Chapter 1476: Broken
Chapter 1476: Broken
"!!!" Revon and Melissa couldn’t help but widen their eyes.
Revon didn’t sense any attacks, but why would his hand fly as if it had been severed from the inside?
"Do you think I will let you do whatever you want? You have hit me enough times with that hand." Spider grinned.
Melissa got a better view from the side. She hurriedly shouted, "Revon. There are many threads around that hand. Even a watermelon will break if you bring enough rubber bands."
Revon finally understood what was going on. Because the threads were invisible to his eyes, he couldn’t keep track of the number of webs on his hand. His build also made it hard for him to feel them.
To think that Spider would use that fact to chop his hand like this. And if he wasn’t careful, his body would also become like his hand.
Spider thought this was going to be an opportunity to turn the situation around. As long as Revon’s hands were gone, he would become useless soon.
However, Spider and Melissa underestimated the kind of man Revon was.
The shock only lasted for two seconds before the intensity in his gaze returned. He even raised his hand again as if the loss of his hand was no big deal.
"You... should have severed my whole arm." Revon gathered his energy to the tip of his arm instead of his hand.
"What? NO!" Spider panicked for the first time. This was the first time she had encountered a madman.
When the hand was gone, he would actually use his arm to punch her.
Bam!
The punch even had the same amount of power, which meant he completely ignored the pain in his body.
"How..." Spider didn’t understand what was going on. Why would all her tricks never work against Revon? "Why are you not in pain?"
"Not in pain? I’m always in pain because of the likes of you!" Revon roared back and punched her on the nose, causing the nose to bend inward instead of outward. A third of her teeth were already gone and her jaws were almost smashed.
It wasn’t like Revon didn’t feel any pain. If it were the Revon from many years ago, his body would probably start to give up.
However, Revon had been bearing the pain for so many years. Unlike the others, he kept it in his heart all this time as a reminder of his weakness.
He had grown used to pain, to the point where nothing was even painful to him anymore.
Among the entire Sleeping Garden, he might be the most broken. He completely hid that broken state by training and treating them like a proper elder.
The memory he thought he had buried ended up resurfacing again.
The first memory was of his daughter. The daughter he loved so much... He could see her in the eye... No, he could only see her eye.
When he returned, the first thing he saw was the beautiful blue eye of her daughter having been gouged and thrown away on the street.
Her nails were gone. He could see so many wounds that reflected the amount of torture she had to experience.
Seeing such a thing made him think that the world had been completely destroyed.
For a parent, there was nothing more painful than seeing such brutality.
"You piece of shit won’t even understand the amount of pain a parent has to endure to see his child in that state!" Revon punched her again, unleashing his emotion. The punch completely crushed her jaw, making her mouth almost gone.
Even with the black cell aiding her recovery, it wouldn’t be fast enough.
The second memory was of his wife. He had been dismembered piece by piece as if it were following the bones of her body.
She was shedding bloody tears as Revon could imagine the pain of her having to witness her own child experiencing such torture. He couldn’t imagine what kind of pain she had back then.
"You don’t know anything!" Revon couldn’t help but shed tears so hot it was as if blood was flowing out of his eyes as well.
This time, his punch cracked her skull.
Spider was supposed to be stronger than Revon, especially after letting the black cell drain her life force.
Yet, she couldn’t comprehend what kind of man was standing before her. He didn’t feel pain, nor did he avoid her attack.
His entire purpose was to inflict damage on her, regardless of the situation.
This was her biggest miscalculation. If she had played it safe, she would have won against him, but she was so distracted by Melissa that she miscalculated the ability of this man.
Revon raised his hand one more time. Spider grabbed Revon’s wrist to release herself from his choke, but to no avail. She thought about pouring enough thread to sever this hand as well.
However, Revon didn’t care what happened to his body anymore. The last piece of the image flashed in his mind.
It was something he couldn’t describe with one word. There were three trees in front of him. These three trees were not natural. They were just wooden poles with limbs attached to them to make them look like trees.
The three trees made a triangle, with the middle being a mountain of corpses. There was yet another line of limbs, heads, and bodies, as if symbolizing a welcome plaque.
The blood river was made so that it resembled a red carpet, as if the one who made this wanted to welcome the person who would witness such a gruesome piece.
"Aaahhhh!" Revon screamed at the top of his lungs as he sent one more punch, but this time, the punch actually hit the ground next to her head.
He missed. No, he deliberately missed the target.
There was already fear stuck in her eyes, but killing her was just an easy way out.
That was why Revon changed his mind at the last moment.
He grabbed her head and lifted her up as if she were trash. "Melissa. Killing her just like this is too easy for her, don’t you think?"
Melissa gulped down before nodding her head.
