Chapter 2218: Maybe... they do need to make the equation more... fun.
"You are adding more variables to your little equation."
Ul’Thakar spoke directly, not liking how his control over the situation was getting weaker and weaker, but Orravyn—
The Entity of Eternity didn’t seem to care, his tone just became even more amused and—
"The more the variables, the more complex the equation, and the more complex it is—
The more fun it will be to solve.
Don’t you think?"
"Fun to solve...?"
Ul’Thakar raised his eyebrows at those words as he slowly glanced at the other two Infinities, who were looking back at him with similar expressions.
This was the problem between the four of them.
Because they had been together for trillions and trillions of years, they knew each other well; their thoughts were... scarily similar.
This was also the reason most of their discussions headed in a single direction since nothing needed to be explained very thoroughly but...
But when even one of them got off course, or stated something the others did not want stated—
Things changed.
Just like now.
First the Seer and now the Fifth Infinity... seeking their ’help’ was a... complicated matter. It was not amusing in the slightest, so when Eternity was ’amused’ by the situation—
Questions must be raised.
What was he planning?
Because he was definitely planning something; every single one of them knew that because every single one of them had a plan of their own, even in this situation—no, especially in this situation.
And while none of their plans were sticking out because none of them was ’acting out’, Eternity seemed... different.
He seemed to be thinking... something far more complicated than what he was letting on and to add more ’variables’ into this situation...
This only made the Infinities doubt him even more.
Why add more people?
What was he thinking?
Who had he... allied himself with?
Or maybe... it was the Anomaly himself?
Yes, the Infinities were even considering that possibility and they weren’t foolish to consider it. They knew Eternity and the Anomaly could not be permanent allies, but the same could not be said about a temporary alliance.
Heck, even they would deviate to the Anomaly’s side if they could see how it benefitted them and did not hurt them in the long run, so expecting that from Eternity was not surprising.
But of course, they also knew that even if they asked about it, Eternity wouldn’t say anything. If anything, it would give him more insight into their thoughts, something they did not wish to happen.
But Eternity wasn’t done.
He...
He still had another variable in his mind that he hadn’t added yet.
"And if we are making it so... fun."
Suddenly, Orravyn began, once again attracting everyone’s attention.
"Why not take it another step further?"
He asked.
All three Infinities could already imagine the wide grin he must have on his face right now, a grin all three of them found repulsive, but none said anything, letting him continue—
"Let’s add that monster too."
Orravyn spoke, and this time, Ul’Thakar couldn’t hold himself back.
"Have you lost your mind!?"
He raised his voice.
"Come on, what’s with the strong reaction?"
Orravyn feigned ignorance.
"Strong reaction!? A child who has never once interacted with him is calling me out for my strong reaction?"
"This is why I am doing this, isn’t it?
I never once interacted with him; I feel so left out whenever you talk about him.
Shouldn’t you give me a chance to interact with him? Please, please?"
Orravyn requested cutely and Ul’Thakar... he didn’t know how to react. He was boiling with rage, but he knew too much of an overreaction would only hurt him later.
But he also knew this couldn’t go on, and fortunately—Equarios was with him.
"Orravyn, you do not understand what you are talking about."
The Entity of Balance spoke in a solemn tone. Obviously, he too had no intention of adding that ’monster’ into this.
But Orravyn—
"I do."
He answered.
"His Heir is now the Anomaly’s ally, is she not? Don’t you think he must have something to say about this?
I... feel that he has a... strong connection with the Anomaly."
Orravyn’s tone then became much more mysterious and—
"Stronger than what any of us are thinking."
He added, making the others narrow their eyes.
Was it... a hint?
Was Eternity trying to tell them something they did not know?
But...
Why would he give them a hint?
If it was something he wanted to share, he would have done it directly. He wouldn’t be talking in riddles like this.
Was he... amused?
Was he doing it because he was enjoying this?
Or was he... trying to confuse them?
Again, the instant one of them went off script and mentioned something none of them was expecting, suspicions, paranoia, doubts — it all became stronger.
Now, every word said became a sign, something to be pondered. It was exhausting, and if Eternity was just playing with them, then he was succeeding but...
Despite knowing that—
The Infinities could not take it lightly.
Adding Zylarith Chaosveil into the equation... it would not end well.
"Orravyn, that being thrives in chaos and in a situation as chaotic as this, he might...
He might even return."
Seraphielle spoke, her tone solemn too.
After all, like Balance and Darkness, she had faced that monster too. Someone like Orravyn wouldn’t know, but she... she was different.
But Orravyn didn’t stop.
"And you think if we do not... add him, he would not?"
He asked.
This time, his tone was no longer filled with amusement. He stared at the other three Infinities and—
"I am not the same child I was back then, stop treating me as such.
I understand what sort of existence Zylarith Chaosveil is.
He thrives in chaos, an unpredictable being who, despite having lost the battle against four Infinities, is a being that cannot be ignored — a being whom the Universe considers dead, but a threat who could return at any moment—
That is Zylarith Chaosveil.
A bomb that could detonate at any moment and destroy every plan we have made. The chances of this bomb detonating during chaotic times become even higher and unfortunately—
Right now,
It is the same chaotic times that we are wary of.
Times when the Chaos Energy in the Universe is at its strongest, when the entire Universe is plunged into uncertainty,
This is the time when Zylarith Chaosveil would thrive the most, the time when the chances of his return are at the highest.
And..."
Orravyn turned silent for a moment as he stared at the other three Infinities and—
"I would rather it happens right in front of my eyes than without me knowing it."
He spoke, and for a moment, the other Infinities turned silent.
Those words made sense; they wouldn’t deny it but...
"Zylarith cannot appear out of nowhere."
Equarios began.
"He needs... even we do not know what he needs in order to return.
What we do know, however, is the fact that even now, even after trillions and trillions of years have passed, his soul exists; he hasn’t perished.
He is still moving around, avoiding the Universe’s gaze and planning something. He has conducted millions of experiments throughout the Universe during this time—
One doesn’t do that if they do not have a plan—a plan they could follow and... win.
If we call him, we give him a platform and...
While that in itself is not threatening, when we are dealing with an existence as... complicated as Zylarith, making even the slightest wrong move would... force us to pay a huge price.
Your mother paid the same price too."
The Entity of Balance spoke, looking at Eternity, thinking that these words might affect him but—
"His Heir was involved with the Anomaly. I refuse to believe that is a coincidence.
Zylarith Chaosveil already has a platform; if he has a plan, he will return.
I just... do not wish to cower in his presence like you lot do."
He spoke bravely and this time, his words got a reaction out of all three Infinities at the same time.
"What... did you say...?"
Ul’Thakar asked, his tone not pleasant.
Equarios and Seraphielle were no different; all three Infinities stared at the fourth one and—
"Do not overstep your bounds, Orravyn Eternity.
Even your Mother wouldn’t have dared to speak the words you just said."
"..."
Orravyn turned silent.
While he could retort and say he was not like his mother, that would... escalate the matter. He would be excluded from any further discussions, driving a wedge between the Supreme World of Eternity and the other Supreme Worlds — giving the Anomaly exactly what he wants, just in another way than what he was expecting.
So in the end—
"What I am saying is, let’s offer an invitation to all the beings I mentioned, a simple call for help.
For now, the enemy is the Anomaly, and we need every single piece of information about him that we can get.
As for the rest—
How about we deal with it after dealing with the Anomaly?"
He spoke calmly and this time... the three Infinities turned silent—considering Eternity’s words seriously.
Maybe... they do need to make the equation more... fun.
