Chapter 10 – Kill It!
We were able to meet up with Carla-san safely inside the great worm’s body. Well, even though she was safe, unlike us who were protected by the Pal, she seemed to have had quite a hard time, being covered in blood and naked… I have this image burned into my brain, but I’m a little afraid that I might develop a strange hobby.
“Hmm, Wataru is right; summoning a luxury liner scares me with its uncertainties.”
“Well, it’s Master’s skill, so I feel it’s okay, but I don’t think there’s any need to take unknown risks when death isn’t imminent.”
“Really? I’m not averse to gambling, and I think it will be fine.”
After meeting with Carla-san and settling down, we decided to formulate a plan for our escape.
When I told them the methods I had thought of, and my concerns, Marina-san and Felicia showed some difficulty, while Ines happily recommended gambling.
“…For now, let’s leave escaping on a luxury liner as a last resort and look for other ways to get out.”
For my part, I thought that a hard escape on a luxury liner would be 90% safe, but Ines’ approval solidified my decision to take the safe route.
Ines, who fell into slavery because of gambling, has a different power of persuasion in the opposite sense. Also, I feel that if I trust her unconditionally, I might get a painful reprisal because of the unique skill I received from the Creator God-sama.
“I agree, but we can’t take it easy because we don’t know when things will change. Let’s think about it based on Wataru’s suggestion.”
As Marina-san said, the location is inside the great worm’s body, isn’t it? Even if we can ensure our own safety, we can’t take it easy.
And judging from the location of Pal No. 2, it seems to be running around in circles on the ground, which is causing us a lot of worry. I want to calm them down by joining them as soon as possible.
“Summon the Hideaway.”
While we were having a contentious discussion, Carla-san, who was enjoying a snack with a big smile on her face, interrupted us.
“The Hideaway? Even in the body of a giant great worm, the Hideaway can’t fit, can it?”
It is wide enough for the Ranger to move around, but as expected, the Hideaway, which is like a small island with a house and a spacious terrace inside, will not fit.
If we have to break through anyway, it would be better to summon a luxury liner than the Hideaway.
“Don’t worry, its body will stretch, so the Hideaway will fit.”
…Stretch?
Oh, by the way, snakes can swallow prey or eggs that are larger than they are. I’ve seen pictures and videos of snakes with an unnaturally swollen body part.
I see that the great worm is more of a worm than a snake, as the name suggests, but I don’t think it would be able to withstand that.
…That might not be a bad suggestion.
If the body is big enough to swell, it can hold the hull tight, so Felicia doesn’t have to strain too much and can get a wide foothold.
If any part of the body expands on its own, the great worm will be startled and move, and since it doesn’t have to attack, there’s little risk of letting the great worm die underground as long as it can withstand the summoning.
Well, if the great worm breaks open, it will fail, but from its appearance, it looks like it will grow quite a bit inside the body, so I think the success rate will be high.
I am a little afraid that the weight of the Hideaway will make the great worm unable to act, but well, it is a huge body that is not overly fashionable, and if it is simply unable to move, I will just repatriate the Hideaway, so it will be fine.
The other members seemed to think that it wasn’t a bad idea and were deep in thought. We need to work out the details, but I think we’ll settle on this method?
At least it’s better than the way we escaped from the butt and waded through the sand with barriers.

“Then I will summon the Hideaway. In the unlikely event that the great worm’s body ruptures, I will summon the luxury liner immediately, so please do not panic and keep moving. Otherwise, please stick to the plan.”
“Understood. This is starting to be fun.”
“I understand.”
“I’ll be fine, too.”
“Yes.”
“Then I’ll summon it. Ship Summoning!”
After confirming that the girls have finished their preparations, I summon the Hideaway.
The magic circle appears at the same time as the summoning, and this is the first step.
The magic circle is too large to fit into the body of the great worm. If it disappears due to the failure of the summoning, that’s the end of it, but so far, the summoning seems to be continuing.
At this point, we were considering the possibility of the magic circle disappearing or expanding inside the body of the great worm, but it seems that the magic circle is expanding by penetrating the inner walls.
With that, there seems to be no problem summoning even the luxury liner.
Well, I’m afraid of the consequences, and after the main body of the luxury liner appears, so I would have tried with the Hideaway anyway.
We can move around the magic circle, but we don’t know what will happen, so we’ll wait on the Pal until the entire Hideaway ship is summoned.
The Hideaway’s barrier is ripping apart the inner walls of the great worm as the main body emerges. It appears that it has managed to keep the great worm from tearing itself apart.
But… even from here, you can see that the inner walls of the great worm are firmly attached to the barriers. To put it simply, it’s disgusting.
“Whoa!”
The body of the great worm began to tremble at the same time as the Hideaway appeared. It seems that it actually noticed the abnormalities in its own body.
“Master, let’s go!”
“Huh?”
My body, which had clung to the Pal’s handle and endured the shaking, suddenly flew through the air. It seemed as if Ines was carrying me in her arms.
We were able to board the Hideaway without incident, but I was not quite sure what was going on. I could move on my own, right?
“Look, Master, use the rope to hold me down. Hold Rimu so he doesn’t fall.”
“Y-yeah.”
I was a little frustrated, but Ines continued to warn me. It was my fault for being slow, but I felt uncomfortable as if I was being scolded by my mother.
I do as I’m told, secure myself with a rope, and hold Rimu tightly.
It would be easy if the rampaging great worm would stay on the ground like this, but… it’s not that easy, apparently.
Right now, it seems to be flailing rather than moving, and the distance between us and Pal No. 2 remains the same.
The Hideaway itself is firmly anchored in the body of the great worm, but the unfastened supplies on board are rattling and making noise as the ship shakes.
I had expected this and should not be weak enough to be injured by flying furniture and other things, but it is quite frightening to see the goods flying around.
“Wataru, what is the position of the great worm?”
“It’s just flapping around in place for now, oh, it’s starting to dive down.”
In the middle of answering Marina-san’s question, the great worm starts to move. In a direction we don’t want it to go…
The hull of the ship is pointing down; things are falling from above, but it doesn’t matter because Ines and the others are able to prevent it.
“We have no choice. Everyone, we’re going to attack lightly. Be careful not to cause too much damage! Wataru, let me know when the great worm appears!”
“Understood.”
I responded to Marina-san’s order with understanding.
It would have been easier if it just went straight to the surface, but that failed, so we moved on to the next strategy.
If the great worm moves in a direction unfavorable to us, we will attack inside its body and inflict pain, and if it moves to the surface, we will stop the attack.
The name of the operation is “Controlling the Great Worm with Pain!”
We don’t know whether it will succeed or fail. To begin with, we don’t even know what the great worm’s sense of pain is.
There were so many unknowns, but we couldn’t think of anything else, so we had no choice.
I was even offered the dreaded idea of taming the great worm, but I rejected it because I didn’t know if the worm could be tamed, and I didn’t want to tame the worm in the first place.
I don’t know what I would do in an emergency, but Marina-san, who has the same taming skills as me, shook her head and said she was just the same.
I don’t know which is happier for the great worm… manipulation through pain or taming. It’s the great worm’s fault for swallowing us.
“It’s going up!”
“Stop the attack!”
“Oh, to the right this time!”
“Attack!”
“It’s going down!”
“Attack! A little harder!”
Do we have to repeat this endlessly? I’m supposed to be on land, but I’m starting to worry about seasickness.
***
“It stopped moving.
The great worm went on a physical rampage for about an hour and then stopped moving. Its inner walls were wriggling, so it couldn’t be dead, but what was wrong?
“Well, did it get tired?”
Marina-san answered my question with a tired look on her face.
We were exhausted, too, so it was understandable that the great worm would get tired and stop moving.
But we are so close to the surface.
Operation Control by Pain. At first, the great worm went on a rampage, but it seemed to understand the timing of the pain a little better and began to move upward more often.
It would have been easier if it could have gone to the surface, but the worm’s brain did not behave the way we wanted it to, suddenly going down or left or right.
Finally, when we were only a few feet from the surface, it stopped. Please give me a break.
“I think we can make it on our own from here; what do you want to do?”
“…Well, if you think we can make it on our own, let’s attack with all our might with the intention of killing it.”
Marina-san is also very tired and has a dangerous look in her eyes. Perhaps the unfamiliar leadership position is taking its toll.
I know it’s too late to say this, but I think we’ve failed to gather members who can take a leadership role in Pal No.1… yeah, I guess.
“Now, let’s attack it with all our might.”
Pretending not to have noticed the sad reality, I also agree with the forceful strategy I usually avoid to unleash the stress after being shaken for a long time.
“Then we’ll attack all at once. Each of you prepares to attack with everything you’ve got. Aim for the lower front where the damage is the worst.”
“””Understood.”””
“…Ready. Then let’s attack now!”
At Marina-san’s signal, an attack of incomparably greater power was launched. The great worm, perhaps startled by this attack, jumped to the surface.
“It’s jumping to the surface!”
“Kill it!”
Marina-san’s shouted instruction flies out. Yes, we’re finally on the surface, and we don’t want to go back underground!
