Chapter 2099: A-An Infinity!!
Chapter 2099: A-An Infinity!!
"You shouldn’t be able to see anything but my eyes in my domain...
How are you staring right at the beetle?
How do you know where it is...?"
Neremoth questioned as he narrowed his eyes and Nux...
He froze.
Then—
"Ah shit."
He cursed out loud, his trembling body returning to normal as if everything before was just an act.
"..."
"..."
Silence.
Absolute silence fell over the place.
"...It was all an act."
Neremoth muttered, his tone much, much heavier than before.
Nux looked into his eyes. He remained silent for a while, then—
"Ahhhh. I beg you. Please leave me?"
He spoke in an almost dead tone.
As if he was trying to take one chance, but since he knew it wasn’t going to work, he was no longer putting in the effort.
"..."
And just as he expected, Neremoth’s body twitched in annoyance.
Clearly, he was not buying his act, and as if to prove that, his claws extended.
Nullfang, an ability to cut the very concept of defense, an attack that would tear Nux’s body into two pieces.
Neremoth pounced on Nux, but...
Nux had already moved away.
"Tsk."
Of course, this didn’t mean Nux was satisfied with the outcome.
He looked behind, his eyes easily piercing through the curtain of darkness and stared at the new Balance of Energy he had created—or more accurately, was in the middle of creating.
One more minute...
That was all he needed to assimilate the Laws he absorbed into his Universe and form a new balance, completing his Universe.
Yes, that was what he was doing all this while. Because he was ’trapped’ inside Neremoth’s Domain, giving him all the ’control,’ it allowed Nux to focus on everything he absorbed.
He was invincible in his Universe anyways. Even if he actually died, he could easily be reborn without any conditions. It was an ability similar but far better than Neremoth’s Hollow Rebirth. After all, unlike a mere racial ability, this came from a complete Law.
Anyways, the plan was to keep Neremoth occupied. Because of the Darkness Born’s memories, Nux knew of Neremoth’s sadistic personality. If he gave him ’control,’ Nux knew he would try to play around.
All Nux needed to do was scream every now and then while he moved all his focus into assimilating the Laws and completing the Universe.
And the plan was working well...
But...
Because most of Nux’s focus was on his Universe, he acted a little too much and moved when he shouldn’t have.
"Tsk, this is what happens when you aim for perfection.
My acting was so good that I even forgot that I shouldn’t be moving."
He sighed as he shook his head in disappointment.
Soon, however, a question popped up in his mind.
"Wait, if I forgot the restrictions I had, does this make me a bad actor?"
He wondered, but once again, he shook his head.
"Nah, that makes no sense.
The restrictions were just too dumb to make sense.
How could I be wrong?"
Since it was a convincing argument, Nux nodded to himself, easing all the doubts he had in his mind.
Of course, while he was doing all this, he was constantly dodging Neremoth’s ’Claws of Nothingness’ like they truly were nothing.
And Neremoth...
"How...
HOW!?"
He was losing his mind.
Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh
He moved his claw again and again, using all his speed and might to try and catch Nux.
But nothing worked.
Nux’s reflexes were simply out of Neremoth’s league. In a place where he could move with his Will alone, just a thought was more than enough for him to avoid all of Neremoth’s attacks.
And Neremoth...
"HOW ARE YOU MOVING!?
YOU SHOULDN’T BE ABLE TO MOVE!!
I TOOK YOUR MOVEMENT!!
I TOOK YOUR POWERS!!
IT IS THE LAW OF THE UNIVERSE THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEFEATED BY ME!!"
He couldn’t believe what was happening.
Nux shouldn’t even be able to see him, let alone dodge his attacks—nothing made sense!
Neremoth could feel it.
He was losing.
What’s worse?
He was losing to a Primordial!
"AAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!"
He screamed in rage.
WHOOOSH
Oblivion Ray, a beam of condensed despair that consumes energy, hope, and willpower—those struck with it feel their bodies crumbling before the ray physically reaches them.
BOOOOM
Dreadwake Pulse, a black shockwave released from Neremoth’s chest, slows down time for enemies caught inside while making their thoughts echo endlessly, leading to emotional paralysis.
The Eternal from the Supreme World of Darkness used every single attacking ability he had to hurt, but...
It was already too late.
Nux now knew everything there was to know about the Trueborns of Darkness. He knew how their abilities worked, he knew how to avoid them, he even knew the tactics these Trueborns normally use and are taught.
He knew it all.
What’s worse was that Neremoth’s Law wasn’t helping him either.
Usually, Trueborns of Darkness use their Laws to differentiate themselves from each other. Their Laws give them powers different from that of their racial abilities.
But...
Neremoth’s Law of Absolute Eclipse simply strengthened his racial abilities, making them much more efficient than normal.
It was an efficient method. Instead of coming up with something new, he decided to improve what was already considered perfect. When he first formed and displayed his Law, it caused so much stir that his Law was actually studied by other Trueborns.
The knowledge of his Law was added to their basic education that has constantly been improving for trillions of years.
It was said even Lord Infinity looked into it.
It was Neremoth’s greatest honor, something he flaunts to this day, but...
Today, his prided Law became a weakness.
After all, because of the power of his Law being such common knowledge in the Supreme World of Darkness, the Darkness Trueborns Nux had devoured knew about it as well, giving Nux all the information he needed to come up with a perfect way to counter Neremoth.
Every ability he used, no matter how enhanced, was still the same racial ability at its core, making it possible for Nux to dodge them without many difficulties.
"Haaahh..."
Nux sighed.
Since he once again had to focus on the fight, the time he needed to complete his Universe rose up again.
It was something Nux couldn’t afford. After all, Sharnoth was still outside—he needed to help her, and he needed to do it as fast as possible.
He needed to do something that would allow him to spend more of his focus on his Universe and less on the mad dog in front of him.
And the best way to do it?
Well, for now, Nux decided on the talk no jutsu.
Of course, this was his own version of talk no jutsu. Instead of trying to emotionally connect with the enemy, he insulted them.
"You are a fool."
He began, and in an instant, it worked.
"...Huh?"
Neremoth paused, dumbfounded.
"Law of the Universe? Did you forget who you were up against?"
He questioned, and Neremoth’s expression changed.
He slowly realized it.
The Anomaly...
He was up against the very existence that enraged the Universe so many times that it had become a common occurrence now.
"I am the being who breaks the so-called Law of the Universe as easily as breathing.
What made you think it would be different this time? Especially when you followed me here?"
Nux questioned as suddenly, he waved his hand and...
CRACK
Neremoth’s domain of Darkness cracked.
His eyes widened in surprise, unable to believe what just happened.
CRACK
The crack began to widen, giving birth to more and more cracks as time progressed, and soon—
BOOOM
Neremoth’s domain was crushed out of existence.
"W-Wha..."
He stood frozen, unable to even speak.
Nux, however, just grinned, as if mocking his opponent.
"W-Where is this place...?"
Neremoth questioned.
It was the same question he had been asking all this while, but this time, Nux decided to answer.
"It is my Domain."
"Y-Your Domain...?"
"A place where I am absolute.
A place where all Laws belong to me.
A place where no other domain is effective.
A place where I am at my strongest."
Nux’s voice echoed throughout the universe, coming from all sides.
"H-How can a Primordial have a Domain...?"
Neremoth questioned, and at those words, a small smile appeared on Nux’s face,
"Do you... still believe I am a Primordial?"
"W-What...?"
Neremoth’s eyes widened, and soon, he realized it.
It all made sense now...
This being...
H-He...
He was never a Primordial...
He...
"T-Then what are you...?"
Neremoth questioned carefully.
"A being who has a Domain that is an entirely different world on its own.
What do you think I am?"
Nux questioned with a laugh, and Neremoth’s eyes widened in disbelief and horror.
"A-A d-different w-world...?"
He stuttered.
Nux then pointed at Umbrasol, the very center of his Universe, and when Neremoth turned towards it, he saw hundreds of thousands of dark entities living inside that world, and he froze in absolute horror.
A-A Domain that is a Separate World...
A-An Infinity!!
The Eternal from the Supreme World of Darkness felt his entire world falling apart—a complete mental breakdown,
And while he stood frozen, looking back at the foolishness of trying to go against an Infinity...
Nux focused on his Universe, and finally—
BOOOOOOOM
An explosion of light was heard. Nux’s dark, colorless Universe finally gained color.
The new, complete Balance was set—all Ten Primordial Energies forming a perfect, balanced environment, an environment where ’Life’ can be born, live, die, and reincarnate.
Yes, after an absurdly long journey,
Nux’s Universe was now complete.
