Chapter 436 - How to Deal with the Problem...

To make up for the large experience gap opening between Lohan and Lisa, they had to find a way to also boost Lisa’s growth so she wouldn’t fall behind.

Even though Lohan had a Double Mythic Base, Lisa’s Legendary Base was something they definitely couldn’t afford to skip investing in, thinking about the guild’s future firepower.

A Legendary Base was several levels above the average Player level, and even compared to Epic Bases, which on paper were just one tier below Legendary, the gap between them was still huge.

The Legendary growth rate was far higher than the Epic one, which would make the power gap grow larger and larger the higher the level got, so having Lohan level up alone while leaving Lisa with "average" growth would be a completely stupid thing to do.

Lohan had no way to directly transfer experience points to her, he had already tested that in the past by trying to inject several different types of energy into her body using the Mother Weaver, but since Player Experience was an energy different from anything they had access to, they hadn’t gotten any positive results from that, but that didn’t mean they were out of options.

Those same tests, carried out back when they were still Level 11, had shown that by injecting his biomass into Lisa, with just 6 Units of Biomass they had managed to improve her muscles and energy core by 1 to 2%.

They hadn’t kept implementing it afterward because that 6 biomass, small as it seemed, represented the huge amount of 6,000 Biomass before his evolution to Level 11. He had just leveled up and his rate of biomass gain from digesting lower level monsters was low. But now, with dozens of clones accompanying guild members hunting Level 12 to Level 15 monsters, that was practically nothing!

With so many clones digesting the parts that would otherwise be discarded from the monsters the guild members hunted, Lohan was already receiving several hundred biomass daily!

Even using part of that to inject into Pip and Elle to help their evolution, which was far more efficient, there was still a large amount left over that Lohan stored for emergency periods, like the one he used to control the mana leaking from the Broken Suns’ seal.

But for someone earning that much biomass per day, setting aside one or two hundred per day to help Lisa was nothing.

"Let’s try again now." Lohan suggested, still sitting beside her in his office at the headquarters tree, while the muffled noise of the new members chatting downstairs was no longer even noticeable. "This time I’ll be more careful with the flow, focusing only on improving your body, without wasting anything trying to heal fatigue or refill reserves that were already practically full."

Lisa lay down on her side, stretching out all four paws trying to keep her body as relaxed as possible, but her golden eyes shone with a curiosity she couldn’t fully hide.

"Fine, but this time stop immediately when I tell you it’s hurting." she muttered, arranging her two tails behind her. "Last time you just kept increasing the flow without stopping to ask anything."

"I promise," Lohan replied, projecting thin, bluish filaments that wrapped delicately around her paws and neck, exactly like he did during the massage sessions, but this time with a much more technical purpose.

He started at an extremely low rate, with practically a single thread of refined biomass trickling through her channels, and gradually increased it, monitoring every reaction through the Synaptic Synchrony.

"How are you feeling?" he asked, his voice fully focused.

"For now it’s still warm... comfortable," Lisa murmured, closing her eyes. "Like that nice feeling of taking a warm bath after a tiring day."

He kept gradually increasing it, steadily spending biomass, always alert for any sign of discomfort. The minutes passed, and Lohan felt his own reservoir slowly shrink, having already invested a total of 8 Biomass without a single complaint from her.

"Still okay?" he asked again.

"Yes, you can keep going." Lisa replied, eyes still closed, her tail swaying lightly in a relaxed rhythm.

It was only when he reached the 10 Biomass mark that her face suddenly scrunched up, and a small groan escaped her throat.

"Wait, stop," she said, opening her eyes quickly. "That hurt, the pain finally hit, like a cramp."

Lohan cut off the flow instantly, retracting the filaments with an almost exaggerated haste, worried the pain might intensify again.

"Are you okay?" he asked, worried.

"Yeah, it’s already gone," Lisa confirmed, stretching to test her own body. "The pain hit really fast, it just startled me."

She stayed quiet for a moment, feeling out her own internal structure, and then a satisfied smile appeared on her face.

"Halon, it worked again! Another growth of around 1% to 2%!" she said, excited, testing the strength of her own paws against the wooden floor.

1 to 2% was still a very small amount of growth, that figure not being exact precisely because it was so small it was hard to measure.

Lohan analyzed his own numbers and realized that this time ten Biomass had been spent, a larger amount than the first time, but the pain showing up exactly the same way it had the previous time.

’Interesting...’ he thought, mentally filing that away as important data. ’It seems there’s a daily limit to how much biomass her body can absorb before reacting with pain. Yesterday it was also close to this mark, so this doesn’t seem like a coincidence.’

Lohan realized that pain hadn’t shown up when he first tested this process probably either because he had stopped just short of the limit she could handle that day, or because he simply didn’t have enough free biomass to reach that limit, but ever since they discovered this, they had started testing daily how to deal with it.

’And I can’t lie, it’s not like I dislike this process... heh.’
