Chapter 1318: Don’t steal anything else here, okay?
Finding nothing, the Queen gave them another friendly smile and left them, accompanied by the King and her children.
The Prince and Princess periodically looked back in their direction while the Queen stopped and greeted other groups.
The discovery that the two people they looked down on and despised turned out to be earthlings caused all the elves to surge in curiosity and caution.
Only now did the elves of the seventh and eighth ranks pay attention to the oddities of Idan and Arabel, which had previously gone unnoticed due to their disdainful attitude. They could not even imagine that the earthlings would end up here in Magelia, in the heart of the Elven Kingdom.
After all, it was well known that earthlings appeared and disappeared, mostly only in Ludelia, on the human continent.
Severin turned his gaze to Milica.
“When were you going to tell me about this?”
“Right now,” Milica replied with a smile, as if she had been waiting for this moment.
Severin rubbed his right temple and took a seat at his disciples’ table. Idan and Arabel returned to their seats, but now Saelis and the other disciples of Lavena and Renar looked at them differently.
“And why are you called earthlings?” — Saelis addressed them first. “Is it because you live underground?”
Arabel turned her gaze to her husband. After receiving an affirmative nod from Idan, she turned back around.
“No,” she said, “we are not called Earthlings because we live underground, and this has nothing to do with the Earth element. It’s just that the planet we live on is called Earth.”
Arabel paused, and then took out her smartphone from her spatial ring and activated it.
“Hmm… the charge is more than half,” she muttered, and under the astonished gazes of the elves, she found the saved map of the old Earth and showed it.
However, the elves were not so much interested in the contents of the map as in the smartphone itself.
“What is it?” one of the young elves pointed out.
“Oh, this? It’s called a smartphone,” Arabel replied, “it’s our personal device, similar to your adventurer plate.”
“By the way, I have one too,” Eulalia added, keeping up the conversation, and took out her smartphone, which she received during her stay on Earth.
Her smartphone had a variety of entertainment apps, movies, music tracks, and books that Leo had downloaded for her.
With Eulalia’s support, Arabel quickly joined the conversation.
Noticing this, Idan didn’t bother her, but instead he looked around.
The Queen was still present and occupied a significant part of the attention.
Several elves were looking in their direction, or rather, at the smartphones that Arabel and Eulalia were showing.
Taking advantage of this, Idan mentally addressed:
“Coco, are you here? Show yourself!”
He looked around for chanterelle, but nothing happened until something tugged at his leg. He looked down and saw her.
A scoundrel actively wagging her tail. She had a backpack on her back and a bitten exotic fruit in her paws. She was actively chewing, and the juice was running down her cheek, and joyful eyes were looking at him.
No one else had seen her.
The corners of Idan’s mouth twitched at the sight of that pleased face.
Of course, no one else had seen her.
“Coco,” — Idan called through a mental link.
“Coco is listening,” she replied in a little girl’s voice.
Idan blinked in surprise.
“Have you learned how to talk?”
“Huh? What?” — Coco tilted her head, blinking in confusion.
Idan slapped his forehead.
Coco did not learn to talk; she began to express her thoughts more clearly.
“Coco,” Idan began in a serious tone, — “please be attentive and listen to me. Don’t steal anything else here, okay?”
The fox froze. She even stopped chewing and stared at Idan with wide eyes, as if he had betrayed her.
“But, Master… Coco wants yummy treats,” she said, puffing out her cheeks.
“Oh, you have a sweet tooth,” Idan thought, but there was a smile on his face from emotion and how clearly Coco was expressing her thoughts now. “If you promise not to steal anything here, I will increase your purchase quota by one more candy.”
“Really?” asked Coco, and her resentment was instantly replaced by joy.
“Really,” — Idan nodded, noticing how strangely the elves were looking at him.
“Ahem,” he cleared his throat and straightened up.
“The master is the best. Coco loves the master,” Coco began to bounce happily. Then she stopped, took off her backpack, after putting the half-eaten fruit next to it, and pulled out a stack of photographs, which she handed to Idan.
Idan looked at the photos in her little paws, then at Coco’s expectant gaze and accepted them.
Coco, satisfied, threw her backpack on her back, bit into the fruit and galloped away.
Idan didn’t follow her, distracted by the photos in his hands.
They depicted female elves, including the Queen. All of them were so skillfully shot that they conveyed their beauty, figures and charm well.
“No matter what you say, Coco is talented,” Idan said with a smile, putting the photos into his spatial ring.
Then he looked up and looked around for the fox cub, but there was no sign of her.
Idan felt strangely uneasy, as if he had missed something.
While he was trying to sort out his feelings, the Queen left the building with the King.
That left the Princess and the Prince.
And with the Queen’s departure, a Circle of Challenge began, which distracted Idan from his thoughts.
At the same time, a small fox appeared outside the circular structure. She took the last bite of the fruit, chewed it and swallowed, then licked her paws.
Then she turned to the building, listening to the sounds coming from there. Her gaze landed on the majestic Magic Tree, and below it, the equally majestic castle of the Queen.
Coco’s eyes lit up with excitement, and a smile of anticipation played on her face. A clear thought flashed through her mind:
“The master said not to steal anything here.”
