Chapter 1094: Reinforcements
Chapter 1094: Reinforcements
Alex, the owner of the Cosmos in which Kyle resided, knew why his power had suddenly increased by so much.
Whenever anyone inside his Cosmos created a perfect Imposing Law, they created an entirely new Law that he could use. This increased his power by a bit.
Yet, such a tremendous increase in power could only mean that a more fundamental change had taken place. This was not the addition of another perfected Imposing Law.
Someone inside of his Cosmos must have created something that had fundamentally not existed before. Yes, every Imposing Law was unique, but all of them still used Energy to work. Another perfected Imposing Law would just increase the number of perfected Imposing Laws from a million to a million and one.
Such an increase in power could only come from someone creating something that involved Death.
In the distant past, Alex had had access to Death, but he had lost that power when the being in front of him had stolen it from him.
And now, this power had returned. It was just a little bit of Death, but this little bit of Death had allowed Alex to transform some of his Energy into Brutality, which strengthened his attack.
"Seems like your plan isn't working, Shang," Alex transmitted as he launched yet another attack. "Your Abominations have invaded my Cosmos in an effort to weaken me from the inside, but I've only grown more powerful since then."
"Hahahahaha!" Shang laughed in arrogant derision. "I've told you about my plan countless times, and you just keep forgetting it. Has the chase dulled your memories?"
"So what if someone has comprehended the Major Law of Death inside your Cosmos? Alex, Alex, Alex... It's almost adorable when you believe you're in control."Alex didn't allow Shang's words to get to him. "And you believe you're in control? I've been chasing you for millions upon millions of years. While you might not be losing Energy, you're definitely also not gaining Energy. You just want me to stop chasing you so that you can consume more Cosmoses."
Shang laughed once again. "Are you blind? Have you not seen me consume several Cosmoses ever since this little game of tag started? You know what? Why not? I was feeling a bit hungry anyway."
Alex gritted his teeth. Logic told him that Shang was just trying to make him nervous, but his feelings told him that Shang wasn't bluffing.
Shang changed his trajectory. Within moments, the two of them crossed unimaginable distances.
That was when Alex perceived something.
A humongous black ball.
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
With a maniacal laugh, Shang's cloud of Death moved towards the black ball, a corrupted Cosmos. Many years ago, Shang had put billions of his people into the Cosmos.
Alex attacked the Cosmos with all of his power, but Shang's cloud of Death blocked the attack.
Meanwhile, countless eye-filled tentacles that ended in swords stabbed into the corrupted Cosmos.
Alex kept launching attack after attack, but the cloud of Death blocked all of them.
Within moments, the black ball collapsed, revealing trillions of tiny beings, Shang's followers.
"Welcome home!" Shang's earth-shattering voice announced to his people.
His cloud of Death encompassed them, protecting them from the destructive forces of the Primordial Chaos. At the same time, countless tiny tentacles wrapped around the tiny people, carrying them back to Shang.
The people entered Shang's body via countless tiny tunnels, in which they met up with Shang's other followers.
Not even a single one of them died when Shang consumed the corrupted Cosmos.
None of these people were weak. Even the weakest among them had the Energy density of someone in the Wisdom Fire Realm. The most powerful ones even had the Energy density of Demigods.
As Shang brought his people home, the Energy around him accelerated. Dense masses of Energy attracted more Energy, and the addition of so many powerful and Energy-dense people increased the speed at which Shang attracted Energy.
"HAHAHAHAHA! Do you see this, Alex? My people follow me willingly! They consumed the ownerless Cosmos of their volition! They could have simply joined the inhabitants and lived in peace with them. If they hadn't corrupted the Cosmos, I couldn't have consumed it with such ease!"
"Yet, they choose to believe in me and my words! They always voluntarily return!"
"And what about you, Alex? What about the people in your Cosmos? Would they willingly remain in your Cosmos? Of course not! Face it, Alex! In your effort to do the right thing, you're turning into the very person you hate!"
Alex snorted coldly. "You're giving someone bread and using it as a sign of virtue while committing genocide. If you gave your people the power to become Heaven Breakers themselves, would they still follow you?"
"Look at who's fleeing into hypotheticals when reality doesn't suit their ideology. Why would they need to become Heaven Breakers? I'm not a Heaven Breaker, and I have consumed many Heaven Breakers."
"I do not have a Cosmos, and yet, I act like a Cosmos. My body can support life like a Cosmos, but it can also fight like a body. Face it, Alex, the concept of a Cosmos is antiquated. You are the past, while I'm the future!"
"You want me to prove it once again to you? Fine! Watch!"
Alex gritted his teeth. He knew what Shang was about to do.
Their trajectories changed yet again, and within moments, they appeared in front of a gigantic silver ball.
A healthy Cosmos, and compared to the last one, this was not ownerless. The Heaven of this Cosmos was still alive.
Usually, Shang needed to fight the owner of the Cosmos. After all, if the owner could focus on what was going on inside their Cosmos, all of Shang's people would die. That was why Shang's chosen Cosmoses had to either be ownerless or have a busy owner.
The owner of this Cosmos was very much busy.
The owner of this Cosmos was busy chasing Shang.
Alex appeared in front of his Cosmos, waiting for Shang.
Yet, Shang just turned around and fled into the distance.
Alex gritted his teeth. If Shang managed to flee from Alex's perception, Alex would find it almost impossible to find him. Because of that, Alex was forced to chase after Shang.
But then, Shang just turned around again and circled around Alex's Cosmos, forcing him to defend.
The two of them moved back and forth, and eventually, the cloud of Death expanded to several times its size.
Alex launched several attacks, but moments later, he felt a deep and searing pain.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Shang fled into the distance.
Alex noticed that a humongous tentacle had been left behind by Shang. The tentacle had penetrated the walls of Alex's Cosmos and wriggled around.
Alex immediately destroyed the tentacle and repaired the walls of his Cosmos before leaving again.
Repairing his Cosmos had taken a relatively long time, and if he didn't leave right away, he would lose Shang.
Alex couldn't even look at his own Cosmos since all of his focus was on dealing with Shang.
However, he didn't need to look at his Cosmos to know what Shang had done. After all, Shang had done this several times already.
Just now, when the tentacle had broken through the walls of Alex's Cosmos, a tremendous army of Shang's followers shot out of the tentacle. The tentacle itself was filled with dense Death, which Shang's followers harvested.
The Cult of Final Fate had received trillions of veteran soldiers, which carried tremendous amounts of Death.
Alex launched another attack, and this attack was almost 3% stronger than his previous ones.
This increase in power came from the powerful beings his Cosmos had received from Shang.
Alex gritted his teeth.
He knew that his power would drop again. After all, Shang's followers would try to weaken his Cosmos.
'I need the Seeker who has comprehended the Major Law of Death to grow!' Alex thought. "The stronger they are, the more Death I can use!"
'I need to speed up my Cosmos. It will be a significant drain on my Energy, but I need to do it!'
Moments later, the Energy inside the Cosmos changed.
This was the change in Energy that Kyle had noticed.
The Cult of Final Fate had refilled its Death Storages and had received an army of powerful new members. Reality had been sped up.
All of that...
Because Kyle had created his Refined Law.
