Steadily becoming a saint, the immortal officials hired me to tend the horses

Chapter 1000 - 992: Chaotic Order

Chapter 1000: Chapter 992: Chaotic Order

Master?

Hearing Tian Hao’s inquiry, Yang Jian was somewhat in a daze.

He almost forgot how long it had been since he last relied on his master. Yes, if the master were here, why would they need to be so worried?

Although the master seemed to care about nothing, just seeing him always settled Yang Jian’s heart. Even if the sky fell, he believed the master would hold it up.

"If it were the master..."

Yang Jian couldn’t answer. He felt certain that the master wouldn’t let him be stuck in a quagmire; even if he were to help the Heavenly Dao, the master would have his way.

Seeing both Yang Jian and Tian Hao fall silent, Liu An and Wei Ye exchanged a glance. They were very curious about the identity of the Son of Heaven and Yang Jian’s master.

During past interactions, Yang Jian was too stern, which made it hard for Liu An and Wei Ye to get close, let alone ask about their inner doubts.

They wanted to know if Yang Jian was the same Yang Jian they knew before they crossed over.

Er Lang God!

Not only did Yang Jian have a similar name, but his stature, attire, and weapon also resembled Er Lang God.

If Yang Jian truly was Er Lang God, then did other Immortal Gods in Chinese Mythology exist too?

For a moment, the great hall fell into silence, each of the four individuals harbored their own thoughts.

After a while, Tian Hao withdrew his thoughts, turned his gaze toward Liu An and Wei Ye, smiled, and asked, "By the looks of your current state, I can see the fruits of years of cultivation; how is it, do you regret it now?"

Wei Ye was the first to speak, "Why would I regret it? It’s thanks to His Highness that we soared to the heavens. All we ask is the chance to repay His Highness."

Liu An gave Wei Ye a sideways glance, feeling slightly annoyed at how quick this fellow was to catch on.

Tian Hao’s smile deepened as he chuckled, "There is indeed something I need you both to do."

At this, even Liu An turned serious, looking at Tian Hao, waiting for his instructions.

"I am sending you two to Central Heaven to search for an innate creature born with the name Hong. They may have already matured, or they may not yet be born. They are bound to be different, and if you ever hesitate when you find a target, then it certainly isn’t the being you are looking for."

Tian Hao’s words left Liu An and Wei Ye puzzled.

Such a vague request, with no time limit—if they couldn’t find them, were they to search forever?

"Yes, if you can’t find them, then keep looking, unless I summon you beforehand."

Tian Hao’s expression turned serious, causing Liu An and Wei Ye to feel a sense of oppression.

The prior interactions had brought them closer, and Liu An and Wei Ye felt relaxed around Tian Hao, but this time, Tian Hao made them suddenly realize.

They were not facing a fellow daoist but a Son of Heaven mingling within the Celestial Court, and moreover, he was the brother of the current Celestial Emperor, with a status and strength beyond what they could imagine.

The two quickly expressed their commitment to exert all efforts.

"You may depart now. You should know where the Celestial Gate is, and I’ve already informed the gate deity of your destination."

Tian Hao continued, and Liu An and Wei Ye looked toward Yang Jian. Seeing him give no representation, the two could only bow and take their leave.

Once they had exited the hall, Tian Hao smiled and said, "How long has it been? I feel like, in their hearts, you’re more important than I am."

Yang Jian shook his head, "That’s just the sudden nature of things. But, Senior Brother, with this approach, won’t you be using a sledgehammer to crack a nut?"

He wasn’t clear on how important the people Tian Hao sought were, but he felt such matters didn’t necessitate sending two specially cultivated talents.

Unless Tian Hao wanted to prevent them from being dragged into the conflicts between the Celestial Court and Chaos for the time being.

Tian Hao shook his head and replied, "This is the most important task; they are the most suitable because their destiny pattern is bound to collide with the one I’m searching for."

Yang Jian was puzzled. What kind of person could be considered the most important thing to Tian Hao?

Named Hong?

He really couldn’t think of anyone whom Tian Hao would value so highly.

Tian Hao noticed Yang Jian’s confusion but didn’t elaborate, as Yang Jian’s current cultivation level couldn’t bear such a Great Cause and Effect.

...

The blue celestial vault stretched boundless, without a cloud in sight.

Gu An and Hong Yi walked by the seaside, waves continuously washing over their feet.

"Recently, I sensed the presence of a kindred presence," Hong Yi suddenly said, her tone calm, revealing no emotion.

Gu An looked ahead and casually asked, "Are you sure it’s a kindred spirit?"

"Yes, though familiar, his presence makes me uncomfortable. I can only sense his existence, not his whereabouts."

Hong Yi raised her head, gazing toward the celestial vault. The sunlight caught her eyes, giving her pupils a strange glow.

"Up in the heavens?"

"Yes."

"What do you plan to do then?"

"Nothing much. I’m just telling you; I don’t want to search for him right now. I want to focus on becoming stronger and catching up with you soon."

At this point, Hong Yi looked intently at Gu An.

Gu An smiled slightly, thinking how naive she was.

Hong Yi was born with the potential to become a Saint, which was remarkable. Yet, becoming a Saint was merely the qualification to face Gu An.

"First, become the strongest in this world," Gu An softly advised.

"Almost there."

The two continued to chat casually, without much emotion stirring—such had become their habit.

Gu An would come to Hong Yi every now and then, appearing to visit, but in truth, he was assisting her, accelerating her path to strength.

Just as the sea before them—underneath its beautiful scenery was the surge of Gu An’s Dao Intent.

This was the Dao Intent of a Grand Saint, unmatched even by the Tao Origin in its creation.

Gu An assisted her this way because she was inherently eligible for sainthood.

Even a Saint couldn’t create a Saint.

Walking until dusk fell, Gu An finally bid farewell to Hong Yi.

Hong Yi’s form moved, crossing the vast ocean and mainland to arrive at the mountains where she resided.

She walked through the forest, a subtle change in her gaze.

A gust of wind blew through the woods, leaves scattering and swirling around Hong Yi.

As the leaves ahead almost touched the ground, they suddenly halted, unevenly suspended, and upon closer look, they formed a human figure.

Hong Yi stopped, calmly gazing at the leaf figure, seemingly neither surprised nor puzzled by the visitor.

"Hong Yi, one of the Hongmeng’s wills, for you, both the world and Heavenly Dao are restrictions, confinements."

A voice sounded, carrying a subtle excitement.

Hong Yi didn’t respond, simply watching him quietly.

"Do you wish to know your origins?" he asked again.

Hong Yi snorted softly, "Come before me, and then we’ll talk."

As her words fell, she took a step forward.

The leaf figure attempted to speak, only to be forcibly dispersed by her; she didn’t pause at all and continued forward.

Once she vanished into the deeper woods, another gust of wind passed, leaves falling to form the very figure again.

"What a domineering presence; is this the order of Chaos?"

The leaf figure mumbled to itself, not angered by Hong Yi’s actions but rather more excited.

"Since you want me to come before you, wait then. I will come with overwhelming strength, and let it rain with the corpses of Immortal Gods. Then, you will join me to seek your origin."

As his words concluded, the leaves forming his figure fluttered down, leaving the forest in silence.
