Chapter 1430: The Failed Attack of the Douluo Federation
Chapter 1430: Chapter 1430: The Failed Attack of the Douluo Federation
“Boss, you’ve grown stronger!”
Lan Xuanyu looked at Liu Feng and asked, “During this period, due to some special circumstances and my seclusion, I couldn’t return. Have the news I brought back been transmitted home?”
Liu Feng replied, “It was sent back immediately. Auntie found a way to return.”
Lan Xuanyu sighed in relief and said, “That’s good.” This time, things didn’t spiral out of control. “How are things back home currently? Did we receive any feedback after sending the news?”
Upon hearing this question, Qian Lei and Liu Feng’s expressions became noticeably serious.
“Things aren’t looking good. Upon learning about the formation of the Dragon Horse Federation, our federation was deeply shocked. The unification of the Dragon Horse Federation will undoubtedly cause significant trouble for us. What worries us the most is their potential to consolidate resources and grow stronger in a short period. Hence, the federation decided to take action against the formation of the Dragon Horse Federation.”
“Take action?” Lan Xuanyu frowned deeply. “What kind of actions? What’s the situation?”
Liu Feng responded, “The federation’s order to us was to stay dormant and continue hiding, avoiding exposure at all costs. The information we provided was of critical importance, earning us accolades for our merits. So, we’ve continued our cultivation. About a month ago, Auntie sent a message detailing the federation’s actions.”
“To avoid alerting the enemy, especially to conceal that our Douluo Federation was involved, the federation dispatched an elite Ghost Fleet, consisting of over a hundred warships built with the latest invisible technology. They disguised themselves as pirates and launched an attack on a newly-established military base of the Dragon Horse Federation. The goal was to destroy it, especially to eliminate key personnel.”
“Suicide attack?” Lan Xuanyu immediately grasped the nature of this operation. Attacking the Dragon Horse Federation’s base in their star system meant those warships stood no chance of survival, akin to a death squad. No matter how good their stealth was, they would be exposed once they struck. Besides, against Super God-level powerhouses, stealth technology on warships was virtually insignificant.
“Yes. They all perished. And they achieved nothing.” Liu Feng said, his voice somber.
Lan Xuanyu’s expression darkened. Over a hundred warships! How many outstanding soldiers must have sacrificed themselves?
Qian Lei interjected, “Our side didn’t suffer many casualties. Those warships were indeed equipped with the federation’s most advanced technology and were remotely operated from afar. To achieve this, the federation mobilized three motherships, using their most powerful radars for control. Although the loss of warships was severe, thankfully there were no human casualties. Still, this incident exposed us to the truly terrifying power of the Dragon Horse Star System.”
Lan Xuanyu visibly relaxed upon hearing there were no human losses. Losing warships was a recoverable setback—lives lost would have been irreversible.
“No casualties are a small mercy amidst the misfortune. Was it Dragon Knights or Sky Horse Knights that were encountered?” Lan Xuanyu asked.
Qian Lei replied, “Dragon Knights. We didn’t see any footage, but we heard that only three Dragon Knights took action and completely obliterated our invisible fleet. Auntie described this to us, and her eyes were filled with fear. She must have seen some image herself. The Dragon Knights are just inconceivably powerful! Three Dragon Knights single-handedly annihilated a fleet of over a hundred warships. Even though it was a suicide attack, the fleet included twelve battleships loaded with heavy firepower. Yet, they couldn’t even approach that base before being wiped out.”
Lan Xuanyu took a deep breath, silently reflecting that this was truly a case of dimensionality reduction in combat. Dragon Knights operated at a Four-dimensional level. Unless facing Mothership-level Space Fortresses unaffected by three- or four-dimensional equivalence, ordinary warships simply couldn’t pose a threat to them.
After breaking through to God Rank, Lan Xuanyu understood more deeply just how formidable that level truly was.
“Have you managed to contact my parents?” Lan Xuanyu asked further.
“No,” the two responded simultaneously.
Lan Xuanyu said, “Gather everyone. Let’s hold a meeting.”
A short while later, all the members of the Thirty-Three Skywing who were still at home, along with the recently returned Yuanen Guangjun, assembled in the largest room of their residence.
Seeing Lan Xuanyu’s return, everyone couldn’t help but rejoice greatly. Only Lan Mengqin had a pale face, looking at him with a gaze full of hesitation.
Lan Xuanyu’s lips moved slightly as he transmitted a few words to Lan Mengqin. Initially, she was stunned but quickly became overjoyed, and her expression changed dramatically.
Her mood swing clearly reflected the influence of Jade Swan Bi Ji. Lan Xuanyu relayed the same message he had previously told Bai Xiuxiu to her, naturally calming her down.
Upon seeing Lan Xuanyu, Yuanen Guangjun finally breathed a sigh of relief.
During this period, Yuanen Guangjun had experienced tremendous stress, especially after the federation’s attempt to destroy the newly-established Dragon Horse Federation base ended in disaster for the fleet. Her anxiety had only deepened further.
The descriptions provided by Liu Feng and Qian Lei were succinct, but in reality, the federation had mobilized an immense amount of resources and employed numerous destructive weapons for that attack. Yet they failed even to reach the base perimeter, being wiped out instead. This setback was colossal for the federation.
Most critically, after this experience, the federation had become extremely cautious, hesitant to act recklessly.
The Dragon Horse Federation lacked concrete evidence to prove Douluo Federation’s involvement in the attack. Yet, who else but the Douluo Federation could muster such a fleet overnight? And would ordinary pirate fleets be foolhardy enough to launch an assault near Sky Dragon Planet?
The Dragon Horse Federation issued stern warnings to the Douluo Federation, stating that if similar attacks occurred again, Dragon Knights would appear on Douluo Federation’s Administrative Planets.
Compared to fleets, Super God-level powerhouses were the ones truly undefendable!
Still, could they simply watch the Dragon Horse Federation continue developing? For the Douluo Federation, doing nothing was akin to walking down the path of destruction. The unparalleled strength of the Dragon Knights, previously known only through Lan Xuanyu’s reports, was now comprehensively demonstrated in space combat. They finally understood how terrifying the destructive power of Super God-level individuals truly was.
Three Dragon Knights, along with their three Mount Dragons, collectively equaled six Super God-level powerhouses. If they fought without reservation, even a mothership might not hold its ground, let alone destroy them. Destroying such individuals truly remained an almost insurmountable challenge.
Recently, tensions within the federation had skyrocketed as various potential strategies were discussed repeatedly but to no avail.
Military aggression was out of the question. As things currently stood, it was evident that the Dragon Horse Star System possessed the capability to obliterate the federation’s major Administrative Planets. Yet letting the Dragon Horse Federation develop unchecked would undoubtedly spell doom for the Douluo Federation eventually.
Yuanen Guangjun, fully aware of the federation’s plight, was desperate for more information from Lan Xuanyu to relay back to headquarters. The more intelligence they could gather, the better equipped the federation would be to formulate countermeasures. Yet ever since Lan Xuanyu delivered the initial reports, he had vanished without a trace.
In this system, one day equaled thirty-six hours. Meaning one hour felt like over a hundred days elsewhere. Yuanen Guangjun had grown as anxious as an ant frying on a hot pan.
“You finally came back!” Her gaze upon Lan Xuanyu resembled that of a grieving wife yearning for her partner. She almost threw herself at him.
Lan Xuanyu apologized, “I’m truly sorry. Recently, I’ve been under close scrutiny from the Dragon Knights. It took tremendous effort to find an opportunity to return.”
Yuanen Guangjun gazed at him intently, her expression complicated. “It’s fine, your safety comes first. Right now, ensuring your survival is paramount.” Her words were undeniably sincere. Without Lan Xuanyu, where could she find first-hand intelligence or discover the formation of the Dragon Horse Federation? This accomplishment was monumental. Lan Xuanyu’s stature within the Fighting Sky Department continued to rise rapidly. Direct orders had come from above, stating that despite whatever situation arose, Lan Xuanyu’s safety must take precedence. His role as the highest-ranking infiltrator in the Dragon Horse Federation was of utmost importance!
