Chapter 1187: Advanced Material Fusion

For the remaining 500 years, Kyle experimented with reducing the number of Law Infusions for his Formation Arrays.

'It's surprisingly difficult,' he thought. 'I've never realized how unusual it is to have so many Law Infusions in your designs. The free designs I can browse only have a couple hundred or a thousand. Meanwhile, I'm using tens of thousands.'

'No wonder I've felt like my progress was a bit too fast. I've basically designed Formation Arrays that are tailored to my Laws, which means they take stuff from all Laws. Like, if I have to make a Fire Formation Array, I use Law Infusions from like 20 different Laws. Major Fire, Minor Fire, Spacetime Fire, Spacetime Water, Major Water, Major Light, Minor Light, and so on. You basically have to know all of these Laws to set up my Formation Arrays, which is kinda crazy for normal Seekers.'

'It's like I'm designing a machine that only I can build, use, and maintain. Not surprising that nobody is interested in those. I guess making stuff easier to set up is the hard part.'

'Although, is it really necessary? I don't need other people to set up my Formation Arrays. As long as I can set them up, there are no problems. Reducing Law Infusions just makes my designs economically valuable, and I don't think I can create Formation Arrays that are better than the ones that are already on sale.'

Naturally, while the Abyss Hammer Team was studying Formation Arrays, the Karmic Hammer Team didn't just idle. Green had already spent a couple of Grade Nine Energy Stones to purchase some Formation Array Guides. These guides contained some lessons and finished designs.

'Even the harder ones in the Guides only have like 2,000 Law Infusions, and all of the Infusions just stretch across six Laws. Additionally, they are only in three categories. Space, Major Fire, Spacetime Fire, Gravity Fire, Major Metal, Gravity Metal. As long as you are Immortal and have a Metal and Fire Affinity, you can set it up. Meanwhile, if you want to set up my Formation Arrays, you basically have to be a Lord, a Demigod, or me.'

'Anyway, it's about time for the third task,' Kyle thought as he asked for his evaluation. Some seconds later, he unlocked the third task and looked at it.

'Once again, it shouldn't be hard to complete, but there is one requirement that's quite strict. This time, it seems to revolve around the intensity of the Energy Wave. The Energy Wave needs to be so well managed that almost no Energy escapes. This is very important for one simple reason.'

'Concealment. If the Energy Wave disperses too much, others can sense it much more clearly. You can encounter quite some problems if you don't manage the passive dispersal of your Energy Wave. In the best case, they will notice that there's a Formation Array. In the worst case, they can read its entire design.'

'Actually, this task came at just the right time. Every additional transformation of the Energy Wave disperses a bit of it. Fewer Law Infusions means fewer transformations means fewer dispersals.'

'Let's see how well I do.'

Kyle started experimenting, and after just a couple of weeks, he ran into some problems.

'I've reduced my Law Infusions to just 5,000, but I need to get even lower. I need to get to about a thousand, which won't be easy. In fact, this might be the first difficult task.'

For a moment, Kyle glanced at the suggested design for the third task. This time, there was a Node missing.

'You know, this design should work. I don't understand what rules these designs follow, but after they stabilize, they work with our rules. Their layout doesn't change, which means this is a layout that works with our Laws.'

'I should give it a try.'

Kyle created the layout and experimented with different Law Infusions.

Sadly, even after a century, he got nowhere.

'I can't see any way this will succeed,' Kyle thought as Black sighed. 'I fear there might be scattered insights of Level Eight or even Level Nine Laws in the finished product, and I don't have those Laws. Yeah, well, at least I learned something.'

While Black was coming up with a design, Green went out and bought an expensive Formation Array Guide for 20 Grade Nine Energy Stones. By now, Kyle had already invested 27 Grade Nine Energy Stones into his education.

This Guide specifically talked about making Formation Arrays commercially viable, but it was only a basic Guide. Knowledge that could lead to profits was always expensive.

'Wait, I can do that?' Kyle thought as Green read through a passage in the Guide. 'I can include Law Infusions in Material Fusions? I've tried that before, but the materials just broke into pieces. You're telling me that actually works?!'

As Kyle kept reading, his eyes nearly fell out.

'What the fuck?! This is brilliant! I would've never thought of trying this! Why did nobody tell me?!'

While thinking about the knowledge he had just unlocked, Kyle came to a sobering realization.

'Ah, fuck... yeah, I can see why so few Immortals count as Formation Array Masters. I was wondering why everything seemed so easy. Sure, reducing the number of Law Infusions is hard, but as long as you can set up your Formation Arrays, you can be the Formation Array Master of an Excursion Team. I was starting to think that I might become one pretty quickly, but yeah... no.'

Green looked at the Guide with worry and gulped.

'My brain is already hurting.'

What had Kyle learned about? What was the thing that made it so hard to become a proper Immortal Formation Array Master?

Advanced Material Fusion was the answer.

Kyle had been correct when he had said that infusing Laws during Material Fusion was impossible. However, there was something that could be infused.

Other Formation Arrays.

Advanced Formation Array Materials were not just materials that one could fuse. In order to create these materials, it was necessary to set up several Temporary Formation Arrays.

There was a Formation Array that translated other Formation Arrays.

There was one that stabilized other Formation Arrays during the translation process.

There was one that warped materials, essentially turning the materials' Laws malleable.

There was one that kept reality's forces from interfering.

In total, there were over twenty Formation Arrays that had to be set up to make Advanced Material Fusion possible, and worst of all, most of these Formation Arrays would vanish alongside the actual Infusion Formation Array.

However, the thing that worried Kyle wasn't the creation of these Advanced Formation Array Materials.

'It's the infinite possibilities this opens up,' Kyle thought as Green took a deep breath. 'If I can infuse these Formation Arrays, I can also infuse other Formation Arrays. Powerful Formation Arrays need several Supporting Formation Arrays. Yet, with this technique, there's another layer. The Primary Formation Array can have Infused Formation Arrays, and the Supporting Formation Arrays can also have Infused Formation Arrays. Even more, it might even be possible to infuse a Complex Formation Array into another Formation Array!'

'This is potentially infinitely recursive! As long as I'm good enough, I can create Formation Arrays inside Formation Arrays inside Formation Arrays and so on!'

Kyle felt like his brain was starting to burn as he tried to design a Formation Array with his newfound knowledge.

'This will not be as easy as I had hoped.'
