.

Now, a supreme golden leviathan and a mighty azure dragon surged forth. Their colossal forms made everyone shiver with dread.

“Even in the Chaos force field he can use this technique, his power is terrifying! Just how strong is the Leviathan Prince?”

“Incredible. Beyond belief.”

People were left stunned, jaws agape.

“I’ve been guarding against this all along!” Ye Fan stepped into the Old Madman’s footwork, flashing past both leviathan and dragon.

Even someone as powerful as the Leviathan Prince could not act freely in the Chaos force field. Soon, both the golden leviathan and azure dragon dimmed.

Buzz!

The void quaked. The leviathan and dragon reappeared, vivid and mighty, but now clinging close to him, entwined around his body. One strike had failed to kill Ye Fan; he knew no second chance would come.

The Combat Technique transformed into a Combat Diagram, shielding his body, clinging to his flesh, thus resisting the force field’s suppression.

Ye Fan attacked furiously. Even if he couldn’t kill the Leviathan Prince, he would pound him senseless, kicking with giant golden feet, slashing with divine golden handprints.

“Heh… pointless. You can’t kill me.” The Leviathan Prince sneered, blood at his lips. “Careful not to break my cauldron.”

Ye Fan ignored him, summoning the Departing Fire God Furnace. He threw the Leviathan Prince inside and activated the incinerating incantations.

“If I can’t refine you, I’ll still peel a layer off your hide!” With the cauldron unusable, he turned to this furnace to torment him.

“Child, this heat is laughable. Refining me? You’re far from it. Feels pleasant in here, actually. Turn it up.” His savage voice rang out, arrogant as ever.

Buzz!

The Chaos Stone quivered. Streams of radiant light shot forth, pouring into the furnace, making it blaze like a sun.

On the furnace surface, indistinct divine birds vanished into the metal, and the flames soared to a terrifying peak.

“What is this…” Ye Fan was shocked, the furnace could actually draw on the Chaos Stone’s power!

Behind, the others revealed strange looks. Especially the future God King of the Jiang Clan, who trembled, divine light flashing from his eyes in shock.

At first the Leviathan Prince mocked, but soon fell silent, then groaned low.

Everyone was stunned. Could this furnace truly refine even the Leviathan Prince? To draw on the Chaos Stone itself, this was unthinkable.

Clang! Boom! Chime!

The Leviathan Prince struggled violently, moving even within the Chaos force field, proof of the desperate danger he faced.

Then, Ye Fan lifted the lid and dumped him out to check the result.

Everyone paled. The future sovereign of the Leviathan God Race was scorched black, looking like he’d crawled out of a coal pit.

“You…” His eyes still blazed like twin lightning bolts.

“Good. If I can’t refine you today, I’ll at least burn off every feather!” Ye Fan hurled him back in, slammed the lid, and pressed the furnace against the Chaos Stone.

The crowd shuddered. Left long enough, the Leviathan Prince would be refined to death.

Only now did the Saints begin to feel true fear. To be killed by someone only at the Dao Palace Realm would be humiliating beyond measure.

As Ye Fan turned, the Saints acted almost in unison, divine light flashing at their brows, each moving their most powerful artifacts to shield their Seas of Consciousness.

Ye Fan’s gaze swept over them, making them uneasy. Perhaps they wouldn’t lose their lives, but to be burned into charcoal before all others would be shame unbearable.

Especially the women. Renowned as world-stunning beauties, if they were defiled this way, it would be worse than death.

The heir of Absolute Dao Sacred Ground was a young Daoist nun, bearing the aura of the Grand Dao. She stood quietly, veiled in mystery, her true form indistinct.

Before, with just three words, “Boundless Heavenly Lord”, she had purified thousands of ghostly soldiers and steeds, her voice unmatched in sacred resonance.

Now, her voice rang like pearls striking jade, melodious and clear: “Benefactor Ye, you should leave quickly, lest disaster befall you.”

From another side, the Saintess of Jade Pool, radiant in misty light, spoke too: “The Grand Elders of every sect are here. You must depart at once.”

Among the crowd, only Wu Zhongtian, Blackwater, Jiang Huairen and others remained unruffled, whispering secret counsel to Ye Fan.

“Brother Ye, why not go big? Toss them all into the furnace, burn them to ashes! Then in all of Eastern Wilderness, no one could challenge us.”

“Exactly. I’ve had enough of them. Reduce them all to dust, let their sects weep.”

Ye Fan said nothing, striding up to the Radiant Light Saint. His golden palm, broad as a millstone, struck down hard.

But the Radiant Light Saint was impervious, his Radiant Light Scripture spread across his body like a golden haze, a defense unmatched among peers.

“Do we have a grudge?” Even while trembling under the blows, his voice remained calm.

Ye Fan didn’t answer. He knew this man was dangerous, coveting his cauldron. He had pursued Ye Fan to places like Cloud-Break Mountain.

Ye Fan even suspected that when ancient beasts had ambushed him for Phoenix-Blood Red-Gold, the disguised figure had not been Old Blade, but this very Saint.

Such ruthlessness, sacrificing even his own, terrifying.

And to remain this composed now spoke volumes. This was without doubt a future deadly enemy.

Without hesitation, Ye Fan flung him into the furnace and slammed the lid shut. Clean and decisive.

“You…”

Below, the cultivators of Radiant Light were aghast. None had expected Ye Fan to be so ruthless, tossing their Holy Son straight into the furnace, clearly intending to reduce him to ash!

“You’ve offended the Ji Clan, and now you would make enemies of Radiant Light as well?!” they roared.

“Every time Ji Clan hunts me, Radiant Light dogs are right there beside them. We’ve been enemies long ago!” Ye Fan sneered.

Boom! Clang! Bang!

Inside the furnace, the Leviathan Prince groaned. The Radiant Light Saint grunted too, enduring unbearable heat.

In the Light God Temple, some tried to rush out, hoping to summon their sects’ Grand Elders to kill Ye Fan. But the moment they reached the doors, hundreds of banners sealed the space, trapping them in illusions.

This was a formation Ye Fan had set earlier, the same as he had used in the Ageless Chamber, one that could even confine ancient fiends’ bodies.

Panic spread. No one could escape. The place was cut off from the world.

“I must know, where did you obtain that furnace?” The Jiang Clan’s future God King suddenly spoke by divine sense, genderless, shrouded in mystery.

“Could it be related to your clan’s Sun God Furnace?” Ye Fan shot back, staring at the armored Jiang scion.

“It differs greatly from the Sun God Furnace I have seen, yet its aura is similar,” the figure replied.

Ye Fan wasted no time, striding straight to Yao Xi. She paled instantly. Their enmity ran deep.

Yao Xi, peerless beauty, her jade-like skin and elegant form enchanting beyond compare, at once a seductress and a saint, both temptation and purity embodied.

But now, she could not remain calm. The situation was dire.

“Such a fine beauty, and yet…” Ye Fan’s golden hand rose, lifting her chin, almost mocking.

“Ye Fan, you!” Below, the Radiant Light Sacred Ground roared. Their Saintess embodied purity itself, never to be defiled, yet Ye Fan had dared in full view of all!

Everyone else grew tense. Ye Fan was reckless. Clearly, he wasn’t only targeting a few, every sect heir present was in danger. Perhaps he would desecrate them all.
