Stealing Spree

Chapter 2876: A minor trouble

Chapter 2876: A minor trouble

Although Komoe’s house was only a few minutes away from the school, it was still far enough to lose sight of the bus stop where I left Shizu and the others.

That’s why when I returned, I was a little surprised by what I witnessed. Not because they disappeared, but because a few flies started buzzing around them.

A group of male students wearing the uniforms of the Second High School, one of our Fourth High School’s affiliated schools, surrounded my girls.

From afar, they looked like they were trying to surround them and strike up a conversation, but the girls weren’t having it.

Even before they could see me approaching, the girls already made their moves. Yup. The self-defense skills I taught them were instantly deployed.

Without hesitation, the three unfortunate idiots dropped to the ground, writhing in pain.

Shizu delivered a loud slap on the tallest guy’s face before kneeing him squarely.

Haruko, on the other hand, mercilessly stepped on the other guy’s foot before delivering the ball-breaking knee effortlessly.

Then, there’s Maaya, who swiped the guy’s foot first before viciously stomping his groin with her boot. Twice, just to be sure.

By the time they spotted me, the girls immediately forgot the idiots on the ground.

Shizu smoothed her skirt primly, and Haruko tucked a stray lock behind her ear with her usual smile that once captivated everyone in our middle school. Only Maaya didn’t bother pretending, kicking the groaning guy one last time for good measure.

"Gross. I had to hold my breath, so I wouldn’t smell their desperation," Maaya muttered, rubbing her hands against her skirt as if contaminated.

The guy she’d stomped whimpered pathetically, curling into a fetal position.

After that, she grumbled at me, "This is your fault. What delayed you?"

I raised my arms in surrender as Maaya’s accusatory glare pinned me in place. "Girl, I’ve returned promptly. Perhaps, I should’ve run back like I’m auditioning for the Olympics?"

Maaya immediately ran up to me, pinching my cheeks as she vented her frustration at my answer.

Shizu snorted and Haruko chuckled, both clearly amused by the aftermath of their handiwork. The groaning idiots on the ground seemed like an afterthought.

"Blockhead, your timing is impeccable." Shizu let out a soft sigh but a hint of satisfaction could be seen on her face. Clearly, what she did was quite refreshing.

"Right, hubby. Maybe we could’ve pretended to be damsels in distress? That way, you can swoop in and save us from these scoundrels?" Haruko mused, tapping her chin with exaggerated thoughtfulness.

"Knowing this shameless guy, he’ll still do something even if we don’t." Maaya rolled her eyes before pulling me down to bury her nose in my chest as though she were trying to cleanse her senses with my scent. "Right?"

"Of course. They targeted my girls. I’m so petty I won’t be able to let this go even if you three already made them impotent." I put on a sinister smile as I looked down at the three idiots on the ground.

They already stopped hissing and groaning while they looked at the girls with hateful expressions, especially when they saw Maaya clinging to me.

The tallest one who had the audacity to glare at Shizu spat blood on the pavement before snarling, "You fucking bitches think you’re hot shit. Wait for us. You won’t get off easy---"

"What did you just say?" I stepped forward before he could finish, my shadow swallowing his pathetic form sprawled on the concrete. Placing a foot on his head, I pressed down just enough to make his cheek grind against the pavement. "Repeat that. Clearly."

"Y-you!" Probably thinking it was an opportunity, he tried to grab my leg, only for my heel to slam his wrist into the pavement.

His scream was cut short when my sole blocked his mouth shut.

"What? You think you can fight back? Go on. I’m curious how much more humiliation you can take before realizing you’re outmatched." My voice came out flat, devoid of anger, which unnerved him more than shouting ever could.

Beneath my shoe, his panicked breathing almost stopped as his friends scrambled backward like cockroaches exposed to light.

"And you two, stay down," I said without looking at the other two, my gaze never leaving the trembling trash beneath my foot. "Unless you want a matching set of bruises."

Shizu clicked her tongue, stepping forward. "Blockhead, we handled this already. Don’t waste your energy."

"Hmm? I told you. I’m petty. They dared to approach you? What if you missed? They would’ve touched you." My smile remained pleasant, but my foot pressed harder against the idiot’s face. His muffled whimper was music to my ears.

Haruko sighed dramatically, draping herself over my arm. "Hubby, you’re being redundant. We already crushed their balls, literally."

She tilted her head toward Maaya’s victim, who was still whimpering but trying his best not to move because of what I’d said.

"Mhm. That’s good. But that’s not enough. Let’s see... you’re from Second High, huh? I don’t know what you’re doing here but consider today your nightmare for coming here. I’ll be visiting your school soon. Call for back-ups or hide, whatever you pick. I’ll let you understand that there are things you’re not allowed to touch." I crouched down, gripping his hair to lift his face until his terrified eyes met mine. "I’ll make sure you remember that."

At this point, the guy was already sobbing. I don’t know if it’s my voice or my expression but I guess my threat sounded more convincing since I didn’t raise my voice. That’s usually how you scare people. Acting eerily calm while promising violence.

Haruko and the girls understood they wouldn’t be able to change my mind, so they just stepped back and waited for me to finish instilling fear in these idiots.

After knocking his head on the concrete once more, I walked over to the other two. The color on their faces drained as they scrambled away like startled crabs. The scent of urine hit my nose, one of them had pissed himself. Pathetic.

Luckily, no one’s around aside from us, and the bus was still a few minutes away.

After dealing with them, I returned to my girls and led them away. We’re not taking the bus anymore.

As we walked towards the train station, I checked on them one by one.

Shizu pinched my cheek, reminding me that I shouldn’t necessarily create more trouble for myself by pursuing petty vengeance.

Maaya told me that I was acting stupidly impulsive but her tone wasn’t actually a reprimand. After all, she’s really disgusted by that one guy. I mean... he’s so ugly and he thought he had a chance at her.

Even handsome guys won’t move them, and they thought that being menacing enough would cut it? What a joke.

And lastly, Haruko used her handkerchief to wipe my forehead and then my hands, even though they weren’t dirty at all. She didn’t say anything but her actions spoke louder than words. She wasn’t mad at what I did. She just didn’t want me getting my hands dirtier than they already were.

After reaching the station, since Haruko and Maaya’s house was in the opposite direction from ours, I decided to escort them first. I also used this chance to find out where exactly Maaya and Himeko live since I’ve only been to their family’s hotel.

As for Haruko. Well, it’ll also be the first time in a while since I’ve been to her house. Back then, I used to sneak through her room’s window, spending the night with her without her family knowing.

And considering my one-track mind and her constrained relationship with her family, I never truly interacted with them back then. I doubt it will change soon though.

Anyway, after separating from her at their gates, Haruko pouted at me, saying I should’ve escorted her last, prompting Shizu to smirk at her and revel in her victory.

Yep. She’s just trying to get a rise out of Shizu.

After that, Shizu and I took the bus for a more private journey home. Just the two of us.

The moment we were seated, the girl didn’t hesitate to lift the armrest between us and press herself against my side, hugging me tightly.

It only took a few minutes for her breathing to steady into a calm rhythm, and she fell asleep while using my chest as her pillow. I held her tightly, making sure she’d be as comfortable as possible.

She was exhausted, after all. Not just because of what we did before leaving the school. She’d been busy all day long.

When we reached her stop, I nudged her lightly but despite already waking up, she continued pretending to be asleep, maximizing every last second of closeness.

Helpless, I carried her off the bus bridal-style, earning amused glances from the driver and the few other passengers, none of whom were from our school.

"Oh. Looks like I made a mistake. I should’ve brought you home instead of getting off here. We can pretend you overslept then." I said as I sat down on the waiting shed while Shizu wrapped her arms tightly around my neck.
