Chapter 315 - A Weapon Interwoven With Dao & Principle
Chapter 315 - A Weapon Interwoven With Dao & Principle
All of this happened in the blink of an eye. Ye Fan fought desperately, killed two powerful enemies, and narrowly survived.
He had intended to temper himself against the Ten Young Masters, but only if his life wasn’t under direct threat. Just now, the situation was far too dire, forcing him to unleash all his methods.
Buzz!
The Diamond Bracelet flew forth, circling radiantly, its natural Dao Runes shimmering as though imbued with the majesty of gods, shaking the scarlet land around them.
Ye Fan’s mind stirred. He wanted to test how hard this bangle truly was, so he sacrificed the Motherly Energy Cauldron above his head. Though it hadn’t yet interwoven with Dao and Principle, it was still a supreme artifact, indestructible, unbreakable.
Clang!
The two collided, shaking the red-brown earth violently. Gravel and sand roared like a flood, sweeping in all directions.
Between them, the ground seemed to transform into a raging ocean. Sand rose in waves like crashing tides, while the void itself trembled like a shaken scroll in someone’s hand.
The Diamond Bracelet was indeed terrifying, its power immense. Even the Motherly Energy Cauldron could not shatter it. Ye Fan was alarmed, “Could this truly be that godly weapon from the other side of the starry sky?”
Swish!
He turned into a phantom, retreating hundreds of feet away, the cauldron flying back to hover above his head.
Boom!
The bangle struck again, with force to split mountains and shatter the heavens. The earth beneath his feet collapsed, sending him flying.
After this strike, the Young Master from Radiant Light finally stopped. Holding the gleaming treasure, he glared coldly at Ye Fan, “We underestimated you. For the Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique at only the fourth stage to have such battle strength, slaying even the cultivators of my Radiant Light…”
Ye Fan responded evenly, “You ten all appeared just to kill me. If you want my head, then you must also be prepared to lose yours.”
“One man against the ten of us, do you think this is the Desolate Era?” Yang Yi’s face darkened.
“Whether ancient times or right now, it’s the same to me. I’ve already slain five of you. What’s five more?”
“What? You’ve killed five already? Then before we came, it wasn’t just Gu Litian who had fallen?” Yang Yi was startled.
“That’s right. Three had already been killed back then. You’ll be the sixth.”
“How unexpected. Though the Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique has declined, it still has its brilliance.” Yang Yi’s expression grew colder.
Ye Fan said, “There’s something I don’t understand. I want to ask you.”
“What is it?” Yang Yi asked indifferently.
“Where did you get that Diamond Bracelet? What’s its origin?” Ye Fan stared at him.
“Why do you want to know?” Yang Yi asked, the bangle flashing with dreamlike light in his hand.
“I’m just curious. This kind of weapon isn’t common. Today’s the first time I’ve seen one. Even my cauldron can’t crush it.”
“Hmph.”
Yang Yi sneered, “Don’t think that just because you hold a supreme artifact you can suppress all weapons. Without interweaving Dao and Principle into it, even your Motherly Energy Cauldron is nothing special.”
The blood-red sunset sank completely. Night fell, stars dotted the heavens, and cold winds blew across the ruined battlefield with a wailing sound.
“So this Diamond Bracelet does have a significant origin?” Ye Fan asked.
“Of course. It’s my grandmaster’s secret treasure, specially bestowed upon me to capture you!” Yang Yi’s voice was icy.
“A treasure belonging to a Sacred Lord?!” Ye Fan’s heart stirred. The Radiant Light Sacred Ground truly was restless. With their Saint missing, all factions were pushing their disciples forward, even bestowing them heavy treasures.
“This is one of Radiant Light’s most important weapons, forged from the Dragon Rune Cauldron, a Paragon Artifact. It was cast from Grand Dao Silver Essence.”
Ye Fan’s heart leapt. Grand Dao Silver Essence! That was a supreme material for forging weapons, beloved by every Sacred Lord, indestructible and eternal. He recalled the White-Jade Divine Iron he had seen used by the Dark Crow in Fire Domain, materials of the same grade, equally precious.
Though this Diamond Bracelet was no larger than a bracelet, the material was unimaginably extravagant.
“So your grandmaster must be an extraordinary figure.”
What truly weighed on Ye Fan’s mind, though, was the fact that it had been forged within the Dragon Rune Cauldron. That meant it wasn’t the same as the legendary Diamond Bracelet from the other side of the starry sky.
Indeed, how could such coincidences repeat themselves? That ancient divine weapon, capable of smashing apart the heavens, could not possibly have fallen into the hands of a cultivator of the Four Pillars Realm.
Even so, Ye Fan’s heart was moved. Since it had been born from the Dragon Rune Cauldron, this was undoubtedly one of Radiant Light’s core treasures.
“I’ve heard your Paragon Artifact, the Dragon Rune Cauldron, rarely appears, as it suppresses something. What exactly is it suppressing?”
Yang Yi snorted heavily. “You know too much already!”
If there was any Paragon Artifact Ye Fan was most curious about, it was indeed the Dragon Rune Cauldron. Not only because Radiant Light, like him, chose to forge a cauldron, but also because Radiant Light had never produced a Grand Emperor, yet had still created a Paragon Artifact. That was a unique anomaly.
Since ancient times, this had been the only case. Without producing a Grand Emperor, yet still managing to forge such a weapon, no one else ever achieved it.
But this wasn’t mere luck. In the Desolate Era, their lineage produced no Emperor, but twenty-eight sages emerged in succession. Each generation birthed dazzling figures.
Twenty-eight sages, one after another. When an elder passed, the next arose. Across fifty thousand years, they sacrificed everything to refine the cauldron.
Each sage, before death, engraved their life’s comprehension as Dao Runes, branding them into the Dragon Rune Cauldron.
For over fifty millennia, before it became a Paragon Artifact, the black-gold cauldron was left atop Radiant Light’s sacred mountain, never once moved.
It endured the elements, absorbed sun and moonlight, drank the power of the stars, engraved heaven and earth’s Dao, while countless disciples prayed before it.
Finally, on a stormy night, it interwove with the supreme principles of heaven and earth, transforming into a Paragon Artifact, an unmatched treasure of the Eastern Wilderness.
This showed just how terrifying Paragon Artifacts were. Without an Emperor, it should have been impossible. Yet Radiant Light was the only exception.
For fifty thousand years, twenty-eight sages, countless Holy Masters, elders, and disciples poured their lives into it. In the end, they gave birth to the Dragon Rune Cauldron.
Suddenly, Ye Fan felt an immense sense of danger. An ominous premonition rose in his heart.
He turned into a bolt of lightning, retreating swiftly.
“Too late. Your biggest mistake was giving me so much time. You wanted to hear Radiant Light’s secrets? I’ll gladly tell you, but only if you survive!”
Yang Yi laughed coldly. All the while, he had been channeling godpower into the Diamond Bracelet.
Boom!
He raised his hand, and the radiant ring shot forth like a silver bolt of lightning, as if to shatter the heavens themselves.
Silver light blazed, rumbling thunderously. The black sky shook violently, as though ready to rain down the stars.
The scarlet earth below crumbled instantly, fissures spreading endlessly, rocks soaring like arrows.
The Diamond Bracelet chased after Ye Fan, expanding to the size of a millstone, not massive, but terrifying beyond measure, carrying boundless force.
Crash!
Silver brilliance cascaded like snow. The bangle smashed onto the Motherly Energy Cauldron with a deafening boom. The ground collapsed, surging like a raging sea. Massive boulders and endless sand blasted thousands of meters into the sky, like the end of days.
Under the cataclysmic strike, Ye Fan was hurled three to four miles away. The cauldron above his head hummed violently, and his blood churned.
“This weapon is too horrifying, it must have interwoven Dao and Principle!” Ye Fan shivered.
The thought that it had been forged from Grand Dao Silver Essence and birthed from a Paragon Artifact only unsettled him further.
Boom!
The second strike came. Within a thousand-mile radius, earth and stone were obliterated, turned to dust in the sky.
A black, bottomless crater a thousand-mile wide appeared on the ground, truly terrifying.
The force of one strike alone was this dreadful. Ye Fan sucked in a breath of cold air, deeply shaken.
His cauldron was blasted skyward, separated from him by an irresistible sagely force. He couldn’t control it at all.
At that moment, Ye Fan realized the gravity of the situation. The Diamond Bracelet’s terror far exceeded his expectations. Activating the Nine Secrets, his speed multiplied tenfold, allowing him to dodge the third strike and soar into the sky.
He barely managed to reclaim the cauldron before the bangle struck again.
“This isn’t going to work…” He swung the God-Striking Whip upward, lashing at the silver brilliance.
Clang!
The sound split the heavens, his eardrums nearly rupturing, his arm going numb. The Diamond Bracelet’s power was too great, its material too unique. Even the God-Striking Whip couldn’t shatter it.
“It really makes me suspect… could this truly be the Diamond Bracelet from the other side of the starry sky?” Ye Fan was once again blasted miles away.
Its dreadful might could easily kill a cultivator of the first stage of the Four Pillars Realm. If not for Ye Fan’s special physique, his arm would have been pulverized instead of merely numb.
He quickly checked the God-Striking Whip, worried it might be damaged. Thankfully, it was still simple and unmarked, unharmed.
“Damn it, does your grandmaster think I’m the leader of some Sacred Ground, giving you a weapon this terrifying?!” Ye Fan cursed bitterly.
Yang Yi ignored him, once again urging the Diamond Bracelet. It shone with blinding silver brilliance as it descended.
Boom!
