Chapter 818

Dio and Wanda just happened to see the video of Spiderman’s interview. Dio noticed that Spiderman looked a little bit nervous in the video, but Dio and Wanda just smiled and laughed at him for being so stiff against a reporter alone. Dio and Wanda knew why Tony chose Spiderman as his successor, and it was priceless to see Spiderman being nervous like this.

But suddenly, Dio was thrown out of the sofa towards a wall! The sofa that Dio and Wanda used earlier was destroyed! Fortunately, this time Wanda didn’t go too far as she immediately reined in her ability.

Dio pulled himself out of the wall and immediately cames to Wanda’s side.

“I am sorry!” Wanda said with a sad expression on her face.

“It’s okay! It’s not your fault, Wanda! Don’t forget, I am the strongest Avengers! Nobody can harm me, not even you!” Dio said comfortingly. He constantly reminds Wanda that he was powerful and Wanda wouldn’t hurt him. 

Still, the trace of Wanda’s destruction remained somewhere. Now, it was the Human-sized hole on the wall. Wanda knew that Dio didn’t want her to think of herself as a burden, but sometimes she couldn’t help but think that way. 

In fact, she wanted to stay on this island alone after nearly killing everyone the first time she lost control of her power. She was scared of hurting everyone around her, especially Dio and Pietro! The two most important men in her life. But Dio insisted on staying with her to take care of her. But everyone else did leave as they didn’t have the ability to withstand Wanda’s power like Dio.

Wanda remained worried every day as she didn’t know why she suddenly became like this, but she definitely could feel that her power was growing out of control every day. For now, she could rely on her willpower to suppress it, but what if she could no longer suppress it with her willpower alone?

Could she protect the child that was about to be born from her own power? What if something happened to Dio before he could protect his own child? This train of thought was also the reason why Wanda found it hard to sleep at night. The fear that everything had been reduced to ruins when she opened her eyes scared her immensely. 

Coupled with her pregnancy hormone and anxiety, she found it hard to calm herself down.

“What are you thinking, beautiful?” Dio said after he cleaned the ruined sofa and put a small toy from his pocket, growing it in size to replace the sofa. But instead of answering Dio, Wanda just frowned, and Dio knew that Wanda was still bothered by her power going out of control.

“Come on, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Don’t worry about me. Even Thanos, the tyrant, couldn’t kill me! Do you feel so confident that your power will be able to murder your husband?” Dio said with a smile on his face. 

Dio then carried Wanda and sat her on the new sofa before sitting beside Wanda. Dio had already bought a lot of furniture in case something like this ever happened, and he was glad it came in handy. 

Dio didn’t only have a couple of sets of furniture, but he also had a few more villas if he ever needed one right away! Because of the excessive use of the Pym Particles, Hank Pym even tried to avoid Dio at all costs! 

As for money, Dio didn’t have to worry about it as T’challa and Tony were ready to help him with it anytime. So, Dio didn’t really need to worry about money right now, and he quite liked it this way! 

“Look! I am just worried that our child would have no dad when they are born! Am I not allowed to worry about you?” Wanda said, but her expression was still blue.

“Well, I believe it’s not something you need to worry about, my love! I will live forever with you!” Dio said with a big smile on his face. 

Wanda just frowned and puffed her cheeks like she still couldn’t believe Dio’s word. Dio just smiled as he felt that Wanda had become more feminine since her entering her pregnancy, and honestly, she became lovelier than she ever was. 

But Dio knew that Wanda’s tough personality was still there. It wouldn’t go away as what she experienced from her childhood until now has made her that way. Wanda has protected Pietro on so many occasions, and it was safe to say they haven’t been separated for too long. The affection they had for each other was indescribable. 

Honestly, this was probably the longest time Wanda has been separated from Pietro, while Pietro has gone through 3 years without Wanda since the Snap incident. Nevertheless, Wanda’s attention has been shifted to Dio now, and she would even do something that she never thought she would actually be capable of doing in front of Dio! 

Although she wasn’t really good at many things, Dio tolerated her without any limit. Dio saw that she was trying, and it was a learning experience for her. 

Dio was no longer a warrior. He was a person who had his own life, with his family and friends! Dio was shocked that he could live this way, but he was happy that he could live with Wanda. 

“Do you ever think our child would carry on the banner of the Avengers in the future?” Wanda asked curiously. She could feel that Dio strongly believed their child would be a hero, just as Tony believed his daughter would be one as well. 

Nevertheless, she knew that it wasn’t for her to decide as she would support it only if her child wanted to. But for now, she knew that she didn’t have to worry about any of that. 

Power wasn’t a problem here as Dio and Wanda both had extraordinary powers. But what her child should need was leadership capabilities. She knew that both she and Dio had some flaws in leadership skills. 

In Avengers, there were three recognized leaders. It was Tony, Steve, and finally, Dio that has always acted on the outside. Dio wasn’t necessarily a leader, but since he wasn’t tied down by the rules, he was considered a leader of his own. 

This was clear when the Avengers devised some plan, as even Tony and Steve would stop arguing as soon as Dio started to speak. Everyone wouldn’t say it directly, but they definitely thought that Dio was the most reliable person in the Avengers. 

Everyone knew that Dio had his own shortcomings and inconsistencies. Everyone even knew that Dio had tendencies to disregard lives that weren’t exactly connected with himself. A person that lacked compassion! But it didn’t prevent the Avengers from respecting him from the bottom of their heart and putting their utmost trust in Dio!
