Shrouding the Heavens

Chapter 525: Chapter 530: Deep into the Dragon Cave

Chapter 525: Chapter 530: Deep into the Dragon Cave

The Wanchu Sacred Master, a pinnacle figure of his generation, unexpectedly died in the Dragon Nest. A purple creature ripped off his skull, and his brain matter flowed out. His upper body, a mess of red and white, collapsed to the ground!

This wasn’t just any powerful individual. He was one of the rulers of the Eastern Wastelands in this era, far surpassing other sovereigns. Hardly anyone in the mortal world could match him, yet he was annihilated.

This was akin to a major earthquake, having an immense impact and leaving everyone shocked. A chill ran deep within their bones. The Dragon Nest was far too fierce; even Sacred Masters were beginning to fall!

“ROAR!”

In the Ancient Cave, primordial creatures roared. Among them, several were almost divine, enveloped by halos, leading their holy divine relics to suppress the heroic lords from all factions.

In the distance, the Black Emperor shrank its neck, eyes flickering, and said, “Damn it, too ferocious. They even ripped the head off a pinnacle Sacred Master.”

“You’d better realize that! Hurry up and get us out of here!” Ye Fan yanked its bald tail, nearly lifting it upside down.

“Trust me, in this world, no one cherishes life as much as I do!” The big black dog bared its teeth and broke free.

Then, with a flash of light, a mysterious pattern of array runes appeared around them—it was the corner of the Array Map left by the Void Great Emperor.

“We can traverse the void at any time,” the big black dog transmitted. Yet, it remained more cautious and somewhat apprehensive, especially since a pinnacle Sacred Master had just been killed. Soon, the Eastern Wastelands would surely be rocked by this news!

SWISH! A clear light moved, and they disappeared from their original spot, appearing in a nearby Dragon Cave that had not been affected by the fighting.

“Do you really want to go in?” Ye Fan grabbed a pinch of its mane.

“Damn it, let go! This Emperor has its own ways! This is a true Dragon Nest, possibly containing unimaginable things. If one were to obtain them, they might ascend to the heavens in a single step.”

Even without its words, Ye Fan knew what kind of place this was. According to the records of the Heavenly Source Book, if True Dragons truly existed, this must be their abandoned old nest.

Primordial creatures had only migrated here later, slumbering in this place. What lay within the True Dragon’s old nest was nearly unimaginable—an existence that, according to legend, stood alongside Immortals.

“There are still some powerful awakened creatures that haven’t come out yet!” the monkey reminded.

“I know. We’ll hide in this Dragon Cave first and let them fight their life-and-death battles,” the big black dog said.

At this moment, they were approaching the central area of the Dragon Nest, quietly waiting for an opportunity within a nearby cave.

A long howl was heard as an ocean-like force surged violently. The human sovereign Non Gongzheng displayed world-shocking courage and strength, slaying five primordial creatures barehanded.

Afterwards, he engaged in a great battle with a nearly human-shaped purple ancient creature, turning that place into a zone of devastation that other creatures dared not approach.

This was the same creature that had eradicated the Wanchu Sacred Master. Its body glowed with purple light, its scale armor looked sinister, and a Purple Gold Tower suspended above its head, which it smashed towards Non Gongzheng like a mountain.

BOOM! Both sides clashed fiercely, and nothing could survive. While the Dragon Nest had Innate Patterns densely spread across it, making it eternally unyielding, the nearby Ancient Cave still collapsed.

Half-step Sovereigns and several primordial creatures were swept in, instantly turned into pulp, and vanished like smoke in a flash.

CLANG! From Non Gongzheng’s brow, a small tree flew out. Its brilliance radiated magnificently, shooting out strands of invincible Chaotic Sword Aura!

CRACK! The Purple Gold Tower of the primordial creature split open, unable to withstand the small tree, which swiftly closed in.

PUFFT! Non Gongzheng spat out Innate Essence Qi from his mouth. This made the tree even more dazzling. Weighing as much as billions of tons, it pressed down, pinning the primordial creature, which was covered by a Divine Ring, beneath it.

“ROAR…”

The primordial creature, shimmering with purple light, exhausted all its strength to resist, yet it couldn’t stop the small tree’s suppression. Its body cracked, and blood gushed forth.

Everyone was astounded. Non Gongzheng’s formidable presence awed the southern part of the Eastern Wastelands. He was unmatched, and his reputation was clearly not just empty talk.

SPLAT! He exerted force, causing the small tree, over a foot tall, to tremble violently. It shook loose a myriad of sword auras, and the nearly human-shaped primordial creature shattered.

Bone shards and flesh exploded everywhere. The scene was gory yet intensely shocking. The ancient creature that killed the Wanchu Sacred Master was thus vanquished by a human sovereign.

“Non Gongzheng lives up to his reputation! He actually slew such a powerful ancient creature!”

“Even the Wanchu Sacred Master was no match for that purple creature.”

Onlookers could only marvel in their hearts, having no time to pay much attention as everyone else was desperately fighting to break free.

“What a ruthless one! This person is truly powerful!” The big black dog was surprised.

“He once saw the corpse of a ruthless person and managed to come out alive from the Bronze Immortal Palace; he is certainly no ordinary person,” Ye Fan remarked, not commenting further.

Ye Fan, the Black Emperor, and the Fighting Saint Ape hid in the Dragon Cave, having almost entered the vast Ancient Cave within the Dragon Nest.

They kept waiting; there were still mighty primordial creatures that hadn’t appeared, most likely extremely formidable beings.

“Be prepared. If it’s human-shaped, we flee immediately,” Ye Fan reminded.

“ROAR…”

Not far away, the battle on the field grew even more intense.

A terrifying ancient creature, nearly human-shaped with a crocodile tail and covered in dense golden scales, fought fiercely with the Ji Family Sacred Master, the battle reaching a fever pitch.

Its methods were savage and terrifying. In the process, it slew nine Grand Elders from the Sacred Lands; even the Ji Family Sacred Master couldn’t stop it.

SWISH! This golden ancient creature gained the upper hand. At a critical moment, it launched a secret art, moved through the void, and closed in on the Purple Mansion Sacred Master.

It endured a strike to its back from the Ji Family Sacred Master’s Ancient Mirror, spitting out a strand of golden blood. It then teamed up with another ancient creature to attack the Purple Mansion Sacred Master.

The Great Dao evolved a web of patterns, densely pressing down. The void where the Purple Mansion Sacred Master stood became an eternal prison, temporarily immobilizing him.

The golden creature let out a roar and charged through, an unparalleled killing intent surging from it as a boundless, terrifying aura permeated the area.

RIP! At the critical moment, the Purple Mansion Sacred Master broke free but was still a step too late; his left arm was torn off. Blood gushed like a fountain.

A second Sacred Master had almost fallen!

This was only a glimpse. Battles of life and death were happening everywhere. The Queen Mother of the West, the Southern Mountains’ War King, and the Western Desert’s Divine Monk were all engaged in fierce combat.

Their adversaries were nearly human-like ancient creatures, each extremely powerful, unleashing True Fire. Ancient pagodas, War God Halberds, and sariras radiating Immortal Light clashed in countless exchanges as they battled to the death.

Nearby, other Sect Leader-level figures were also fighting bloody battles. Several Heroic Lords had fallen, their bodies dissolved into blood and pus.

BOOM!

A world-shattering killing aura spread as three ancient creatures walked out of the Dragon Nest. They were stronger than the nearly human-like ancient creatures encountered previously.

Everyone’s heart sank. Three such powerful creatures had suddenly emerged. With their numbers increasing and the human cultivators’ dwindling, the situation looked increasingly grim!

CAW! At the pivotal moment, Daoist Crow stepped forward to meet one of them. This old Demon was immensely strong, having lived for over three thousand years, and possessed unmatched combat power.

BOOM!

An even more terrifying battle began. Both sides clashed fiercely, sending flesh and bones flying in the Ancient Cave—a scene of hell on earth.

“Let’s go, our chance is now!” the Black Emperor whispered.

The corner of the Array Patterns left by the Void Great Emperor flowed with a clear brilliance. With a SWISH! it flashed and sent them into the depths of the Dragon Nest.

“Damn dog, we’re really inside!” Ye Fan knew it was too late to say anything more and could only press forward.

“Without entering the Dragon Cave, how can one obtain Immortal Treasure?” The Black Emperor’s bell-like eyes sparkled with Divine Light.

How come this time there wasn’t a deviation of millions of miles… Ye Fan wondered.

“You really underestimate this Emperor! It’s only a few miles; how could there be a deviation?!” the Black Emperor fumed indignantly.

“Be careful! Once the Ancient Kings awaken, none of us will leave here alive!” the monkey reminded.

Now, Ye Fan understood that once the Ancient Royal Family reached the Ultimate Realm, they could become emperors. However, even in Ancient Times, through endless ages, there had been very few.

But even so, once an Ancient Royal Family member matured, they would be, at the very least, as powerful as the ancient Saints of the human race. Some might even possess power comparable to a Great Success Holy Body!

“This Emperor has used the Void Great Emperor’s Array Patterns to isolate all Qi Mechanisms, so rest assured,” the Black Emperor said, though it too became nervous.

Inside the Dragon Nest, Life Qi surged like a tide, and Dragon Qi roared like a great river. Deep within, it seemed a dragon comparable to a Daoist Saint truly slept.

“Such a huge piece of Source!” Ye Fan exclaimed in amazement.

Nearby, a Source Block as large as four or five cubic meters shone with a fiery red glow, like a blazing fire. Within its core were many Divine Sources, and sealed among them was a creature similar to a human.

“This isn’t the king of their clan yet,” the monkey judged. This clan had once produced an ancient emperor of incomparable strength!

The Dragon Nest was full of pits and hollows, with many Ancient Caves, filled with the marks of ages past. Dragon Qi roared like oceans, and auspicious light flowed.

“A huge Divine Source Block!” The Black Emperor’s black fur bristled.

Two miles away, in a dragon-shaped Ancient Cave, lay a three-meter-long Divine Source Block. Its light was glaring. Inside, a purple-haired middle-aged man, identical to a human, was in a deep sleep.

He had no scales or beast tail and appeared extremely divine, making one involuntarily want to worship him. Sealed in the Divine Source, he rested peacefully there.

This was an adult member of the Ancient Royal Family, comparable to an ancient Saint, possibly even more terrifying. His presence made the monkey extremely tense.

The Black Emperor also felt its fur stand on end. Even from two miles away, it dared not advance further, choosing to detour from afar to avoid this area.

I want Immortal Treasure, not Divine Source… it consoled itself, yet it couldn’t help but glance back longingly at the Great Divine Source Block several times.

Shortly after, they saw another hand-sized Divine Source Block. Inside, a girl was sealed. She was very serene, resembling a human maiden, and at first glance, indistinguishable from an ancient creature.

However, upon careful sensing, one could discover an ocean-like terrifying force dormant within the girl’s body. If unleashed, it could destroy the world!

“Damn it, another king! The number must be similar to Purple Mountain!” the Black Emperor muttered.

They moved straight ahead with a clear goal, heading towards the vermilion ancient coffin, because the Immortal Medicine grew there, surrounded by over ten thousand streams of Dragon Qi.

The ancient coffin rose and fell. It was unknown how many years it had been there, buried by several Divine Source Blocks. Yet, its ancient aura was unmistakable, etched with the traces of time.

I can’t stand it…

The Black Emperor was the first to succumb. The vermilion ancient coffin was too terrifying. Even though they were protected by a corner of the Void Great Emperor’s Array Patterns, its world-class killing intent still permeated through.

The physical bodies of the Black Emperor, Ye Fan, and the monkey were all exceptionally resilient, yet at this moment, they showed signs of cracking.

The Undying Immortal Medicine was rooted in the Divine Source Heap beside the coffin. It looked as if cast from gold, was only a foot tall, and was surrounded by tens of thousands of small, dazzlingly bright dragons.

What exactly is inside the ancient coffin? There’s a prize quiz! Please write your answer on the back of your monthly ticket and submit it. We sincerely invite everyone to participate. To the brothers and sisters who answer correctly, a plant of Undying Divine Medicine will be given away, which can resolve all the world’s troubles.
