Stolen Identity: Mute Heiress

Chapter 485: Oversharing

Chapter 485: Oversharing

Genevieve was silent for a moment. “Well, I think it depends on why you’re having sex.”

The room became quiet.

“If it’s only about pleasure…” She shrugged gently. “Then pleasure can come from almost anywhere. But that’s not to say it will always be great. Not every partner knows how to please you. Sometimes you end up chasing your own pleasure instead.”

They all listened to her with rapt attention.

Her smile faded slightly. “When it’s sex with just anybody, the pleasure lasts only for a moment. And after it disappears, what remains is emptiness.”

Nobody interrupted.

Genevieve looked down for a second. “If I could go back in time and choose,” she smiled. “I’d rather have met Stefan much earlier. I’d rather he is my one and only lover than have all the experiences I had before.”

“Really?” Mari asked.

Genevieve laughed softly. “Yeah. I cried the first time Stefan and I made love.”

Mari’s eyes widened. “Was it that good?”

Everyone laughed.

Genevieve laughed too. “It was great sex. But that’s not why I cried.” She rested a hand over her heart. “I cried because, for the first time, I understood the difference between being with someone who truly loved me and someone who only cared about satisfying himself.”

Silence settled over the room.

“It honestly felt…” She smiled through misty eyes. “…like I was being given a fresh beginning.”

“Aww,” Emily cooed.

Genevieve laughed softly. “It felt as though I was being deflowered for the first time.”

“That’s so sweet,” Dawn said softly.

Genevieve nodded. “Yeah. And every time we’re together, I still feel that same sense of wonder.”

Mari grinned. “No wonder you’re pregnant.”

Everyone burst into laughter.

Genevieve laughed until tears filled her eyes. “I’m really happy I can talk to you all like this. Even though it feels like I’m oversharing.”

Mari smiled warmly. “Oversharing would be telling us the styles and positions.”

They all laughed.

“So, you don’t feel like you overshared? I’ll tell you about my first experience. Sex with Jax was unbelievable. I made him deflower me in his studio, surrounded by all his paintings of me. It was the hottest thing ever.”

Dawn giggled. “Sex with Jamal was awkward. It was both our first time, and I was mute. But it was incredibly sweet too.”

“So sweet a bun was formed,” Mari teased, and they all laughed.

They all turned to Emily, and she raised a brow. “What? I don’t have to share simply because you all are sharing.”

“You don’t have to share, but you were laughing like a banshee at our stories,” Mari said, making them all laugh again.

Emily rolled her eyes playfully. “Fine. Sex with Cal was beautiful. I travelled all that way to surprise him for his birthday, so I was incredibly pleased that he gave in. He was patient, loving, and really sweet. But unlike you all, I didn’t exactly have a beautiful morning after.”

“Neither did I,” Dawn pointed out.

“Well, what happened between you and Jamal was a misunderstanding of fate. But Callan…” she stopped when Mari patted her hand, then sighed. “The sex was great.”

“For such a talented romance writer, you can be surprisingly boring when you want to be,” Mari teased.

Emily giggled. “Thanks. I’ll take the compliment.”

“It’s time for my question,” Dawn said, clapping to get them to focus.

“So,” she rested her chin on her palm. “What’s the biggest misunderstanding you and Stefan have ever had?”

Genevieve smiled almost immediately. “Biggest? I’m not sure. Could be when I found out he wasn’t Jamal as I thought. Or when he told me he’s taking care of Karen.”

“Your mum? Stefan is taking care of her?” Dawn asked, and Genevieve nodded.

“She believes I’m dead though. But I think those were our two major misunderstandings, and Stefan never let me stay mad,” she said with a wide smile.

“Did I tell you I didn’t like Stefan much when I first saw him?” Dawn asked, and Genevieve laughed.

“No. Why?”

“He was acting all protective of Jamal,” Dawn said, then told them all about the encounter at the airport and during the flight when she reunited with Jamal.

Genevieve laughed so hard tears dropped from her eyes. “Well, you should be grateful he loves Jamal that much. That way no lady can dare to hang around Jamal.”

“Yeah.”

“That leads me to my next question, G. Can you fight for love? Like if another lady starts coming too close to Stefan, what would you do?” Emily asked curiously.

“I’d trust Stefan to handle it. I believe he wouldn’t put me in a position where I have to fight for his attention. But if I am ever tempted to fight for it, then Stefan put me in that position, and that means there is nothing worth fighting for, right? I can as well let her have him,” Genevieve said thoughtfully.

“Wow! Genny, you’re so insightful,” Mari said with awe.

“That’s such a brilliant response,” Emily said at the same time.

Genevieve smiled, surprised and pleased by the compliment. She wished Ryan were here to hear them say that about her.

She wasn’t so stupid as he had said after all.

After a moment, Mari asked another question.

“So, how does being pregnant actually feel?”

Genevieve laughed. “You mean emotionally?”

Mari shook her head. “No. I know you’re happy. I mean physically.”

She pointed at Genevieve’s stomach. “There’s practically nothing there yet. But you’ve already been having symptoms. What does it feel like?”

Genevieve smiled. “Honestly? I still feel like myself.” She rubbed her stomach absent-mindedly. “I’m just excited. And I’m looking forward to every stage.”

Then Genevieve turned towards Dawn. “What about you? How did you feel?”

Dawn laughed. “Miserable. The morning sickness was terrible. And I became unbelievably lazy. You should remember how sick I felt.”

Genevieve reached for her hand. “I’m sorry I wasn’t supportive.”

Dawn squeezed it. “Don’t be. It’s all in the past now.”

Emily smiled quietly. “I was pregnant once too with Callan’s baby.”

The room became still.

“But I had an abortion.”

Mari looked at her in surprise. “You’re talking about it?”

Emily nodded gently. “I just… feel like talking about it tonight.”

Without hesitation, Dawn and Genevieve each reached for one of her hands.

Genevieve looked at her gently. “Are you okay?”

Emily smiled. “I am. I’ve healed a lot.”

Mari looked around the room before sighing dramatically. “So, I’m the only one here who’s never been pregnant.”

Emily laughed. “And the last one to be deflowered.”

Genevieve looked at Mari in surprise. “Really?”

Mari nodded proudly. “Really.”

Genevieve laughed. “That’s surprising.”

Mari raised an eyebrow. “Why?”

“The way you behave.”

Mari gasped dramatically. “How do I behave?”

Genevieve tried to find the right word but couldn’t.

Emily came to her aid. “Like Mari. No other word best describes the way you behave than your name. You should be a word in the dictionary.”

For one second, everyone stared at her.

Then the four women burst into uncontrollable laughter, their laughter filling the den late into the night.
