Chapter 1835: Rebirth Project
Chapter 1835: Rebirth Project
"This..."
"What’s going on?"
Thuka and the others were confused.
"Are you not going to fight?" Thuka asked carefully.
Nathan shook his head. "While fighting right now is interesting, I am not fighting today. Well, I do have a few reasons, but for now, my familiars can handle it."
"That’s..."
Thuka couldn’t exactly say it was wrong. After all, even a few of his familiars were strong enough to defeat this world’s gods.
"It’s fine, it’s fine. If they can’t handle it, everyone is ready to jump into the fight." Nathan chuckled. "I’m not underestimating the opponent, so take it easy."
"This..." Thuka glanced at Misty Frost and Alahambad Warrior. They would have been in a huge problem if they had to fight against the alien by themselves.
They could probably expel it, but they wondered if they could kill it.
Even if they could, they would be injured. Recovering from that injury would take quite a long time.
That was why they wanted to gang up on the aliens, even if it meant asking Nathan to join.
It turned out Nathan’s familiars were more than enough to face this kind of alien.
When they looked at the alien on the horizon, they couldn’t help but feel a chill down their spines.
The alien was producing some sort of barrier around its body. Nidhogg and Jinwu flew above it. Because the world was covered in mist, Jinwu had to fly a bit higher to gather sunlight.
He then pierced the mist with that sunlight and tried to melt the barrier. Nidhogg also used his chaos flame to burn it down.
However, the barrier actually withstood their power.
"Not enough? Add me then." Orochi let out his poisonous breath.
The barrier started to flicker, but a hole still didn’t open.
"As expected of an alien of this caliber, I guess it’s hard for us to pierce through its superpower. But well, this is not going to be the end of it." Anubis harrumphed.
The others were following Fenrir’s suggestion. They fought from a distance so that there wouldn’t be any injuries.
But that didn’t mean he was willing to accept this fate.
"Come!" Anubis activated his domain, using the Scale of Justice to weaken the alien. "Judgment."
A burst of black energy struck the alien, causing the barrier to lose its color.
This time, holes started to appear.
Qilin and Mae just looked at each other. They wanted to become true gods, but it wasn’t exactly their priority. They served the same person. For Nathan, they wanted to get stronger. However, others becoming true gods would be a bigger addition to the group compared to them reaching that level.
Still, it didn’t mean they wouldn’t do anything in this fight.
They nodded at each other.
Qilin stomped the ground. "Harmony!"
Qilin extended his power, weakening the barrier’s power. Then, Mae clapped her strength, enveloping the barrier with her illusion.
Then, she activated the power, turning this barrier into an illusion before making it disappear.
Finally, with the combined efforts of everyone, the barrier was gone.
Nidhogg, Jinwu, and Orochi’s breaths finally reached the alien.
"Kieekkk!" The alien let out a scream, but it then produced a burst of sound that neutralized the breaths. In addition, the shock wave from the sound shattered everything around it.
Anubis, Qilin, and Mae were forced to retreat. Some remained as they managed to withstand this power.
"You are too noisy!" Kun suddenly dropped to the ground.
"!!!" Nathan widened his eyes in panic. "Ehm... I think we have to clean up after this..."
"..." Ananta couldn’t help but agree.
After all, the moment Kun dropped from the sky, the impact caused the ground to shatter and turn into a massive crater. It destroyed everything within a few kilometers radius.
"His water and wind elements are good, but that size is truly unfair." Xolotl chuckled.
"What is his weight again?"
"If you want, he can probably cause an earthquake easily."
They couldn’t help but giggle, knowing that Kun might look harmless and docile, but he was the one who could make the biggest mess.
Thuka turned pale. "This..."
Misty Frost nodded. She didn’t know how they were going to handle this problem. They might have to send people to this area to restore the terrain.
If this had been left behind, the rain would turn it into a lake. At that time, they would have quite a big area without the mist.
Nathan waved his hand. "Don’t worry. I will restore everything after this fight. My power is time, so I’ll turn back time to restore that area."
"Ah!"
Thuka and the others felt embarrassed. They were the ones asking for help, but they ended up making Nathan take care of the aftermath.
"It’s fine, it’s fine." Nathan waved his hand. He simply wanted to make a good impression on this place.
Nathan had been observing the fight all this time.
"So, this is a god-level alien." Nathan crossed his arms.
"Disappointed?" Xolotl asked.
"No, not really. It’s strong. I don’t know if I can win against it in a one-on-one battle. However, we are together, so there’s less chance for us to be separated." Nathan thought for a moment. "What I’m worried about is the chance for us to fight separately."
"What do you mean?" Xolotl raised his eyebrows.
"I’m thinking about starting the rebirth project. By making all of you undergo rebirth, you may will be free from my influence. This means you will no longer be my familiars bound by the data stored by that world. Instead, you will become an individual.
"I don’t doubt that you will fight alongside me, but by undergoing rebirth, you can fight on another battlefield.
"This way, our fighting force will become much more flexible." Nathan crossed his arms.
Xolotl frowned. Nathan wouldn’t have such a thought unless he figured out something else.
"Do you mean we will have to face a situation where we need to fight separately?" Tiamat asked.
"Yes."
"Can’t you rely on the girls?"
"Well, I will probably need them to be able to fight alongside their respective familiars and somehow handle one outer god, not the big four, but outer gods."
"Such high expectations..."
