Chapter 713
Chapter 713
By the time the sun finally reached the highest point the sky allowed, all the elves present in the settlement could be seen assembled in the square.
So little space remained that many of them were forced to stay in their little houses perched on the trees and observe the farewell from a distance. All of them had great eyesight anyway, so it was not much of a problem for the populace.
Despite the large number of elves, a hushed silence hung in the air as they waited patiently for the stars of the event. They knew that today, the Dragon Emperor would return to his kingdom, and they wished to see his departure.

Into the depths of the royal elven palace, Sol gathered all the women in his harem, seated in a round table. Three additions could be seen in the group, and Sol smiled as he watched Satella fidget uncomfortably, a perpetual frown on her face, next to Persephone.
The two of them still had bad blood between them because of what had happened, but it was not his place to intervene.
Jasmine, meanwhile, was clearly far more at ease in this situation, and Sol even caught her having a conversation with Camelia. Seeing the current saintess of Southern Pride and the former saintess of Lustburg, Sol could not help but briefly wonder what it would feel like to bed the two at the same time.
Gulping to himself at the mental image of that scandalous situation, he chased away the unholy thoughts from his mind and focused on the last intruder.
Outside of Satella and Jasmine, which were plainly obvious additions to the meeting, Nidhogg was also sitting in the place. Unlike Satella, Nidhogg was having a deep conversation with Persephone over what kind of plants were the most useful when it came to inflicting deep paralysis and pain, enhancing the torture factor of the drug.
Ignoring the somewhat brutal talk, Sol considered chasing away Nidhogg from the meeting that was essentially a gathering of his harem. In the end, however, he went with not giving a fuck to whatever she was doing. He was not interested in her at the moment, but even Sol could not deny that the young dragon was a useful ally to his cause. In fact, he had something he wanted her to do at this very moment.
“Well, as you all know, we are finally leaving Southern Pride. I discussed with the Grand Priest, the Queen, and the Supreme Daughter, and settled everything with the elves. The moment I give the signal, Southern Pride will officially announce its alliance with Lustburg.”
“Allegiance, you mean.” Jasmine interrupted Sol, but he could not get mad at her for her subtle sass. She was right, after all. It was an allegiance in all but name. Southern Pride was just a moment away from becoming a subordinate state of Lustburg. All of them knew this.
“Officially, it will be an alliance. I will also announce my engagement with Satella once I take the crown.”
“So, only two Kingdoms left to conquer, huh…” Persephone muttered.
“Two and a half. I may be the queen of Envilya, but we are definitely going to need to fight the Supreme Daughter for the control over the Kingdom. There is no doubt regarding that.” Pandora raised a sheepish hand. But Sol just shrugged in response. “Don’t worry about that. War may not be righteous, but having a reason is always necessary. Conquering the Demons will not be easy, but it will not be too hard either.”
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
“I am sorry. I can’t really follow.” Satella raised her hand. “Lustburg, Wratharis, half of Envilya, and Southern Pride. This still leaves Greed Dike, Gluttony Foss, and Slothein. Gluttony Foss may have never instated a new Queen, but the chimera still have an active government. I doubt they will follow Lustburg obediently.”
“About that…” Sol and the women giggled, leaving a few of the women, out of the loop, confused. “Let me give you a simple rundown.”
He did not go into too much detail but explained the situation with Nuwa and Echidna. When he finished, even Kiyohime’s face was the very image of shock and pure bewilderment.
After all, Echidna was a true legend. Knowing that she was still alive was more than a surprise to just about anyone, no matter the realm.
Sol glanced toward Kiyohime before speaking, “Do you also wish to seek revenge?”
Kiyohime only shook her head in response. “Blaze died in combat, and Echdina also lost her life. I have no reason to take revenge against her. The only ones who should suffer the wrath of Dragons are the dishonorable people who used treason and betrayal as a means to cement their success.”
Kiyohime was more angry about Zwei than Echidna, by far. Still, she did not show much emotion regarding her opinions on the matter.
“This means that you are already more than halfway through conquering the Mortal Realm. Do you think you will be able to wrap up everything before the Divine Beasts conference?”
“I will. Even the angels will not stop me.” He was confident in himself. If he could not even win against the angels, what right did he have to talk about facing the goddesses? “For now, we need to organize ourselves.”
Taking a deep breath, he explained his discussion with the Grand Priest and how he obtained the seed of the world tree. He did not speak about Siegfried. The man wanted to hide so Sol would not reveal anything about him yet. He would honor his patience of a millennium.
In the end, it was decided that Jasmine would stay. Leaving was simply not an option when the defense system of Southern Pride relied solely on her. Lustburg did not have that problem with their concentration of powerhouses. If with all the people in the Tower, someone could still attack Lustburg, then no barrier in the realms below would be able to protect them.
Kiyohime and Nidhogg were unable to follow them to Lustburg normally speaking. However, Sol was not one to let himself be deterred by rules.
“You two will enter my dimensions. I now have enough control over my powers that even beings of the Duke realm won’t be affected. So you have nothing to fear. I also wish to use your knowledge to develop the new World Tree for my dimension. Persephone will also be in charge of this.”
Sol could not wait hundreds of years or even a thousand years just to grow the tree. He had many ways to accelerate the growth.
Nidhogg scratched her cheek, “If I help you. What do I gain?”
“I will reward you appropriately.”
It was an extremely vague proposition with no concrete reward mentioned, but Nidhogg still agreed. She believed in Sol’s words and she had nothing to lose either way.
Kiyohime, on the other hand, was simply happy that she could still spend more time with Sol. It would be quite sad that after that embarrassing and relationship-defining battle that cemented their standing, she would still have to see him leave.
“As for Satella, I will leave your residency to Clara. It is unfortunate but we cannot officiate your entry into the human kingdom.”
“Please, do not worry about that. I can grasp the big picture. Furthermore, I do wish to explore the outside world. Siegfried may not be the most appreciated, but he has enough authority by his abilities to take over the duties of the realm for some time.”
Sol nodded and looked toward Camelia, “How were the springs?”
“Outside of the constant moaning while you were there, it was quite effective.” Camelia laughed.
“I am happy you feel better. Then —?”
“No. Still not yet. Furthermore, I feel like I found a new path for myself. Being robbed of my sight, opened my mind to see many new possibilities. I think simply being healed would destroy this new road I have chanced upon.”
Sol hesitated for a moment but did not insist. He could instinctively feel that she was not lying. It was always better if she chose to grasp her own way, he would always support his loved ones in their endeavors. He was absolutely certain she would come out stronger.
“Then I guess this wraps up everything.”
He clapped and stood up.
Now that it was really time to leave, Sol could not help but feel a little emotional. His stay in Southern Pride had been so short and yet full of many memorable events.
Yet this was not the end. Like always, when a story closed, a new story would start. He did not know what kind of Fate awaited him, even with all of his powers and abilities, but there was one thing he was sure of.
As long as he had these women around him, as long as he had people who supported him and fought alongside him, he would never give up.
For he had only one goal.
That to reach his Happy Ending.
