Spirit Vessel

Chapter 1217: Buddha Ape

Chapter 1217: Buddha Ape

“Boom!” The phantom crab fell to the ground after losing another leg.

Phoenix Goddess landed on its head and placed a special talisman, “saint’s avatar”. She leaped into the air and created a beautiful arc, landing next to Feiyun.

The talisman activated and changed into the image of a phoenix with a divine claw, fully killing the crab’s soul.

The crab tried to resist but couldn’t stop a saint’s attack, departing this world.

“A demi-saint indeed, nearly injuring Senior Di Zhong’s remains.” Feiyun heaved a sigh of relief.

He recalled the inner core. The fight used up ninety percent of the core’s power so if the fight had lasted a bit longer, he would have needed to run.

Dizziness took over so he ate a vermillion grass to recover.

“The crab is born here and doesn’t know techniques or have a weapon. A demi-saint phoenix would be ten times stronger.” The goddess said.

“The violet flame here makes it stronger too while Senior Di Zhong’s remains are suppressed here, that made it so much harder.” He said while not telling her about his special regalia.

If he were to let Di Zhong wear it, he would be able to kill a demi-saint in one move. However, the leather was made from the skin of Immemorial Divine Phoenix. This was a taboo to the phoenixes so he couldn’t let them know.

“Raa!” The dead crab twitched and roared thunderously, causing everyone to back off.

However, it wasn’t actually coming back to life.

“Shit! That’s a wail of hatred, it’s telling the other beasts about us, we need to move faster!” The turtle said.

“Take the corpse now and separate later, I feel a monstrous power coming.” The goddess said and took the crab into a spatial stone, running away with Feiyun.

Alas, they were too late. A fiery claw descended from the sky - something far beyond the might of the crab earlier.

“I got it!” The turtle’s shell became larger and protected everyone.

“Run!”

The fruit turned into a black mountain and carried the group away with maximum speed.

“Raa!” A colossal mouth blocked their path. They had no idea what kind of creature this was.

Although the fruit had incredible speed, it panicked before a true master. The roars from it nearly ruptured their eardrums.

Feiyun opened his eyes and summoned the azure vessel for everyone. He stood on deck and reversed course deeper into the mountain range.

“You’re crazy, there are more powerful creatures in there.” The turtle turned pale.

“We might survive if we run out, but Firebird Saintess and the others will die, that’s why we have to grasp life from the jaw of death deeper inside.” Feiyun said.

They sped through the violet flames and entered the fifth level - Buddha golden flames.

Everyone would be burned to a crisp if it wasn’t for the ship’s protection.

“The flames here are enough to deal with pseudo-saints, but this is a paradise for fire-affinity creatures born here. They can’t leave though, it’s too cold outside for them.” The phoenix said.

Every living being had unique requirements for survival. Leaving the right circumstances could result in death.

“Boom!” A towering being with golden fur appeared, attempting to strike the vessel.

The vessel shrank down and flew through the finger gaps, barely escaping.

“Damn! That was a Buddha Ape from the legends. One appeared in Time Immemorial, capable of fighting saints before reaching that realm. Shit, it’s after us!” The turtle shouted and hid in its shell.

The ape opened its mouth and shouted a Buddhist chant. This was one of the most frightening races but due to their low population, they weren’t as dominant as dragons and phoenixes. A mature one could fight saints without needing cultivation.

“Boom!” It traveled thousands of meters with each step. The mountains looked tiny in comparison. However, it was still a baby and couldn’t catch up to the vessel.

The group heaved a sigh of relief but this reprieve was temporary. Another monstrous creature could be sensed ahead.

Due to its size, they only saw its tentacle stretching out from an ocean of golden flames. It seemed to be around seven hundred miles long, looking like a dragon.

The tentacle alone nearly smashed the vessel, forcing the group to stop. They were surrounded on both sides.

Phoenix Goddess’ expression soured, intending to use the queen’s power.

“Don’t use it, we’re heading to that mountain, I sense a formation left behind by the great phoenix.” Feiyun said and steered the vessel left toward a majestic mountain with wondrous relics from an ancient age.
