Chapter 1882: Technology Advancement
Chapter 1882: Technology Advancement
While the empire was thinking about the upcoming campaign, Nathan and the others had settled down on a planet outside the empire’s surveillance.
"How is it going?" Nathan asked.
"Please take a look at this." Machina showed the new phone to Nathan. The phone looked like a combination of a smartphone and a military phone. It had a very big and long antenna on the side.
However, the interface looked similar to the smartphone that he knew.
"I can only make it to this level right now. The antenna here is transmitting a signal through a spacetime tunnel to reach a very far distance. Currently, the range is about three thousand light-years."
"That’s not too far, if we’re talking about cosmic scale." Nathan nodded in understanding. "What’s the strongest one in the empire?"
"Military-grade phones should be around half a million light-years."
"Oh!" Nathan nodded, impressed by the scale.
"However, since they don’t travel so far because they want to harness everything they have in nearby star systems first, it hasn’t been used often."
"Fair enough." Nathan nodded. "But this should be enough for now. We just don’t know how far we will be separated next time. We still have the Soul Contract as a backup."
"For the time being, please take this, Master."
"Okay. Thank you." Nathan accepted the phone. "So, how is it going with Luna?"
"Lady Luna is very helpful. She can do things that are normally not possible. It looks like she is interested in nanomaterials." Machina pointed to the side with her hands. "She is over there, playing with the microscope."
"I see." Nathan smiled. "It’s good then."
"Yes. I will continue according to the agreed plan for now. If you wish to have anything you want, please inform me, Master. I will try to make it for you."
"It’s alright for now. Just continue to develop it. We will store everything by using the space ring anyway."
"The space ring is indeed very magical. Am I really allowed to study it or even wield a similar power to yours, Master?"
"Yeah. For now, continue with the project. Once it reaches a certain threshold, it’s time for you to learn about it as well. Luna will be your main teacher, but I will monitor your progress and help you if you are stuck."
"Understood."
Nathan then walked to the side of the room where they showed the original plan.
Nathan wanted to have three things first. The first one was the phone that could help him with a lot of things.
Storing documents and scanning documents would be useful on a daily basis. In fact, Luna actually thought about using the special material to build the phone so that Nathan could imbue his power and create a space storage. In other words, the phone could store almost everything internally, not just data.
The camera was also going to be useful for pictures and videos as proof. This way, Mae wouldn’t handle most problems related to this.
Still, the best thing he could get from this phone was actually the communication system. He could call someone in nearby star systems without any delay.
It would be super helpful if they decided to investigate the area separately. Nathan didn’t have to worry about the girls anymore.
Of course, each phone had been equipped with cosmic GPS that allowed them to ping each other’s locations as long as it was still within range.
This would be the most helpful tool for their space exploration this time. If later Machina could upgrade them further, they could go separate ways without any problems, knowing that they could still talk despite being too far away.
Nathan added a lot of books to the phone so that everyone could search for their own power being explained scientifically.
The second item he wanted was a telescope that allowed him to observe the universe. Of course, his objective was the three ancient battlefields. He knew about the void, but there was no telling what it contained.
He could locate the great void, but he had no information regarding the other two ancient battlefields.
Last but not least, he wanted some satellites that could be stored and released easily. It could adjust itself depending on the world they were orbiting.
This could also be a way to enhance their own transmission, not to mention the best way to actually scan the entire world.
They would be able to figure out the location of the portals more easily.
Nathan had seen a lot of science fiction novels, but he just couldn’t help but think of a few ways to use those concepts to help his exploration.
Nathan waved his hand. "Okay. You can continue your work, Machina. I’ll check on Luna."
"Understood." Machina politely bowed.
Nathan then took a peek at the situation in the other room, finding Luna experimenting with the combination between their powers and the technology.
"Oh? You’re trying that." Nathan smiled.
Luna took her eyes off the microscope and said, "Yeah. I’m trying to create a microscopic magic circle. If you use your Soul Contract, it will be much smaller than this, since it practically doesn’t exist anymore. However, I want to make a magic circle as small as possible. If I can do that, I can make a massive formation in a small item.
"I mean, think about the magic sword. If I embed my EX-Formation on it, it might produce something unimaginable. Or if we can compress the space storage magic circle into a massive space formation, can we like... store an entire planet?"
"That’s a rather extreme idea you have." Nathan shook his head helplessly. He had seen characters destroying planets, but this was the first time he encountered someone who wanted to store the entire planet.
"At this rate, you might end up creating a formation that allows you to store a universe and let people live in it." Nathan chuckled.
"That’s an interesting idea. I will set that goal for the future." Luna smiled.
"You really..." Nathan crossed his arms, as if he wanted to say something. "I really can’t win against you."
"Anyway, how is Flora doing?"
"She’s looking good. It looks like she can finish refining that power two days before the time limit. I will re-enter the planet and hand the girls the phone so that we can communicate with each other more easily."
"Understood. Bring Sera with you. Selena is sticking to her duty, but Sera is probably bored."
"I will. See you later."
