Chapter 2195: Imagine how fun that would be~
"Alright, on my mark, you grab me and toss me like your life depends on it—
Because it very much does."
Vexarion gulped and nodded again.
Sharnoth was still a few meters away, dancing slowly in circles, humming an eerie tune that only she could dance to.
"Now,"
Nux commanded, and then—
Vexarion moved.
Fwoosh
The golden light surged around his arms, his muscles tightened, his strength returning for the first time in what felt like centuries.
He then grabbed Nux by the back of his collar and—
"Throw me straight,"
Nux murmured, his tone almost teasing.
"And don’t look back."
Vexarion didn’t question it again either. He moved as he was told with only one thought in his mind.
Escape.
He swung his arm forward with all the power he could muster and hurled Nux through the grey air.
FWOOOOSH
Nux shot like a comet of golden energy, straight towards Sharnoth.
The Chaos Heir turned, sensing movement—
"Huh?"
And the next instant, her crimson eyes widened in surprise.
She tried to react, but with Nux suppressing his presence and increasing his speed at the very last moment, she was a tad bit too late and—
CRASH
Nux collided right into her, knocking her off her feet. They both tumbled into the ashen ground, a wave of chaos energy and golden sparks erupting around them.
"Wha—Nux!?"
Sharnoth gasped as they rolled, her arms flailing.
"What are you doing!?"
Nux groaned dramatically, his voice muffled as he intentionally didn’t move away.
"Sorry! Lost my balance!
Are you alright?"
"You... lost your balance...?"
Sharnoth blinked at those words.
Just... what does he even mean by that?
"You crashed onto me! What do you mean you lost your balance!?"
"He threw me at you!"
Nux shifted all the blame on Vexarion, and Sharnoth...
"He...?"
She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
He...?
Vexarion?
Throwing Nux away...?
What in the...
While she thought about how ridiculous it all sounded, she tried to move him away from her and free herself, but when she did—her expression changed.
Nux...
Nux wasn’t moving at all.
"Move!"
She hissed, shoving him with both hands as she used even more strength.
"You’re heavy!"
The Chaos Heir complained.
"See? This is why I told you to eat more,"
Nux commented, still not moving. When it came to pure physical strength, in the entire Universe, there weren’t many beings left who could overpower him, and Sharnoth, unfortunately—or fortunately in this situation—wasn’t one of them.
If he did not want it, the woman could not move him no matter what she tried.
"Eat more...?"
On the other side, Sharnoth was now even more confused.
Eat...?
Was this a problem that could be solved with just eating?
And when did he ever tell her to eat more? Why was he straight-up lying in this situation!?
Just... what was this man thinking...?
This was probably the first time Sharnoth was the one trying to understand the one she was dealing with and not the other way around.
Meanwhile, a few meters away—
Vexarion saw his chance.
The moment Nux collided with Sharnoth, the air trembled, and her chaotic energy scattered for a brief instant. Seeing her struggling while Nux was on top of her made her look like... just another being in the Universe and not the monster she had become in his mind.
And that alone was huge.
The fear that had seeped into his very mind, chaining his entire body, was now crumbling, allowing him to move, and right now, that was all Vexarion wanted.
Without hesitation, the Aurendor Progenitor turned and—
Flap
A pair of black wings spread open behind him with bright golden energy flaring around him, and the next instant, Vexarion bolted into the air, his form shifting into a streak of dark golden brilliance that moved at a pace not many Eternals could match.
At a pace far higher than Vexarion’s normal speed because this time, he was giving his all. No, not just his all—he had already pushed himself beyond his limits, moving at high speed even if it meant hurting or permanently damaging his body.
An hour.
That was all he had.
And he was going to use it the best he could.
The plan was the same as when he first came to this place—he didn’t recognize where he was, and none of the communication artifacts or relics were working.
So there was only one way out—
Move until he found a region or a world he recognized.
Vexarion was an Eternal who had lived for millions of years. Even though he hadn’t explored all of the Universe, he still knew his way around... a lot of the Universe.
He was sure that even if he was in an unknown void, the more he moved, he would eventually find something familiar—
And once he reached that point and got the coordinates of wherever he was—the return journey would be easy.
Not just that, once he returned, he wouldn’t just be returning, he would be returning with the information regarding the Anomaly and the Chaos Heir. That information alone would be enough for him to seek the protection of the Supreme World of Light or even Lady Seraphielle herself.
The more he thought about it, the wider his smile became.
Hope.
He could see the light of hope. His mind, that had collapsed, had finally started to recover. Now, he didn’t just wish to survive, he wanted to... thrive.
But then—
"Nux, move! He’s running away!"
Behind him, he heard Sharnoth’s angry voice.
In an instant, his thoughts collapsed as he momentarily froze, but then—
"I’m trying!"
He heard the Anomaly’s voice, a voice that seemed like it was in strong pain.
"You’re thrashing too much!"
And that voice brought Vexarion back.
Another being was fighting for him; he couldn’t possibly falter here because if he did...
It would be the end—or the beginning of that hellish nightmare.
With that thought terrorizing his entire body, Vexarion moved, pushing his body to the extreme as he flew away.
The last thing he heard was Sharnoth’s loud "GET OFF!" but this time, he didn’t dare look back.
In his mind, he paid one final tribute to the Anomaly for helping him while he himself disappeared with the news of the true enemy the Light had to worry about.
Sharnoth Nocthys, the Heir of Chaos.
...
Back in the grey, empty world—
"NUX!
GET OFF ME!!"
Sharnoth roared, her crimson eyes shining in rage as she saw Vexarion’s figure disappearing from her view, but Nux...
He didn’t move.
Instead, he pushed himself even further, pressing both their bodies into the ground. Sharnoth tried to resist, thrashing wildly, trying to free herself, but no matter what she did, it simply did not work; against Nux, even she was helpless.
And Nux...
He grinned and began teasing.
"You’re stronger than this, you know."
His hands didn’t stay in one place either. He would be a fool to let go of this opportunity. His hands had already begun moving inside her clothes, firmly holding her smooth back and pressing her body against his chest.
"Shut up!"
Sharnoth growled, still thrashing beneath him.
"He’s getting away!"
"It’s fine."
Nux whispered softly as he brought his lips near her ear. For a moment, that action froze Sharnoth as she felt a strange chill running down her spine.
It wasn’t fear...
It was something else...
Something Sharnoth had never felt before.
But that foreign feeling did not stop Sharnoth—not when the enemy she hated her entire life was running away.
"Nux, I need to catch hi—"
"Didn’t you say you wanted to repair your toy?"
Suddenly, Nux asked a question.
"What...?"
Sharnoth paused.
"Weren’t you bored because your toy broke? I am merely helping you repair it."
"Repair it...?"
Sharnoth blinked again, more confused than before.
Nux laughed at that, then he flicked her forehead lightly and—
"Where are we?"
He asked.
"In your Universe..."
Sharnoth answered in a low voice.
"Then where do you think he can escape to?"
Nux asked, and in an instant—Sharnoth’s expression changed.
She... she had completely forgotten about it.
Nux had already devoured Vexarion; he couldn’t escape no matter how desperately he wanted to. He was already in Nux’s Universe. Even if he ran for billions of years, moving trillions and trillions of light years away from them—he still wouldn’t be able to escape.
Nux would be able to find him no matter where he was. Heck, he didn’t even need to find him, because Nux was now Vexarion’s anchor. He just needed to will it, and it wouldn’t matter how much distance Vexarion had covered or where he was right now—he would appear right in front of them.
Vexarion was trapped—trapped inside a net he was completely helpless against.
All his efforts, everything he was doing and would do after this—it was all useless.
Then...
"Why did you let him go...?"
Sharnoth tilted her head in confusion.
"To give him hope."
Nux answered with a demonic grin.
"What...?"
"Your toy was broken, correct? What we needed to repair wasn’t its physical body—that was just fine. We needed to repair its mind.
We needed to give him hope.
Hope that he can leave, hope that he can still escape this nightmare.
Let him run for the next few days; the farther he goes, the more strongly he will believe that he has successfully escaped.
And once that happens—"
Nux’s grin then widened even further.
"We will appear in front of him again."
Then, the man finally looked into Sharnoth’s eyes and—
"Imagine how fun that would be~"
