Vol 9. Chapter 74: Dragon Heroic Spirit (2)

“Bad news!! Both principals have been attacked. Everyone, on alert immediately!!”

The one reporting was an Adult Dragon Division trainee Samantha had just sent to the administration building to check the situation.

The moment everyone heard that both principals had been attacked, panic erupted. People immediately rushed out of the auditorium and sprinted toward the administration building.

Helena was especially frantic when she heard Claudia had been attacked. She grabbed Noa and started running toward the offices.

After only a few steps, Noa suddenly stopped.

“What is it, Noa?”

Noa’s brows were tightly drawn. Like everyone else, she had felt confusion, shock, and alarm the instant she heard the news.

But Noa’s strength was that she could still think calmly in the middle of chaos.

After a brief silence, she looked at Helena and said:

“The cell holding the Magic Eye requires two keys. One is kept by Aunt Claudia, and the other is kept by Headmaster Wilson. If both of them were attacked, then the attacker most likely intends to release the Magic Eye.”

Noa’s explanation was also meant for Samantha and Vivian beside her.

After hearing Noa’s analysis, Samantha immediately issued orders.

“Helena, Vivian, the two of you go to the offices first and check on the principals. Noa, you and I will gather more teachers and Adult Dragon Division members and head to the prison immediately. Make sure the Magic Eye has not escaped.”

The three nodded and answered in unison:

“Yes, Teacher Samantha.”

Following the crowd, Noa, Samantha, and a team sprinted toward the academy prison.

But before they could get far, an intense burst of firelight erupted from the prison without warning.

In the blink of an eye, dim violet energy leaked outward. The building above the prison shook violently, as if it were about to collapse.

The sudden upheaval also alarmed the Youth Dragon Division and Young Dragon Division students. They poured out, staring at the bizarre aura surging into the sky, and panic spread.

Teachers and staff rushed in at once to protect the students.

But the incident was too abrupt. The field quickly fell into chaos.

Noa frowned as she stared at the towering violet energy.

“This is bad…”

She recognized that energy.

It was chaotic power, the same kind of power that erupted after the Magic Eye possessed a host.

Which meant that whoever had tried to take the keys and release the Magic Eye had already succeeded.

Realizing the Magic Eye had broken out, Noa instinctively looked toward the Youth Dragon Division and Young Dragon Division dorms, worry filling her blue eyes.

Moon and the others were still over there.

Samantha noticed Noa’s thoughts and immediately ordered several members behind her:

“You, take more people and go protect the Youth Dragon Division and Young Dragon Division students. Do not let anything happen to the kids. Understood?”

“Understood!”

Samantha looked back at Noa.

“Don’t worry. They will protect your younger sisters. Our top priority is to seal the Magic Eye again.”

Noa pulled her gaze back, pressed her lips together, hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

“Okay.”

After a quick adjustment to their plan, Noa and the group continued toward the prison.

But the field was far too chaotic, and the teachers could not restore order immediately.

Noa’s group was forced to slow down.

And in the distance, the violet energy that had just been raging was already beginning to disperse.

Noa’s heart sank.

“Did that eyeball already get away?”

Her father, her mother, and Claudia had worked together with Aunt Rebecca and the others to capture and seal the Magic Eye back then, preventing it from continuing its crimes.

Now it had been released by some unknown group.

And with so many people in the academy, the Magic Eye could possess any student and slip out easily.

Noa clenched her fist, anxiety churning in her chest.

“Noa, here!”

At the shout, Noa turned.

Samantha and several Adult Dragon Division members had spread their dragon wings, preparing to fly straight over.

Samantha reached a hand out to Noa. “Grab my hand. I’ll take you.”

Noa had not seen a situation like this in years, and for a split second she forgot that for dragons, moving in three dimensions was simply normal.

“Okay!”

Noa raised her arm to take Samantha’s hand.

But just as her fingers were about to touch Samantha’s, a tall student in a hood rushed past behind her.

Students were running everywhere in the chaos, and Noa had not paid attention to anyone around her.

But the person who had just run by carried a scent on him that was both familiar and revolting.

“What are you doing, Noa? Hurry!” Samantha urged.

Noa stared at the hooded student’s retreating back while Samantha’s voice pressed in her ear.

Should she charge in and pin down that suspicious person?

Or should she follow Samantha and continue to the prison?

If she chose the first option, she could act immediately on her instincts and stop the likely culprit, but she might miss the best chance to reach the prison, and then it would be far harder to catch the Magic Eye.

If she chose the second option, and her instincts about that person were correct, then the Magic Eye would have brushed right past her.

Damn it…

“Noa! What is wrong with you?” Samantha shouted again. “This is the golden window to recapture the Magic Eye. If we delay any longer, we may never catch it again!”

Even as Samantha yelled, Noa’s eyes stayed locked on the hooded student.

He was about to blend into the crowd and disappear.

Noa’s slit pupils tightened.

“My instincts are not wrong. It is you.”

Noa chose to trust herself.

The moment the words left her mouth, she drove her right foot into the ground. Her body became a black afterimage as she flashed behind the hooded student in an instant.

He sensed the attack and turned his head to look.

What greeted him was Noa’s heavy flying knee, driven straight into his face.

The impact sent him flying several meters. He rolled twice in the dirt before he managed to scramble back up.

Noa’s sudden strike made the nearby students instinctively back away, leaving enough space around her and the hooded student.

“W-what is going on? Did Senior Noa just hit someone for no reason?”

“Stop watching and go find a teacher!”

The chaos on the field was already easing as order slowly returned.

Very quickly, the area around Noa and the hooded student emptied out.

“I expected you to do something stupid someday,” Noa said coldly, standing with her back straight and her body angled slightly to the side. “But stupid to this extent… even I did not expect.”

The hooded student slowly raised a hand and pulled back his hood.

Under it was a pale, gaunt, but unmistakably familiar face.

“Tucker.”

Noa’s slit pupils gleamed faintly. A cold light traced across her eyes and cheek as she gripped Thousand Birds and walked toward him step by step.

“This time, I will not hold back.”
