Chapter 2028 The Law of Eternal Drift.
Chapter 2028 The Law of Eternal Drift.
A 2.5-meter-tall, graceful being made of soft, glowing mist was sitting on a chair.
His body had no hard edges—it flowed and shifted like smoke, but he still had a clear shape, like a monster dressed in robes of starlight.
His skin shimmered with colors like blue, purple, and silver, always moving like a slow river.
His eyes were bright and deep, like tiny galaxies spinning in the dark.
Around his head floated small rings of light, slowly turning without ever touching him.
He had long claws, and his body somewhat resembled a knight.
*Picture*
He was Praline Gelatina, the Progenitor and the Leader of the Nebuliths, a race that led the World of Gelatina.
In front of Praline stood another Nebulith, his subordinate, who was here to make a report.
"The Scorvane look like they are ready for war. Their army is prepared, and they seem to be waiting for a signal. They can attack at any moment now."
"So they are going to follow through with it, huh…"
Praline muttered with a solemn look on his face.
"They will."
The subordinate nodded.
As unusual as it sounds, an army that had constantly invaded 10 different worlds was now going to invade them.
"Hasn't their number diminished? How are they invading us so boldly?"
"According to our sources, their combined might overpowers us, but that advantage gets overwritten since we are fighting in our world. It will be a battle between equals.
There will be a lot of deaths."
The subordinate spoke up.
"…"
Praline stayed silent.
He wanted to avoid war if possible, but the enemy seemed hell-bent on sacrificing everything they had for their Queen.
A thought Praline didn't share, he had no loyalty to Aurendor, the High-Level World his world was associated with. He just participated in this foolish war because he had no other choice.
"Whatever, strengthen our defenses even further, prepare formations and defensive artifacts, and double the men on watch duty.
We need to be alert all the ti—"
"Who are yo—"
"You can't go i—"
Before Praline could complete his sentence, he heard two voices.
It was the guards guarding his tent. He stared at his subordinate, who stared back, as confused as him.
Praline stood up and tried to expand his senses to see what was going on, but then, his tent was torn open, and an extremely beautiful, black-haired woman walked in.
"Are you Praline Gelatina?"
The woman questioned.
Praline narrowed his eyes, not answering the woman's question. The woman, however, just chuckled.
"Who am I kidding? I know it is you."
She completely ignored the subordinate who stood right in front of her and stared at Praline instead.
"I will only say this once:
Surrender.
There is no need to spill any blood."
To those words, Praline grinned.
"Good for us then, don't you think?
We don't bleed."
The Nebulith Progenitor then stared at the woman in front of him and his claws elongated.
No more words were needed.
He didn't know why Gelatina couldn't sense this woman's presence, even though she was clearly from another world, but right now, it didn't matter.
It was clear that the woman was an enemy, and with how she dealt with the Primordial-Level Guards outside his tent, it wasn't wrong to assume she was a Transcendent.
Praline was the only being who could defeat her, so he stepped forward and,
BOOOOOM
He expanded his domain.
Different clashing energies swirled around, the very fabric of reality started to spin, and the ground beneath one's feet began to ripple, as if it was made of water.
The air became misty, as countless stars appeared around them.
The space itself stretched and softened, coaxing everything to slow and cease its frantic motion.
The sky rippled, and clouds of mist filled the space. The mist in the air glowed faintly with colors that changed continuously.
The Law of Eternal Drift.
A law that allowed him to drift for eternity.
In simpler words, it was a law that ensured that nothing in the universe could trap, freeze, or fully destroy him.
He could drift through matter, time, and even memories, like a cloud passing through mountains.
His power made everything around him soften, slow down, and lose its sharp edges.
A quite delicate, yet powerful law.
Especially inside his domain, where his law had become absolute.
Aeliana looked around, amused.
The battlefield vanished, replaced by vast, shifting nebulae and slow-moving cosmic tides.
The stars above twinkled lazily, and the ground was now covered in a soft layer of shining dust while Aeliana herself felt some restrictions being placed on her.
Very quickly, she started to understand these restrictions.
In this domain, nothing could move faster than a thought.
The laws of time and space bent to Praline's will, and everything within the sphere of his influence felt the drag of his Eternal Drift.
Even the strongest attacks could be dissolved into gentle currents of light and air, losing their power the moment they touched the mist.
Even Praline's existence itself seemed to have distributed all over his domain; he had become one with his domain.
'Are you seeing this?'
Aeliana questioned as she looked around.
'I am.'
Nux nodded.
'His power is quite… intriguing.'
He admitted.
'Do you want it?'
Aeliana questioned.
If yes, she could capture him alive for Nux to devour, but…
'Meh, the concept of bending time and space to his will is too foolish. It only works because he is facing weaker opponents. If he was up against someone like Faelara, who had absolute control over space, he would have lost his sense.'
Nux shook his head.
'His law just looks cool; it doesn't actually amount to anything.'
'So you don't want it?'
Aeliana questioned.
'I don't.'
And the moment those words were said, Aeliana stared back at the being in front of her and then,
Snap
She snapped, and Praline's beautiful, peaceful domain collapsed and was replaced by another, much, much more horrifying domain,
A Domain of Absolute Control.
A domain where even the Eternal Drifting… could be controlled.
"What did you say about not bleeding again?"
