Chapter 3804: Success And Failure

Chapter 3804: Success And Failure

Lu Yin was astonished. “They want to create another Everchange Valley?”

Elder Le nodded, and Lu Siyu added, “Fourth Sister felt that it was too strange that the Autumnspring Slip wouldn’t release her brother, so she kept investigating. She eventually discovered that they intend to use Ming Xiaochou as the core of a new Everchange Valley.”

“Is that even possible?” Lu Yin doubted it. “Even the world of cultivators has rules. Even if Ming Xiaochou betrays the Everchange Valley, it’s not possible to simply create another Everchange Valley. First of all, the Everchange Valley would never allow such a thing, which would lead to war. Second, other organizations also would not stand for it. If a second Everchange Valley is allowed to be established today, then what would stop someone from copying another sect tomorrow? The megaverse would descend into chaos and endless slaughter.”

Even if the cultivation world was already rife with conflict, motives were still important. If the Autumnspring Slip pursued this avenue, they would become a public enemy to the entire megaverse.

Elder Le replied, “In principle, it can’t be done. However, the Autumnspring Slip’s cultivation method is unique. They can use their own method as the foundation to remake heaven and earth, transforming the world. They can simply ignore the natural Heaven and Earth Aura, view things through the lens of the Everchange Valley’s perspective, and then impose the aura that they have created. In that manner, they can replicate everything that the Everchange Valley is capable of doing.

“While it is certainly morally dubious, because this would be their own innovation, the consequences would not be nearly as grave. They would not be universally targeted. Besides, my Everchange Valley’s strict rules have long since irritated many. If the Autumnspring Slip can duplicate our abilities without our rules, many will be quite pleased, since-”

Lu Siyu looked up. “Since the Autumnspring Slip is despicable.”

Elder Le fell silent.

“Fortunately, while Ming Xiaochou is arrogant, he also has unyielding determination. He has not yet helped the Autumnspring Slip, and he has even refused to cultivate the Everchange Valley’s Heaven and Earth Aura any longer, which has left the Autumnspring Slip quite helpless.” When Lu Siyu finished, she looked over at Lu Yin. “Can you help Fourth Sister get Ming Xiaochou out of the Autumnspring Slip?”

Elder Le also looked at Lu Yin with naked hope in his eyes.

Before the events of the competition for the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster, neither would have placed their hopes on Lu Yin. The Autumnspring Slip was one of the great powers of their megaverse, and they were just as powerful as the Four Commands Sword Sect. Furthermore, the Autumnspring Slip was insidious with unique cultivation arts, which made it very difficult to deal with the sect.

However, both Elder Le and Lu Siyu had learned just how formidable Lu Yin was. While he might not be powerful enough to run rampant across the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse, very few people could suppress him. The Four Commands Sword Sect was not capable of doing so, which meant that neither was the Autumnspring Slip.

If Lu Yin took action, the Autumnspring Slip would undoubtedly feel pressured. With the Everchange Valley supporting Lu Yin, it might just be possible to secure Ming Xiaochou’s release.

Lu Yin thought for a moment. “This is quite difficult. The Everchange Valley can’t force the Autumnspring Slip to return him, and neither can I.”

Lu Siyu instantly grew anxious. “Then you-”

“If I can’t force them to comply, I’ll simply erase them,” Lu Yin continued, cutting the woman off.

Lu Siyu’s words got stuck in her throat, and Elder Le stared at Lu Yin in a daze.

Erase them? Erase the Autumnspring Slip? What a joke! The Autumnspring Slip is a major power in the megaverse! You can’t just decide that you’re going to erase them.

It was incredibly difficult to erase any powerful faction in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse not only because of their visible strength, but also because of their hidden foundations.

The Ruler Garden was a perfect example. While Yanbo Haomiao had publicly been their only peak Dukkhan, they had spirit seeds that could raise Yanbo Hongli to the same level, as well as produce several more Dukkhans, all of whom had cultivated the Nine-Rulers: Heaven-Defying Art. With Yue Ya’s support, that technique had been able to envelop the entire Consciousness Megaverse.

The Ruler Garden had never been the strongest organization in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, and they had actually been weaker than the Autumnspring Slip. That was a place with incredibly deep foundations.

There was a saying that everyone in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse accepted as truth: aside from the Greater Sancti, no one could roam the megaverse unchecked.

Even a Lesser Sancte would find it extremely difficult to truly wipe out any of the great factions.

There were many who detested the Autumnspring Slip, especially the Sixth Odyssey, which the Autumnspring Slip had offended irreconcilably. But despite that, the sect had remained untouched all along. This served to perfectly prove the point.

Chao Yi had joined Deathmound, where he had plotted day and night to get revenge on Ruler Garden. However, if not for the fact that Yue Ya had convinced Ruler Garden to commit an unforgivable crime, Chao Yi would have never had any chance at all. Ruler Garden had feared Chao Yi’s revenge, and that fear had prompted them to seek Yue Ya’s protection. This was not because of Chao Yi himself, but rather because he had joined Deathmound and gained the support of their vengeful, over-protective Great Master.

Deathmound was likely one of the very few organizations which genuinely possessed the power and authority to speak about eliminating another organization.

These were the reasons why Lu Suyi and Elder Le had reacted like Lu Yin was speaking of a wild fantasy when they heard him make such an outrageous claim.

Lu Yin was fully aware of the two’s thoughts. In fact, even if the High Seraph and all of the Spirit Nidus’s Seven Seraphs stormed into the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, they would most likely fail to completely destroy the Autumnspring Slip, not to mention a solitary individual like Lu Yin.

However, that solitary man had already survived against an Immortal realm monster, confronted Master Qing Cao, completely overpowered both the High Seraph and Yue Ya, and even considered how he could go about resisting Greater Sancte Green Lotus. Such things far exceeded anything that Lu Siyu or Elder Le had ever considered.

The two glanced at each other, at a loss for words and wondering if Lu Yin had gotten carried away after he had succeeded in helping Lu Sizhan become the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster.

“Where is the Autumnspring Slip currently located?” Lu Yin asked.

Elder Le immediately replied, “It’s drifted into Ridgeplain.”

“Ridgeplain? That’s not far from your Everchange Valley, is it?” Lu Siyu asked.

“It’s roughly half the distance away from my Everchange Valley that your Four Commands Sword Sect is. In fact, all three sects are currently along a single line.”

“Are you saying that it’s necessary to pass through the Everchange Valley in order to reach the Autumnspring Slip?” Lu Yin asked.

“Yes,” Elder Le agreed.

Lu Yin thought for a moment. “Then why don’t I pay a visit to your Everchange Valley first?”

The comment caught Lu Siyu off guard, and she shot a wary glare at Lu Yin. “Why do you want to visit the Everchange Valley?”

“How is that any of your business?” Lu Yin shot back.

Lu Siyu snorted. “You want to see my Fourth Sister, don’t you? I’m warning you—don’t even think about going after her! She’s too gentle.”

“Sounds like a good girl.”

“What did you say!”

“I...”

Elder Le stayed silent. He had no idea why Lu Yin wanted to visit Everchange Valley, but since the man was agreeing to help, they were in no position to refuse to accept him as a guest.

What exactly is this man’s connection to the Seven Fairies? He helped Lu Sizhan become the Grand Swordmaster, and now our young lady wants him to rescue Ming Xiaochou. Could this be some test given to him by Greater Sancte Green Lotus?

That thought instantly prompted Elder Le to become much more respectful towards Lu Yin. If his suspicions were correct, then it was quite possible that Lu Yin would eventually become one of Greater Sancte Green Lotus’s formal disciples.

No wonder Ming Zhou was so friendly with him.

Still, is my young lady’s task not too difficult? If Ming Xiaochou can’t be rescued and this man fails his test, will he take out his anger on my Everchange Valley?

Elder Le arrived at the exact same conclusion as Lu Sizhan, just as any reasonable person would.

It was not long before Elder Le’s carriage arrived just outside the East Command, where it awaited Lu Yin.

Lu Yin went to bid Lu Sizhan farewell, but he first asked a question. “What is necessary for one to become a Lesser Sancte?”

Lu Yin had already asked Ming Zhou this question, but the man had hurried off without giving a real answer. Before that, Lu Yin had asked Si Jiushi, but that man’s level was too low to know all the key details. Lu Sizhan was a perfect option to get some information from.

The question startled the Grand Swordmaster. “Do you wish to become a Lesser Sancte?”

Lu Yin nodded. He had once sent word to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse via Chao Yi that his price of releasing his hostages from the Spirit Nidus was the title of Lesser Sancte, but Lu Yin had since lost his leverage and had no way to return to the Spirit Nidus for the time being. Thus, his previous condition could no longer be considered valid.

Lu Sizhan stared intently at the young man. “It is extremely difficult to become a Lesser Sancte. Possessing sufficient combat strength and cultivation are only part of the criteria, and they are far from the most important requirements.

“There are a number of peak Dukkhans in our Nine Odysseys Megaverse, to the point where practically every faction of note has at least one. That’s not even considering those who achieved that level through Seed Transfusion.

“Even so, there are only ever five Lesser Sancti. To earn that title, one first needs to be as powerful as a peak Dukkhan. Next, it’s necessary for a person to create an entirely unique cultivation system and also demonstrate the potential to become an Immortal. That includes never cultivating sequence particles. This is so that a person can eventually pick up Path Initiation. Finally, one must not practice a Soul legacy skill, demonstrating the will to stand beneath no one. One cannot be a member of any faction, and ideally, must have served as an Odyssey Commander. Only by fulfilling all of those requirements can one obtain the title of Lesser Sancte.”

Lu Yin arched a brow. That was quite the number of requirements, and it was much more than what Si Jiushi had mentioned. “Are you saying that every Lesser Sancte needs to develop their own, unique cultivation system?”

“Correct. Of the five current Lesser Sancti- no, there are only three now. The High Seraph was given his title. But because he is both from the Spirit Nidus and his cultivation system differs greatly from ours, it is regarded as a unique cultivation method.

“Lesser Sancte Dan Jin created the path of alchemy, which allowed the Nine Odysseys Megaverse to avoid a specific crisis, earning her universal respect.

“Lesser Sancte Xing Fan connected the Nine Odysseys Megaverse to the Spirit Nidus. There are many tasks that only she can carry out, which similarly proves that she has developed a unique cultivation system.

“The late Lesser Sancte Ru Shi, who was slain by the High Seraph, created his Wayfinder Sutra. He only cultivated his sutra, discarding all other options. It was something that our megaverse had never seen before.

“Yue Ya has lost his title of Lesser Sancte, but he is a being of manifested thought, and his mere existence can be considered a unique cultivation system.

“Each Lesser Sancti possesses a unique power, yet their greatest accomplishments were not that.” The man grew solemn as he continued, “Rather, it was that they were able to use their self-created method to become invincible Dukkhans. None relied on sequence particles or a Soul legacy skill. That is what is truly the most difficult requirement.

“Just imagine how difficult it must be to remain an unbeatable Dukkhan despite being shackled by so many restrictions! I certainly can’t do it. There are less than a handful out of all the leaders of the major powers who I know that might be capable of even getting close to that. Even so, if they unleashed their full power, they still would most likely not be a match for any of the Lesser Sancti. On top of that, if a Lesser Sancti abandons their title and unleashes their full power, their combat strength would become unimaginable.

“The Lesser Sancti stand between the Dukkhans and the Immortals. Saying that they are peak Dukkhans is completely insufficient.”

Lu Yin had fought against both Yue Ya and the High Seraph, and he understood how strong they both were. There was no denying that Lu Sizhan was no match for those two. Not even Old Chief, who had possessed the power of a peak Dukkhan, had been able to stand up to those two men. The gap was significant, and neither man had ever used a Soul legacy skill. Additionally, Lu Yin had never seen Yue Ya use any sequence particles at all.

But when compared to the requirements of combat strength, the restrictions of serving as an Odyssey Commander and not being tied to any faction were equally critical. Not everyone could be free of such entanglements. The stronger the faction, the more likely it was to produce an invincible expert. However, those experts had deep roots in those powerful factions, and it was extremely difficult to break free. Ultimately, those geniuses would rise or fall because of their factions.

Lu Sizhan would never be able to become a Lesser Sancti without abandoning the Four Commands Sword Sect.

The Ru family was nothing more than a single family, and they had never been a major power.

Lu Yin departed, entering Elder Le’s carriage and leaving for the Everchange Valley.

As he watched the carriage vanish, Lu Sizhan let out a breath. Finally, that man was gone.

Lu Yin’s actions in the Four Commands Sword Sect had enraged the sect, but he had also earned its respect. He had used terrifying methods, but possessed an admirable character. It was best to keep such a person at a distance.

“It would be best if he never comes back,” Lu Siyu called out.

Lu Sizhan sighed. “This megaverse is about to change.”

Lu Siyu grew puzzled. “What does that mean, Old Lu?”
