Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1596: Original God

Chapter 1596: Original God

Nathan continued to look at the illusion, but there wasn’t much left anymore. After the battle was over, Asura looked around the fortress one last time.

He had a glimmer of hope that someone was still alive.

Unfortunately, fate was cruel.

After confirming there were no survivors, he unleashed another wave of rage and devoured the aliens.

Yes, he went berserk and ate the aliens. His jaws were somehow strong enough to pierce through their bodies.

Even with his mouth covered in blood, he didn’t show any sign of disgust. There was only disgust on his face.

Ultimately, he figured out how Asura and other people were able to get stronger.

They managed to awaken their ena, but that was just the beginning. Once they were able to kill the aliens, they devoured them. In other words, they also swallowed the alien cores, giving them more ena.

As a result, they were able to fight with the magical energy, allowing the Asura Palace to hold back the aliens for so long.

If other countries hadn’t sat by at this time, Asura might be able to grow to his full potential.

It was such a shame that a person like him would have to be buried while protecting his hometown. Although he couldn’t be called a hero, he was definitely not a devil as history recorded.

"Rest in peace," Nathan muttered to all the people who lost their lives in this fortress.

Anubis said, "This is the end of the memory. I can’t trace anything beyond this point. As expected, Asura might have died, but he definitely didn’t die in this place."

"I understand." Nathan nodded. "In that case, let’s clean up, shall we? Unfortunately, we can’t figure out any records. Still, let’s take another look at the fortress to see if we can find something."

"Yes." Anubis acknowledged the order and signaled to the others.

Nidhogg immediately carried the remnant souls and brought them to Anubis.

Anubis then activated his Ankh of Reincarnation and purified all these souls before letting them pass to the underworld.

Mae then released the illusion and returned the Memory of the Dead to Nathan. Peng and Garuda used their wind element to sweep the area, clearing up the rubble to see if there were things left behind.

Once they had cleaned up, Qilin finally figured out why the flow of energy was weird.

"So, that’s how it is. There was still one person who survived. And looking at his power, it was as if he were shouldering all his fallen comrades. Should I say he received their anger and desperation? That was why the energy flowed to him. It was simply a power beyond a mortal realm, but not enough to be called divine rule."

Nathan nodded in understanding. The power of emotion was indeed strong. It was more than enough to confuse Qilin.

"What are we going to do next?" Jinwu deactivated his domain and returned to his small form and perched on Nathan’s shoulder.

Nathan thought for a moment. "Well, let’s build a grave here. Then, we will take another look at the fortress. If there is nothing else, we will just recover our energy here before heading to our next location."

"All right." Jinwu took off into the air, searching for other clues around.

"Master. I’ve built it." Iris extended her hand, showing the grave she had made.

It wasn’t a grand grave, but it was proper enough for a memorial.

"Thank you, Iris." Nathan smiled. It looked like she had built it on her own initiative.

"Not at all. These people just reminded me of my home. I used to wonder if my family was properly buried or not, but the answer was rather obvious." Iris smiled wryly. "Master. If it’s not too much to ask, may I return to my previous home after this trip? It won’t take long, I promise. I just want to build a memorial for them. This is the least I can do for them."

Nathan patted Iris’ head with a gentle smile. He almost forgot that Iris was still a 14-year-old kid.

She was once desperate to survive, so she couldn’t think of anything else.

On the other hand, he felt he had failed as her master. He should have been more considerate of her and proposed it first. "Sorry."

"No. I’m just happy that I have a new family now." Iris smiled, but Nathan could see her lips trembling as she was having a hard time holding back her tears.

Nathan just kept stroking her head until she calmed down.

Meanwhile, Nyx went to Xolotl to see the progress. As a fellow true god, she understood what Xolotl was trying to do.

And because his divinity was related to death, he could extract a portion of that power to help Selena and Noelle. Only Xolotl or Anubis could probably have such a power here.

Selena was sitting in a lotus pose with her eyes closed.

The red energy coming from her body became a bit violent, but Selena looked like she was managing to contain it.

’As expected, she is indeed talented. She has destroyed her mortal blood and is gradually replacing it with divine blood. This way, a pseudo divine body will be created. No, wait. What’s this?’ Nyx frowned.

She felt something was off.

"What’s going on?" Nyx approached Xolotl, asking about Selena’s condition.

"Your summoner is more talented than I originally thought." Xolotl smiled. "I should congratulate you. To answer your question, she is currently upgrading her blood. Instead of destroying the blood and creating it anew with divine power, she is actually forcing her own blood to evolve. Do you understand what this means?"

Nyx widened her eyes. "Original God?"

"Yes. There are gods who were born from other gods. There are mortals who achieve godhood. However, there are a few gods who are created from nothing. It may be through evolution. They’re called Original Gods. She is attempting to be one of them, and it looks like she has a high chance of succeeding."

Nyx dropped her jaw in disbelief. "Just like my father... Chaos."
