Chapter 1152: Is this a wipe?
Chapter 1152: Is this a wipe?
“Look for a clue, I’ll try to delay him for a while.”
Lucinda once again rushed to intercept the boss, who was rapidly approaching them.
The crack in the sky gave her a bad feeling.
Boom!
The shockwave from the clash between Lucinda and the Boss swept across the entire square, forcing the rest of the group to look for new clues.
As time passed, Lucinda began to tire, losing ground in the battle, while the Boss seemed to grow stronger.
With every passing second, the number of cracks in the sky increased and expanded.
“We’re missing something,” Irene thought feverishly, trying to put all the details together.
She understood that this was just a Simulation, and the dungeon should have its own logical way to defeat the Boss. Otherwise, it would be illogical.
“Ordinary Platinum-ranked creatures should have a way to defeat Diamond-ranked ones.”
Almost everyone shared her thoughts, but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t find a solution.
“Maybe we need to activate the runes somehow?” — someone suggested, and everyone paid attention to the mysterious symbols in their hands.
Runes that appeared to those who fulfilled all the conditions inside the gate and were able to remove the seal.
It sounded reasonable, but how to do it remained unclear.
However, everything changed when there was a loud bang.
A giant hole appeared in the sky, from which a black vortex of darkness poured into the square.
“Is this a wipe?” — a thought flashed through everyone’s mind.
As if confirming their fears, the First Guardian stopped and began to laugh loudly, as if mocking their futile attempts, waiting for the whirlwind to engulf them all.
When it seemed that everything was lost and there was no more hope, a ray of light suddenly appeared, which rushed towards the vortex of darkness and, crashing into it, stopped it.
A dome of light appeared, which covered most of the area. The vortex of darkness, hitting the dome, began to spread around, engulfing the city and most of the army of Lord of the Dead, who were outside the dome along with a wave of monsters.
“Is that… Lucinda?” — Irene and the others couldn’t believe their eyes as they watched a lone figure with four shining wings stop the whirlwind of darkness.
For them, the appearance of the vortex was a harbinger of the end of mechanics and imminent destruction. But for Lucinda, this whirlwind was just another obstacle in her path.
The dome of light trembled under the onslaught of the vortex of darkness, and cracks began to appear on it.
This became a new signal, and two beams of light shot out from the group below into the sky.
One of them was a Valkyrie with two light and two dark wings. The second was a human—like creature, but with a height of two and a half meters with long blond hair, behind which two wheels of light rotated.
Milena and Ned did not stay away, supporting Lucinda’s desire to buy time for the whole group.
Lucinda’s action resonated with Soul Queen, and she turned her gaze to the boss still standing in the distance.
After a moment’s pause, she said, “We’ll put everything on one strike!”
“I can strengthen one person’s soul by putting all my might into it, thereby bringing the power of a single blow to the Diamond rank.”
Everyone was shocked by Soul Queen’s statement.
“Under normal circumstances, it could greatly harm the soul and weaken this person. But since we are in a simulation, I am sure that the consequences will not be so serious.”
Ignoring their stares, she looked around the room again.
“The question is, who is willing to take the risk with me?”
Most of them involuntarily turned their gazes to Lord of the Dead.
“No, the boss is strong, of course, but his abilities are best shown in dealing with a crowd, not for one powerful blow,” one of the members of Lord of the Dead’s team quickly rejected his candidacy.
“Indeed,” the rest of the team agreed. “Fuck, if Oneshot were alive, he would be perfect for this role. But, damn him, he managed to die.”
There was silence in the air, during which Arslan looked at Irene. Noticing his gaze, she hesitated slightly and was about to shake her head, but stopped.
“Come on, guys, time is running out,” Soul Queen urged. “Who has a powerful ability or element that can break through the protection of darkness?”
“What, no one?” Soul Queen blinked in surprise.
Most shook their heads, unsure of their abilities and fearing that if they failed, they would let everyone down.
“I can,” Irene said after a bit of conflict.
She was trembling slightly.
She wasn’t afraid of the possible consequences of damaging her soul. She wasn’t afraid of her boss. She was afraid of her power, which she was going to use herself for the first time.
Element of Void.
“Great,” with these words, Soul Queen hurried over to Irene. “We will take action. The rest of you, get ready to stop and hold the boss in place.”
“All right,” everyone agreed and started preparing.
Arslan approached Irene and asked anxiously:
“Are you sure?”
Irene forced a smile, which showed some uncertainty.:
“To be honest, no. But I don’t want to give up and I’m willing to take the risk.”
“I believe in you, you can do it,” Arslan encouraged before joining the others.
His words gave Irene the support she needed.
Soul Queen stood behind Irene and, placing both hands on her back, began to pour her power.
“This is…” exclaimed Soul Queen, surprised at how strong and capacious Irene’s soul turned out to be. But she quickly pulled herself together and, no longer afraid, increased the flow of her strength.
The more she poured in, the more confident she felt that it could work.
Irene felt a huge force pouring into her Soul Space.
She closed her eyes, sighed, raised her slightly trembling hands, and for the first time since her breakthrough to the Platinum rank, she tried to summon her Element of Void.
