Springtime Farming: A Happy Wife At Home

Chapter 2246: Inspection

Chapter 2246: Inspection

Shao Yunduan burst into laughter, a hint of playful disappointment in his expression.

Regardless of whether the Su family might act impulsively, spring plowing remained their foremost concern.

Once Shao Yunduan had everything arranged, he accompanied Qiao Xuan to select several counties to inspect the progress of spring plowing.

He couldn’t shake the feeling that his wife was more familiar with the fields than he was. Despite his early exposure to farming, Qiao Xuan had spent much of her youth confined to the inner residence, unable to roam freely.

Yet, sometimes, talents emerged unexpectedly. Qiao Xuan had a natural affinity for gardening and exploring the mountains. Shao Yunduan had been perplexed and secretly observed her activities, finding no clear explanation. Talent, he concluded, was truly mysterious.

He didn’t find it difficult to accept such a phenomenon. After all, tales of extraordinary abilities were not unheard of in this world. Perhaps his wife possessed a unique knack for agriculture that others lacked.

For him, this was a blessing to cherish.

Regardless, she was his beloved wife, the companion he cherished.

Qiao Xuan hadn’t explored much of Huaixi province before, so she relished this opportunity to travel with Shao Yunduan, thoroughly enjoying herself.

They left Anan behind for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Anan had recently accompanied Shao Yunduan to Huaixi Pass and was so enthralled by the experience that he wanted to stay in school a while longer. Secondly, Shao Yunduan desired to have this journey alone with his wife.

It wasn’t until about half a month after their departure that Shao Yunduan arranged for Anan to be sent to Anze Province. They planned to return to Anze Province on their way to visit family.

Moreover, Anze Province held numerous properties belonging to Qiao Xuan, which she was contemplating.

Six or seven days after Qiao Xuan and Shao Yunduan departed from the province, Consort Su and her entourage finally returned to Jiangning.

They were back at last!

Consort Su wasn’t the only one feeling this way; Consort Fu and all who had accompanied them shared similar sentiments.

When they left Jiangning, they were filled with vigor and confidence. After all, as direct subordinates of the Emperor, escorting the Imperial Concubine was a matter of upholding the Tian family’s honor. They expected respect wherever they went.

However, it turned into a mockery in Huaixi Province. They returned with their tails between their legs, feeling utterly dejected.

Ultimately, home territory seemed far preferable!

Now that they were back, they resumed their roles as the esteemed attendants of the Emperor. People were courteous and deferential, treating them with utmost respect whenever they encountered them.

Of course, Consort Su was deeply affected by this turn of events.

Upon seeing the Third Prince, Consort Su burst into tears, accusing Qiao Xuan of being wicked and unforgivable. She insisted that nothing short of annihilating Qiao Xuan’s entire family would suffice as punishment.

Consort Su believed Qiao Xuan dared to humiliate, bully, and ridicule her because she often asserted, “Who does the Emperor think he is? He has no authority over Huaixi province!” and “There are three Emperors in the world; it’s unclear who among them is the real traitor!” She believed no one other than Shao Yunduan could have instigated such defiance.

Without Shao Yunduan’s backing, she wouldn’t dare act so boldly. She was merely a woman who relied on her husband for survival.

If Shao Yunduan had respected the Emperor’s authority, she wouldn’t have faced such harsh consequences…
