Chapter 1961: One of the Three Ancient Battlefields?
"Ugh." Bella was on one knee, staring at a man with big arms that looked like the combination of demon and dragon.
"You have no chance against me. It’s your honor to be fancied by me. With my Grand Palace, nothing will be able to stop me."
"Grand Palace... What does it even possess to scare everyone?" Bella looked deviant.
"You are so clueless, but I guess that’s what makes you charming. The Grand Palace has twelve elders who have their divinity. It’s only obvious that we’re going to take over the world."
"Taking over the world. The only thing you think is your own ego. You don’t even realize that your day in this place is numbered. You will lose that battlefield to the aliens."
"Hmph! Aliens? They’re not even worth mentioning. I can always retake that battlefield any time I want."
"I don’t believe you. You don’t have the strength for that."
"I don’t, but the Grand Palace has found a new place, a burial ground that has many gods in it. With those corpses, we will be able to secure a lot of precious things. No one can stop us after that."
"A new place? There’s no such a thing."
"There is... in Sthema."
"Where is Sthema?"
"Sthema is..." The man suddenly froze. He realized something. ’Why am I... even answering her? It’s true that I want her, but there’s no reason for me to reveal anything to her...’
"What’s wrong? Where is Sthema?" Bella asked with an innocent face.
’She is supposed to be someone with a divinity like me. How could she be so defenseless when she was struggling so much just a moment ago? Since when...’ The man panicked.
He raised both arms and shouted, "Grand Demonic Arms!"
Unfortunately for him, the moment he activated his power, the energy around his arms dispersed, turning the arms back into normal human arms.
"Well... I guess this is the extent of my power right now..." Bella sighed and rose back to her feet as if nothing happened. The wounds on her body disappeared as if they had never existed to begin with.
"You—" The man realized what was going on, but it was too late.
Bella simply grabbed her tobacco pipe and hit him in the forehead, causing the man to fall unconscious.
"Gah!" The man dropped to the ground, unable to do anything else.
Bella snapped her fingers. The area around her started to glitch before disappearing, revealing the true environment.
It turned out everything was under Bella’s illusion. Even when she was supposed to be defeated, it was just an illusion to let the man’s guard down.
Bella glanced to the side, "Sera? Where are the others?"
"After hearing about the Grand Palace’s overall strength, they were leaving to decimate that place," replied Sera.
"Oh?! Are they going to be fine? Well, I guess they will be fine. I’m just worried about what will happen after that."
"Selena and Evelyn approve of the operation, so it should be fine." Sera shrugged.
"You’re right." Bella nodded. "Did you see the entire interrogation?"
"Yes."
"This burial ground... is it what I think it is?"
"I believe so. It might be one of the ancient battlefields that Nathan has been talking about. If that’s true, then we really should go here." Sera nodded in agreement.
"Yeah. We should probably check first. Well, we can do that after destroying this annoying Grand Palace. They have been harassing us from the start." Bella let out a long sigh.
"Right?" Sera chuckled. "Still, you need to report it to Nathan about this burial ground. Just let him know about the possibility."
"Fair enough." Bella took out her phone. "Our satellite has been deployed, right?"
"Yeah. Nothing has changed."
"Good." Bella was trying to see if she would get a signal to connect to Nathan, but it turned out there was actually a message from Flora. "Hmm? Flora is sending a message, not Nathan? That’s unusual. I thought Machina would be the one to do it."
"Flora? What is she saying?" Sera was also curious since it wasn’t normal for Flora to send a message directly.
"Let’s see..." Bella opened it and spelled it out loud. "We are about to be done with the current planet. I now have four absolute elements.
"After talking about it, Nathan is worried about the next planet because his bad luck hasn’t flared up.
"So, I mentioned the fact that we would face the alien, the black cell, and his bad luck at the same time. He told me he was prepared for it. That was why he needed all of us to work together.
"In other words, all of us would have to reach a level where we could get strong enough to influence the battle directly so that all of us could combine our powers.
"That also meant Bella and I needed to work our way up. I managed to improve myself, so he was actually worried about you, Bella."
Sera looked confused. "He didn’t worry about me? I’m the one who has the lowest combat prowess."
"Look at the last part." Bella pointed to her phone, gesturing for her to continue reading.
"I did mention Sera, considering Sera often complained about it. I thought he was going to help Sera, but he actually told me that everyone on the team could be replaced, but not Sera. Can you tell Sera about it? Maybe... understanding what that actually means?"
Bella looked at Sera with a confused expression. "Sera? Do you know what he’s talking about?"
"No one can replace me?" Sera pointed at herself in confusion. "What is he talking about?"
"You don’t understand it either?"
"No. If I were that strong, I wouldn’t have to complain or think about summoning another familiar. I just don’t know how to get stronger. I’ve asked Janus, but he can’t offer anything. You know... I am one of the few who don’t have true gods as familiars. Janus is just a god."
Bella tilted her head in confusion. "Well, Flora also did tell me that Nathan was considering lifting the ban to summon Loki so that I could get stronger. Maybe we should ask the others?"
