Chapter 1088: Immortal Earth
Chapter 1088: Immortal Earth
Fierce Breaker consumed a tremendous amount of Energy Stones, and moments later, an apocalyptic storm of Energy appeared around him.
It had been about 15,000 years since the hammer had reached the Domain Realm. Fierce Breaker was about to run out of longevity, which was why he was advancing into the Fusion Realm.
Fierce Breaker had been a Legendary Crusher, a Legendary Sage, and a Legendary Spirit Lord. Sadly, he hadn't been a Legendary Transcendent or a Legendary Primal, which was why he couldn't undergo his Fusion.
Sebastian and Swamp Dragon had also advanced recently.
As all the Energies gathered inside Fierce Breaker, he felt his Aspects of Power strengthening. Yet, something also happened to his Core Spark and the remaining Clusters in his body.
The Clusters all moved towards the center of his chest and fused into one gigantic Cluster. Afterward, the Cluster became dull and colorless.
His Core Spark also moved to his chest, but otherwise, it didn't change. It looked normal.
At the same time, Fierce Breaker felt the other parts of his existence expanding. They were resonating with the world, and he felt like they were trying to establish some kind of connection. For just a small moment, he felt like he could see new things in reality, but the feeling vanished just as quickly as it had arrived.
Fierce Breaker's Energy Sense expanded until it encompassed an area with a radius of one billion kilometers. This was the advancement bonus for advancing as a Legendary Spirit Lord.
Ascendents who had advanced as Unique Spirit Lords could only sense the surrounding 500 million kilometers. Former Fulfilled Spirit Lords could sense 250 million kilometers, and former Advanced Spirit Lords could sense the surrounding 100 million kilometers. The increase in power Fierce Breaker received during his breakthrough was significant. The increase was as big as the increase in power between the Advanced Domain and Legendary Domain Realm.
At the same time, he could also feel how smoothly all his Energy flowed. It was like his Energy was at any given position inside his body at any moment.
Yet, despite reaching the goal of so many Seekers, Fierce Breaker didn't feel very excited.
'What am I chasing?' he thought. 'What am I fighting for? Why do I want to reach supreme power?'
'Just recently, it felt like an amazing goal. If I could reach the top of the world, I would feel like I could die without regrets.'
'But it just doesn't feel right anymore. My life is consumed by power, and that's it. I tell myself I don't need love, companionship, freedom, or anything like that. As long as I could beat everyone else, all problems would vanish.'
Fierce Breaker sighed.
'Yet, why does such a life suddenly feel empty? Why does it feel so unimportant, all of a sudden?'
Fierce Breaker looked at the hammer, which had become an Advanced Spirit Lord by now. Strengthening it hadn't been difficult. As long as he ordered the hammer to push Energy into its Spirit, the anchors and chains started to weaken. Just the mere presence of its powerful Laws and its Imposing Law was enough to weaken the restrictions.
While the hammer still seemed lifeless and black, nothing could be further from the truth. Deep inside, its Energies were moving around in a natural yet strange way. They seemingly followed illogical logic. There was some kind of sense behind their movements, but Fierce Breaker couldn't understand it. He felt like a random person on Earth who was trying to understand quantum mechanics.
'Another unfamiliar word,' Fierce Breaker thought. 'Quantum mechanics. I feel like I know this concept, but I do not know what it means. One more word that pops into my head without any explanation.'
If this had happened just 30,000 years ago, Fierce Breaker would feel threatened and shocked, but now...
He didn't feel like it was strange.
He knew these were concepts that were not his own, and yet he didn't feel like they were trying to hurt him.
'I remember parts of a life I haven't lived,' Fierce Breaker thought. 'I remember joining an Organization called the Stark Brotherhood, and I remember people I have never met before.'
'I would believe that these are delusions if it were not for the fact that I have also comprehended Laws I've never comprehended before.'
As Fierce Breaker went through his memories, his mind went through all of the concepts of the Gravity Elements.
Fierce Breaker only had a Natural Affinity for earth and metal and an Artificial Affinity for earth-metal. Yet, he knew all of the Level One to Level Four Elemental Laws.
Even more, insights about Karmic Luck slowly started appearing in his mind.
'I should be happy that my powers are increasing at such a rapid rate, but...'
'These are not my powers. These are Kyle's powers.'
Fierce Breaker looked at the hammer for a while. Even though he had just become an Ascendant, he didn't feel anything aside from a confusing feeling of dissociation.
He felt like he wasn't inside his own body anymore. He felt like he was living someone else's life.
After some hours of just staring into space, Fierce Breaker's body subconsciously moved towards the east.
Some time later, he arrived in front of a gigantic mountain. The Energy around the mountain was dense and went through seemingly infinite permutations. While this was happening, countless figures made of different shapes and sizes moved across the mountain. Some of them were fighting, while others were just aimlessly moving around.
This was a Law Well for Immortal Earth. The Immortal Elements were called as such since their status as the first Supreme Elements outweighed their other properties.
The special thing about the Immortal Elements was that they included concepts relating to life. The figures traveling across the mountain were made of Immortal Earth, but they were neither Elementals nor Golems.
They were earth that was trying to become alive.
Sadly, to create true life, one needed all the Elements, not just one. The figures were not truly alive.
They just believed that they were alive. One could say that reality was under an illusion. Reality believed that these figures were alive, even though they weren't.
But then, how could reality believe that?
Reality did so because it used observation as a proxy. The figures only moved and acted when someone could perceive them. The onlooker's mind was used as the engine that allowed Immortal Earth to imitate life.
Immortal Earth showed the first signs of what made the most powerful Elements so powerful.
Unending complexity.
Immortal Earth did not only use the potential of space, time, and gravity to improve its power. It also took advantage of consciousness, awareness, and the ever-changing transformations of life.
Yet, as Fierce Breaker arrived at the Law Well, he barely even looked at the Immortal Earth.
Instead, his body automatically did the thing that he felt was right to do. It was the easiest and most comfortable act in his life.
He took out his hammer and swung.
