Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 1071: Not Forever

Chapter 1071: Not Forever

The Overseer pushed a ball of False Death towards the World Wall. It had been almost 60,000 years since she had comprehended the Law of Minor Death, and now, she felt like she could finally make a second attempt.

As the ball of False Death approached the World Wall, the Overseer became increasingly nervous. She felt like she was about to commit a horrible mistake.

She gritted her teeth and pulled the ball back.

She had put in so much work and effort, and she still didn't feel comfortable with attempting to break the World Wall.

Would she ever feel comfortable?

Would this ever change?

Or did she need to take a risk?

'It's the right choice. I only have one shot, and if I mess it up, it's all over. My entire life would have been for nothing.'

'I can't commit to something I'm not certain about. Too much is at stake.'

The Overseer changed the composition of the ball and moved it towards the World Wall once again.

The feeling of nervousness returned, and she pulled it back.

Another change, another cancellation.

More changes, more cancellations.

Over the years, the Overseer tried millions of different configurations. None of them felt right. Something inside of her told her that she was not supposed to use False Death on the World Wall.

It was frustrating, being so close to freedom while not having the ability to attain it. Just one move. Just one correct infusion, and everything would be over.

She wanted to take the shot so desperately, but she also knew that she couldn't.

She tried again and again, but nothing changed.

In the end, she dispersed the ball of False Death and put her hand on the World Wall again.

'I just need to get more familiar with it. I need to know more about it. As long as I know more, I can make a more informed decision.'

'Just a bit more time.'

While the Overseer was once more sensing the World Wall, Fierce Breaker focused on comprehending the Law of Major Metal. The world had already recovered to some degree, and there were even some Level Six Law Wells. Without Swamp Dragon's contributions, this would have been impossible.

During his comprehension, Fierce Breaker swung a gigantic hammer repeatedly. He was more comfortable with a spear, but after disguising himself as Kyle, he had also gotten familiar with a hammer.

If he could choose, he would still use a spear as his primary weapon.

'If Swamp Dragon's third trial fails, it's up to me,' Fierce Breaker thought. 'I need to grow as fast as I can. My personal power is integral to the success of the plan.'

'I need to grow quickly enough to entice minor interest in the Overseer. If I just seem like a slightly more talented Seeker, she might just kill me before I can become an Immortal. I don't need enough power to rival her, and frankly, I don't even think I have the ability to do that. As long as I seem just a bit interesting, that's enough.'

'I need to work harder! I need to focus more!'

While Fierce Breaker was training, Swamp Dragon was working on improving the world. They needed more humans and Law Wells. They needed to stabilize the Elemental Dimension.

At the same time, Swamp Dragon was also paying attention to the Energy fluctuations in the world. He was waiting for something specific. If everything worked out, the Overseer would die soon.

'I doubt that the third trial won't take place,' he thought. 'She has been trapped in this world for over a billion years. The hopelessness she's fighting must have accumulated tremendous power.'

While Swamp Dragon was working on fixing the world, Sebastian was focusing on the Primordial Force Laws. There was a high chance that he would never get the opportunity to advance inside the Fusion Realm, but he still wanted to prepare himself. He needed a Level Eight Law, and the best way to get there was to comprehend the Primordial Force Laws.

He still had a good chunk of Law Comprehension Fruits from his time in the Abyss, but it just wasn't that easy to comprehend the Primordial Force Laws. He didn't have a lot of experience with them, and his progress was slow.

While Sebastian was looking at the Primordial Force Laws, Kyle swung his hammer from inside his Elemental. Since his Elemental had already reached the level of a Peak Spirit Lord, Kyle didn't need to be as careful anymore. Beside him was a multicolored Essence, and from time to time, streams of Energy entered Kyle's body before leaving again.

Fusing the Essences had taken about 20,000 years. Now, he just needed to infuse them into his new existence.

He no longer had four, arguably five, Aspects of Power. Now, he only had one, but that also meant that he only needed one Infused Complex Law.

Within the past 20,000 years, his Imposing Law had only progressed by one percent, reaching a quality of 99%.

There were not many aspects he could improve anymore, but at the same time, he also felt like there was a lot left to understand. His Imposing Law felt almost complete, but it also felt decisively incomplete.

Something fundamental was missing. He needed something that neatly tied everything together.

He just wasn't sure what this something was.

During his comprehension, Kyle didn't think about anything in particular. He just kept swinging without end. He wasn't thinking about the future. He wasn't thinking about the plan. He wasn't thinking about what he needed to do or why he was swinging his hammer.

He was just swinging his hammer while trying to incorporate the Fused Essence.

No distractions.

The four people from the Supreme World were slowly preparing themselves, while the Overseer was trying to make progress.

The recovering world barely noticed any of these things. By now, there were thousands of Spirit Lords and millions of Sages. Over the span of around 80,000 years, a lot of things could change.

The world was no longer a representation of death. Once more, everything was covered in life, but the life was noticeably different. There were no Divine Beasts, and there were not as many powerful beasts as there were humans. Powerful Seekers in Ayuvar rarely fought beasts. Over 90% of the fights were between humans.

It seemed like a normal world, and the inhabitants didn't feel that anything strange was going on.

Only the first couple of Ascenders remembered what the world had looked like when they had come here.

It had been devoid of life.

Something must have happened, and they didn't know what had happened.

They just hoped that it wouldn't happen again.

For now, everything seemed normal and calm, but this state of affairs wouldn't continue forever.

The world didn't know it, but its fate lay in the hands of the Overseer.

When the Overseer was busy, the world was calm.

When the Overseer was present, the world might experience a calamity.

Yet, the Overseer couldn't be busy forever.

At some point, things would change.
