Chapter 1164: Wild's Summit
Chapter 1164: Wild's Summit
Red's team reappeared in the Immortal Dimension. They were located on a huge Planet, which had a diameter of almost a billion kilometers. Yet, this Planet was nothing when compared to the Planet beside it.
The Planet connected to this one was so large that Kyle could barely see its curvature with his Divine Consciousness. It had to be trillions upon trillions of kilometers in diameter. The Planet was barren and lifeless. It was essentially just a huge ball of dirt, sand, and stone.
However, Kyle could also sense certain emotions in the local Energy Fluctuations. Reading these emotions wasn't difficult, and they basically just conveyed one simple message.
They told Kyle where the Protected City was, and according to the fluctuations, the Protected City was on the humongous Planet.
'Wait a second!' Kyle thought as he noticed something. 'Why is my Divine Consciousness so small?!'
Kyle was close to the border between the two Planets, but he could barely see anything of the other Planet with his Divine Consciousness. In fact, his eyes could see even more of the Planet than his Divine Consciousness, which was crazy.
'In the Hero Dimension, my Divine Consciousness had a radius of around 20 billion kilometers, but now, I can't even sense a million kilometers of my surroundings! No one told me about that! I hope I'm not the only one suffering from this.'
Kyle inspected his Karmic Luck and his aura to make sure that everything was alright.
'Neutral Karmic Luck. The protection granted after ascension is still active, which means no one will attack me for now. This is supposed to hold for 30 minutes, and I've already wasted a couple of minutes. I can still think about this later, but for now, I have to get to the Protected City.'
Kyle listened to the Energy waves in the surroundings and tele-'Oof!' he thought as he felt like a regular Mortal who had just tried to lift a house. His mind and perception swam for a moment due to the strain. 'Right, can't teleport. Guess I have to fly.'
BANG!
Kyle jumped off the Planet and distorted reality around him with his External Complex Law of Major Primordial Forces.
As he flew towards the other Planet, he felt his Energy draining rapidly. 'What the fuck is up with this?! Why am I using that much Energy?!'
Kyle stopped using his External Law, and his usage of Energy reduced drastically. However, his speed dropped just as quickly. In fact, his speed kept dropping until it reached zero. Then, he started to fall back towards the smaller Planet.
'I can't even fly without using my External Law?!' Kyle thought in shock. 'Dude! Abyssal Depths didn't say anything about this! She just said that teleportation doesn't work! Sebastian also didn't mention this.'
Kyle used his Energy again to change the trajectory of his fall. Instead of falling towards the smaller Planet, he was now falling towards the bigger Planet.
It took several seconds until Kyle reached the actual gravitational influence of the bigger Planet, and when that happened, he didn't need to use his External Law anymore.
His speed increased more and more, but the Planet barely seemed to get closer. It was just that big.
Even after a full minute, Kyle was still accelerating. By now, his speed was faster than his peak speed.
'I'm pretty sure I can survive the fall,' he thought with a bit of nervousness.
As he kept falling, he saw a glimpse of a group of three Immortals. The group was hovering in the space between the two Planets, using Formation Arrays to keep them stable. Based on their Energy fluctuations, they were Adept Immortals. Two of them just looked at the huge Planet, while the last one looked at Kyle. The last one was also the one who was using the Formation Array.
When the Adept Immortal noticed the protective aura around Kyle, he just snorted and looked away.
'I guess this is one of the groups that hunt around the Protected City,' Kyle thought. 'Luckily, I'm still under protection. Otherwise, I would've been forced to reveal my power.'
Some seconds later, Kyle noticed another group made of Adept Immortals.
The Energy Fluctuations around Kyle became more intense, and in the next moment, he felt a wall of Energy appearing right in front of him.
Within an instant, he fell through the wall of Energy, and as he did, his perception changed.
Like an explosion, Kyle's Divine Consciousness expanded to thousands of times its size. In no time, the range of Kyle's Divine Consciousness returned to its peak.
Kyle could feel that reality had become far less oppressive. He easily stopped his forward momentum and hovered in the middle of space without issues. It didn't even cost him any Energy.
At the same time, his Communicator sent him a message.
"Welcome to Wild's Summit (Protected City)!"
'Does that mean I'm safe now?' Kyle thought as he sent Energy into his Communicator.
The Communicator showed Kyle his status, which stated that he was currently inside a Protected City as a temporary resident. Beside his status was also a timer which showed a time limit of ten years.
Kyle wanted more information, and the Communicator gave it to him.
Every temporary resident could only stay within Wild's Summit for ten years at a time. Going to the Connecting Planet in the Main Dimension would pause the timer but not reset it. The timer would only reset when someone hadn't been in Wild's Summit for an entire day. Alternatively, Kyle could spend a Grade Nine Energy Stone to become a semi-permanent resident. One Grade Nine Energy Stone would buy him 32,000 years of residency.
'Guess that means I made it,' Kyle thought with a sigh. 'Now, I just need to find Sebastian, which shouldn't be difficult.'
Kyle read through the information about Wild's Summit and found many interesting things. The conditions a Protected City needed to fulfill to become one gave Kyle plenty of answers.
'The Protecting City needs to be on a Planet with a diameter that rivals or exceeds the size of an average Primary World. The Protecting City needs several Formation Arrays, and all of these Formation Arrays need to encompass the entire Planet. One of these Formation Arrays makes reality more malleable, allowing Immortals to live without the heavy suppression of the Immortal Dimension. That's why my Divine Consciousness is normal again.'
After reading for a bit, Kyle told his Communicator to get into contact with the Teleportation Formation Array Network. Moments later, he got a menu with several locations.
'Sebastian and Abyssal Depths are waiting on the Descension Plaza,' Kyle thought as he pressed the button for the Descension Plaza.
White mist gathered around him, and in the next moment, he was teleported to the Descension Plaza.
As soon as Kyle arrived, he could see thousands of Immortals standing near the edges of the Descension Plaza. The Immortals had different levels, but most of them were Beginner or Adept Immortals. There were also a lot of Minor Immortals. New Immortals were about as rare as Medium Immortals. There were only a select few Major Immortals.
"Hey, you made it!" Sebastian transmitted to Kyle with excitement.
Kyle looked over, and he could see Sebastian standing beside Abyssal Depths.
"I made it... yes..." Kyle answered before focusing on Abyssal Depths, who looked back with an even expression.
"Why didn't you tell me about the suppression of my Divine Consciousness?" Kyle asked.
"You didn't ask," she answered calmly. "I was sure you could manage."
This was all he needed to know. While Abyssal Depths didn't say it directly, her message was clear.
She just wanted to test Kyle, and she also wanted to make a statement.
Kyle hadn't shared important information with her, which was why she hadn't shared important information with him.
A team was supposed to share information, and if Kyle wasn't willing to share the bare minimum of information, she would do the same thing.
