Chapter 3851: Regressing To The Ancient Era
Chapter 3851: Regressing To The Ancient Era
At the Fifth Night Pillar, the Azuresword Sovereign stood frozen in place as he blankly stared into the distance at the scene that was playing out. He had just tried to attack, slashing his sword at the character, only to suddenly stop when his sword trembled. He had felt a premonition that, if he continued the attack, he would be the one to die.
How could that man only be entering the Origin realm now? How could such a person exist?
Yue Ya had completely vanished, having disappeared twelve years ago. That was when Yue Ya had fought against Lu Yin, and thus he no longer needed the Azuresword Sovereign. In that case, how could he become the Odyssey Commander? If the Fifth Night Pillar was sent to the Tianyuan Megaverse, how could he face Lu Yin? Perhaps... it would be better to not become the Odyssey Commander.
The Azuresword Sovereign’s thoughts were in chaos.
...
Countless people were shaken and unable to calm themselves due to the disruption caused by Lu Yin’s breakthrough to the Origin realm. Not only was he revealing his breakthrough, but he was also showing that he had defeated the entirety of the Autumnspring Slip before even becoming an Ortuser. This was proof of his invincible strength, as well as a demonstration that he no longer feared the Nine Odysseys Megaverse discovering his true identity. He was acting with unshakable confidence.
There had to be a Greater Sancte supporting him.
In the future, Lu Yin would be able to freely roam about the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, and no one could stop him.
While the characters and the scenes that they revealed represented Lu Yin’s past, they also heralded his arrival in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.
In the East Domain, along the banks of the river, everyone’s mouths fell open as they stared in shock.
To them, only someone who stood at the peak could break into the Origin realm, and yet Lu Yin’s breakthrough exceeded all imagination.
The man from the South Domain’s Hong clan felt relieved that he had demonstrated a proper attitude; without that, he would not still be alive.
This man had to have shaken the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse.
...
Lu Yin stood high in the sky, looking down across the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. He had just announced his arrival. Given his level of power, there was no longer any reason to hide his identity, as he had in the Perennial World and the Spirit Nidus. He was the ruler of the Tianyuan Megaverse, someone who stood beneath only Immortals.
Greater Sancte Green Lotus’s stance had been made clear: Lu Yin had his support. In that case, what did Lu Yin still have to fear?
He was in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, carrying the will of the Tianyuan.
As he looked over at the distant Mother Tree, he slowly stated, “I am Lu Yin, from the Tianyuan Megaverse. I have come to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse only to ensure the safety of my home.”
A powerful voice echoed across the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, each word resounding and ensuring that countless creatures heard them. “No matter how those of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse see my megaverse, whether with disregard or disdain, I, Lu Yin, am right here.
“If you see me as a friend, then we are friends. If you see me as an enemy, then even if the whole cosmos stands against me, I will not be afraid of anyone.
“Whatever megaverse is ruled by humans, we shall protect it forever. I, Lu Yin, will not shy away from my duty. No matter if it is the Nine Odysseys, Spirit Nidus, or Tianyuan megaverses, I will protect my friends with my life, and I will show no mercy to my enemies.
“If anyone dares to threaten the Tianyuan, I, Lu Yin, am standing right here, and I am able to bury all opponents in the cosmos.
“Here, in the name of Tianyuan, I am in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. I hope to earn the recognition of this megaverse, and I, Lu Yin, will remain forever grateful.”
His voice echoed across the ground and sky, and for a single moment, the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse fell silent.𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Other than the Greater Sancti, no one had ever managed to silence the entire megaverse before.
Both the major forces that formed the Temporal Heavens and the battle-hardened warriors of the Nine Odysseys were shaken by Lu Yin’s overwhelming display of dominance.
His words conveyed both his respect for the Nine Odysseys Megaverse and his desire to stand with it, while also issuing a challenge to the entire megaverse. Who could possibly stand against this man?
He was clearly fully capable of burying anyone who intended to harm the Tianyuan Megaverse.
Too domineering.
How many people in the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse truly cared about the three megaverses? Most were indifferent to what they considered the lower megaverses, while others, such as Qian Shu, held outright contempt for those places. They believed that nothing from any of the three lower megaverses could have a place in the Nine Odysseys megaverse, that their mere presence was an insult.
Lu Yin sought to crush such prejudice on his own by using his own overwhelming combat strength to subdue the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.
Everyone understood that his words had been heard by the Greater Sancti. If any one of the Immortals was annoyed or offended and decided to act, what would Lu Yin do? Everyone was wondering that question, and they waited to see the answer.
In the Sea of Karma, even Greater Sancte Green Lotus was stunned. He had not expected Lu Yin to do something as domineering as openly challenging the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse. This was going far beyond merely being brazen.
However, aside from the three Greater Sancti, it did indeed appear that no one in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse could match Lu Yin.
Green Lotus was well aware that, at the moment, Lu Yin was undeniably the fourth-most powerful individual in the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Even if the three megaverses were included, at best Master Qing Cao could be added to the list, but Lu Yin would still remain in the top five.
“He is far too arrogant! Given his personality, are you sure you want him as your son-in-law, Awe Gate? He won’t be easy to discipline,” Blood Tower commented happily.
When Awe Gate replied, there was a smile in their tone. “I like his personality.”
Greater Sancte Green Lotus shook his head. “Young people... without a strong enough personality, how can they have any spirit? Others have lived far too long, and their personalities have long since worn away. They forget that Lu Yin is still young. How long has he lived for? A few hundred years? Any random cultivator has lived much longer than that. He’s just like my seven little disciples: full of personality. Some are unruly, while others are reserved, but it’s all aspects of their personalities.”
Blood Tower said, “We may know how strong he is, but others don’t. There are some people who won’t be able to sit still.”
Awe Gate replied, “Still, so long as neither of us make a move, they’ll be cautious.”
“That’s true. In that case, why don’t we- Wait,” Blood Tower suddenly stopped, astonished. “A phenomenon?”
Greater Sancte Green Lotus immediately stepped forward, focused on where Lu Yin was standing. Behind the young man, the True Void that he had torn open slowly warped. Within the distortion, countless scenes were constantly shifting. Even the Immortals could not make out the scenes, as they were shifting too quickly. The mighty power of time was at work, and each scene was an image of time itself.
Lu Yin turned around and also saw the shifting scenes. He was surprised, but then he remembered that every last one of his major breakthroughs had been accompanied by a phenomenon. Each one had also shown that great tree. Was that going to happen again?
As he was thinking, a scene suddenly stopped. A stream appeared beneath his feet, flowing through the sky. Lu Yin stared at it in a daze. Was this the River of Aeons?
In the Nine Odysseys Megaverse’s East Domain, countless people who had been watching Lu Yin’s breakthrough were stunned by the sight.
Originally, only a few people in the Tianyuan Megaverse had been able to recognize the River of Aeons, but there were too many such experts in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, and the river in the sky was instantly recognized.
Greater Sancte Green Lotus was astonished. “Has the River of Aeons appeared?”
In the sky high above the East Domain, Lu Yin’s eyes followed the River of Aeons. Upstream, he saw a massive tree whose limbs were constantly stretching out. It looked like a giant holding the sky open, propped up from the ground. Objects hung from every branch, and Lu Yin knew what those items were: mirebound artifacts.
The River of Aeons seemed to flow from that massive tree.
When Lu Yin’s eyes moved down from the tree, he saw figures moving up the River of Aeons, moving upstream, against the current, rushing to get closer to the tree.
Something that he had heard long ago flashed through Lu Yin’s mind: “When the megaverse first formed, all things were pure, and then the River of Time came into being. The purer something is, the easier it is to become tainted. Beneath the River of Time, there are things that swim against the current, and they carry objects from the future that can corrupt what is pure. These items are called mirebound artifacts.”
The scene before him closely resembled what he had once heard.
People moving against the current of the River of Aeons, carrying items from the future?
Lu Yin, without even knowing why, instinctively raised a foot. Lightstream flickered as he started to move up the River of Aeons, traveling against the current.
Since those people were able to go against the current, so could he.
No average cultivator could travel up the River of Aeons. Even Ortusers or Dukkhans who had not mastered the power of time would fail.
Coincidentally, the power of time was one of Lu Yin’s fortes.
Right as he took his first step forward and moved against the current, Greater Sancte Green Lotus, Greater Sancte Blood Tower, and Greater Sancte Awe Gate all appeared behind Lu Yin, carefully watching the events unfold.
“He intends to regress to the ancient era!” Blood Tower said. He had the appearance of a young man. He was wearing a blood-red robe, and his face was waxy and pale. The moment he appeared, boundless seas of blood surged around him. They looked to hold countless worlds and myriad creatures. Looking at the blood gave one the impression that countless eyes were staring out at the heavens.
“Lu Yin, come back! It is not time yet!” Greater Sancte Green Lotus shouted.
Beside him stood a woman, whose face was obscured. Ripples constantly spread out from her, and between those ripples, gates appeared. She was Greater Sancte Awe Gate. “To travel about the omniverse and up the River of Aeons, chasing the ancients to become a forerunner of humanity—does he even know what he’s doing?”
At the moment, Lu Yin had no idea that the three Greater Sancti had appeared to stop him. He had merely wanted to go up the River of Aeons and catch up with those ahead of him so that he could see who they were and what they were doing. He wanted to find out what that tree really was. Why did it always appear during his breakthroughs?
The inexplicable urge had drowned his sense of reason. His only thought was to get closer to the tree. The closer, the better.
With each step he took up the River of Aeons, Lu Yin moved with Lightstream. There were times when his Progenitor’s world took the form of a small boat that was sailing upstream, and at other times, it took the form of spots of light beneath his feet. He drew closer and closer to the figures moving upstream. As he moved, his body and his aura both changed. He became increasingly unfathomable, radiating an ancient and profound aura. It was as if he was walking against time itself, but that power of time could not corrode him.
Clearly, he was not walking up the real River of Aeons. What had appeared was just a phenomenon, and yet Lightstream was still able to carry him upstream. Lu Yin could not comprehend what he was feeling.
Even Greater Sancte Green Lotus and the other Immortals were stunned by what they saw.
They could not fathom why Lu Yin’s phenomenon was able to become reality, nor why he was able to see a scene from the far ancient past. No, this was not a scene, but reality. From what they could see of where the River of Aeons flowed from, they were seeing true events from the past. But it was impossible for people of the present to chase the past, and yet Lu Yin could.
Lightstream’s boat form continued to absorb bits of time that had been cast off by the River of Aeons, constantly growing stronger and stronger as it carried Lu Yin upstream. Space chased time, and time assimilated space. Lu Yin needed to catch up and see who those people were, learn why they were traveling up the River of Aeons, and discover what connection there was between himself and that tree.
Finally, Lu Yin caught up with the person trailing behind the rest of the group.
He drew closer and closer to that last figure.
Greater Sancte Green Lotus and the others held their breath. Those figures were powerhouses from the ancient ages. Each one was an expert capable of traveling up the River of Aeons. Then, there was Lu Yin, who had caught up, despite the endless gulf of time that separated him from his targets.
The people he was pursuing were not ordinary experts. It was possible—no, it was absolutely certain that each one was an Immortal. Only Immortals were qualified to walk such a path and become a forerunner of humanity.
Lu Yin looked at the last figure, but he could not see them clearly. Time made the person’s face indistinct. Lu Yin raised his hand and reached out.
Greater Sancte Green Lotus shouted, “Don’t be reckless!”
Lu Yin’s hand fell, but at that exact moment, time returned to normal. The River of Aeons vanished, and the great tree disappeared. Everything was gone. He was standing high in the clear sky, a bright sun above him. If not for the fact that Lightstream was still in the shape of a boat beneath him, Lu Yin would have thought the entire thing to be an illusion.
But it had not been an illusion; he had heard a voice. “What kind of freakish brat is this? The time turbulence you’re causing is a bit over the top. Go back and train for another few tens of millenniums before returning.”
When that voice had stopped speaking, both the River of Aeons and the great tree had simultaneously vanished.
