Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You

Vol 9. Chapter 33: Offer Loyalty to the Dragons!

Vol 9. Chapter 33: Offer Loyalty to the Dragons!

A few hours later, Leon arrived at Saint Heath Academy.

Entering through the main gate, Leon deliberately quickened his pace.

Last night, he’d spent the whole night running around trying to track down the Magic Eye, and in the end he still didn’t even see a shadow of it. Now he’d rushed to the academy again to deliver Noa’s recommendation letter—he had to hurry up, get it done, and then go home and sleep a nice, blissful second-round nap.

Right as he was struggling over whether, after getting the signature, he should lie on Rosvisser’s thighs to sleep, or sleep in her arms, Leon happened to see a group of people busying themselves on the field.

Curiosity made him stop and look toward the grass.

“Come on, students, once we finish cleaning this last area, we’ll have completed the task. Let’s go, let’s go.”

He saw Samantha, dressed in a professional skirt suit, directing a group of students as they did cleaning work.

Leon raised an eyebrow, feeling puzzled.

“Since when does the academy wait until before term starts to do sanitation...”

In his memory, only schools that couldn’t afford dedicated cleaners would use “outdoor labor” as a pretext to order students around.

But Saint Heath Academy had never done that.

Looking further along this group of students, Leon was surprised to realize that the number of people cleaning really wasn’t small.

Not just the field—there were also many students and teachers around the training hall and the outside of the library.

“Don’t tell me this is some hundred-year grand cleanup...”

Leon muttered to himself, but didn’t linger. He quickened his steps toward the principal’s office.

He crossed the walkway, went up to the top floor of the teaching building, and headed straight for Wilson’s office.

Knock—knock—knock!

After knocking and waiting a moment, there was no response from inside.

Leon rapped his knuckles again and called out:

“Principal Wilson, I’m here to deliver Noa’s recommendation letter.”

Still no answer.

Leon scratched his head again.

“What’s going on... If it’s a hundred-year grand cleanup, the principal isn’t even here?”

Just as Leon lifted his hand to knock a third time, the door to the vice principal’s office next door opened.

Leon looked over, only to see a blue-haired, beautiful woman turn sideways and poke her head out.

“Principal Wilson took leave. If you have something, come talk to me. I—cough cough...”

She didn’t even finish before a fit of coughing interrupted her.

Claudia patted her chest lightly, then looked back at Leon and tipped her chin toward her own office.

“Come in.”

“Oh, okay.”

Leon followed Claudia into her office.

At the desk, Claudia sat down and casually pulled out a tissue.

“Sorry. Excuse me.”

She blew her nose lightly and sniffed softly, then tossed the tissue into the trash can beside her.

Leon looked over and saw the trash can was already full of wadded-up used tissues.

“Hey, Senior, you caught a cold?” Leon asked as he sat down.

Claudia pressed her lips together, picked up the warm water on the desk and took a small sip, then leaned back in her chair, one hand supporting her forehead.

“Yeah. It’s ridiculously rare.”

“Rare?”

“Mhm. With a dragon’s constitution, even a highly contagious flu can’t do anything to us. Normally, from birth to death, a dragon almost never catches a cold.”

Claudia looked a little haggard. Her pretty brows were slightly knit as she lowered her eyes to the desktop.

“But maybe it’s precisely because—Principal Wilson and several staff teachers have gotten sick. Could it be some new kind of virus specifically targeting dragons?”

As she spoke, Claudia seemed to calmly realize something. She lifted her eyes, locked them on Leon, and demanded in a deliberately stern tone:

“Leon, was this done by you, the human? Are you trying to take the opportunity to bring us down and rule the dragons?”

“...”

“Sick and still joking. Looks like you’re not sick enough.”

Leon raised an eyebrow and smiled.

“Senior, how could I do something like that? If I really wanted to rule the dragons, I probably wouldn’t need to go to that much trouble.”

Claudia rolled her eyes at him and smiled.

“Enough. Let’s talk business. I just heard you outside—you said you came to deliver Noa’s recommendation letter?”

“Yeah.”

As he spoke, Leon took out the recommendation letter and handed it to Claudia.

Claudia accepted it, read as she nodded slowly, and said:

“The main purpose of a recommendation letter is to confirm whether the student is loyal to the dragons. Your whole family aura—though later there’s one pureblood dragon among them—but I’ve never doubted those girls’ loyalty.”

What Claudia said was true.

From Noa to the other sisters, all four were human-dragon hybrids.

In their household, only Rosvisser was truly pureblood.

Yet looking across the entire dragon race, there really wasn’t anyone who could say their family was disloyal to dragons.

After finishing the letter, Claudia pulled open the desk drawer, put it away, and said as if it were nothing:

“Alright. I’ll have someone start the process later. When the time comes, she can go report directly to the adult division.”

“Mhm. Then I’ll take my leave.”

The beautiful woman smiled gently.

“What are you thanking me for? It’s only right. Also...”

She interlaced her fingers, tilted her head slightly, and let her blue hair fall as she studied Leon’s face carefully.

“Looking at how tired you are, what did you do last night?”

“Don’t even mention it. Yesterday afternoon we finally caught a bit of the Magic Eye’s trail on your side, but in the end we didn’t find anything. Busy for nothing all night.”

As he spoke, Leon yawned and stood up at the same time.

“I’m going straight home to catch up on sleep.”

Claudia narrowed her eyes in a smile.

“Alright. Go back and rest.”

She stood up too, planning to see Leon out.

But the instant she rose, Claudia’s pupils went dark, and a wave of dizziness hit her.

In the next second, her body toppled backward out of control.

In her panic, Claudia saw Leon shouting her name and lunging over to catch her.

...

No one knew how long she’d been unconscious before Claudia slowly opened her eyes.

The familiar office ceiling was in front of her.

“You’re awake,” Leon’s voice came from the side.

Claudia adjusted a little, then tried to sit up.

Leon hurriedly stepped in to support her shoulder and handed her a cup of water at the same time.

Claudia took the cup. Her mind was still a little hazy.

“What just happened to me?”

“Seems like you stood up too fast, and your brain didn’t get blood supply in time. You fainted for a few minutes,” Leon said.

Claudia sat on the sofa, brows slightly furrowed.

“I actually fainted for minutes... Ugh. It’s all this damned cold. Normally I don’t have any of these little problems.”

Leon sighed.

“Get some proper rest and recover first, Senior.”

Claudia nodded.

“Mhm. Sorry to trouble you. I...”

Leon waved it off.

“Hey, it’s no trouble.”

As the two were talking, Samantha came in from outside.

She looked like she had been about to say something, but when she saw Claudia’s haggard state, she immediately changed her tone.

“Vice principal, is your condition... worse again?”

Claudia shook her head.

“It’s nothing. What is it, Samantha?”

“Oh, it’s like this, Vice principal. The grand cleanup you arranged yesterday is basically finished. It’s just...”

“Just what?”

“Just...”

Samantha narrowed her eyes.

“Areas you didn’t mark as needing cleanup have also shown signs of contamination within just one day. Should we include these new areas in the cleanup scope too?”

Hearing that, Claudia lifted her brows in confusion.

“New contaminated areas... How could they appear so quickly...”

“Senior, what kind of contamination is it?”

Leon’s tone suddenly tightened. He looked at Claudia and pressed:

“Did you find any small animal corpses?”

Claudia didn’t understand why Leon was asking, but she looked at Samantha, signaling her to answer.

Samantha didn’t deny it. She said calmly:

“We did find some squirrel corpses during the cleanup, and it was very, very bloody. Some younger students felt physically unwell after seeing it, so we could only have them stop participating.”

The moment he heard that, Leon sprang to his feet.

His sudden movement startled Samantha.

“What is it, Your Highness?”

Leon clenched his fist in secret, thoughts turning rapidly. The strange things he’d encountered these past few days linked together in this instant:

“My master truly couldn’t bear it. He fell ill a few days ago, and he still hasn’t recovered from being bedridden. Please forgive me for being unable to arrange an introduction. I beg the prince and the princess to understand.”

...

“He said the western sea is seriously polluted. A lot of marine animals—even Sea Dragons living in remote areas—have been affected to varying degrees. So your master’s wife and Poseidon took a medical team over.”

...

“According to the patrols, some animals living in Thunderclap Ravine have become far more irritable than before, and some plants have also shown anomalies.”

...

And then Saint Heath Academy—multiple teachers and staff, including Principal Wilson, all sick; the academy environment contaminated; and even connected to Thunderclap Ravine, with small animal corpses appearing.

“Senior, you’re not sick because of some flu virus targeting dragons.”

Leon looked at Claudia, his voice serious and low.

“It’s because of the Demon Sword Shard.”

Claudia froze. “What...”

“Samantha, please arrange for people to reinforce the sealing on the Demon Sword Shard.”

For a moment, Samantha didn’t know what to do, and looked to Claudia to seek approval from her direct superior.

Claudia naturally nodded.

“Go do it.”

“Yes.”

Samantha turned and hurried out.

Claudia looked at Leon again in a daze.

“Leon, what exactly is going on?”

Leon briefly recounted what he had encountered over the past two days, then added his own guess at the end.

“The Demon Sword Shards stored in the three locations were probably all influenced at the same time by that Magic Eye. The negative energy was too strong, it pierced the seals, and leaked a small amount of power fluctuation, causing those weak animals to be unable to withstand it and eventually explode to death. And the blood of the affected animals then changed the surrounding environment. And this power from the Void Realm can also make nearby people become weak. The tower master got sick. Principal Wilson got sick. Even you, Senior.”

After hearing Leon’s analysis, Claudia nodded thoughtfully.

“So that’s how it is... Then it seems that Magic Eye really has started becoming active recently.”

Before Claudia could say anything else, Leon suddenly cried out:

“Damn it!”

As soon as the words fell, Leon turned and strode out of the office.

Claudia hurried to the doorway.

“What is it, Leon?”

Leon stopped at the stairwell and turned back, his expression grave.

“Sky City, the Thunder Dragons, and Saint Heath Academy are all places that store Demon Sword Shards, so they were all affected by the Void Realm’s power.”

“But what about your Sea Dragons? Your side didn’t originally store any Demon Sword Shards, but it was still hit by something similar. So...”

Claudia suddenly understood. Her pupils trembled violently.

“So... the Magic Eye is with the Sea Dragons!”
