Chapter 648: The biggest mistake of his life
Chapter 648: The biggest mistake of his life
Watching him swallow the sweet again with the wrapper, Idan had an idea.
"Since Elira refuses, maybe it’s worth taming this dragon?" he thought.
However, this thought quickly disappeared as soon as Idan remembered the additional information he had received from the Identification Eye.
"This dragon has parents, brothers and sisters who are worried about him," he thought.
Still holding the dragon in his arms, Idan asked Milica,
"How long have I been unconscious?"
"About two days: one day in your world and a little more than one day here," Milica replied. And, smiling, she added: "Don’t worry, your wedding is still a week away."
"Phew... Good," Idan thought with relief when he found out that he still had time.
He carefully examined his spatial ring and discovered a uniform that had been badly damaged during his battle with the Valkyries, but had managed to recover during that time.
Idan couldn’t remember exactly when the protection put in by the creator of the uniform was activated, which was supposed to protect him from being hit by a Diamond-ranked creature.
"Maybe it worked right away, on the first hit," Idan suggested, considering that he was fighting against four Diamond-ranked Valkyries back then.
After securing the bracelet on his arm, he activated it, materializing the uniform onto his body.
Before leaving the lava, he released the baby dragon, and it fell and sank into it. However, he soon surfaced and, staring at Idan, growled:
"Rrraa... Rraaa."
He was still demanding sweets.
"It’s over," Idan said, showing his empty palm as he climbed out of the lava. But before he could get out, the baby dragon, like a hawk, rushed to him, grabbed his leg and began to bite, growling.
"Hey, hey, it hurts, let go!" exclaimed Idan, trying to shake him off. But the dragon was so strong that he wasn’t going to let go.
"That bastard!" — Idan cursed, realizing that he had made the biggest mistake of his life. "I shouldn’t have given him candy."
Idan nevertheless pulled out another piece of candy and showed it to the dragon. He immediately calmed down and did not take his eyes off the candy.
Idan, without thinking twice, threw the candy towards the lava. The dragon finally let go of his leg, jumped for the candy and, to Idan’s surprise, managed to catch it.
While the dragon was busy, Idan took advantage of the moment to open an Access Portal and returned to the Kingdom with Milica.
When the dragon turned around, he no longer saw either Idan or Milica. In surprise, the candy fell out of his mouth and burned in the lava.
Seeing this, the dragon tried to hold on, but eventually began to cry.
At the same time, two pairs of massive eyes opened in the center of the Lava Lake, and several dozen more pairs of eyes lit up all over the surface of the lake.
The lava lake began to tremble, and at the same time, Elira, who was in the middle of the Forbidden Zone and was enjoying the riot of the fiery element, was stared at by many powerful creatures, scaring her to death.
And the culprit of all this returned to the Kingdom and first of all, using his powers, searched for Arabel, but, to his surprise, he could not find her.
"She’s not here?" he muttered, looking up at the evening sky in the Kingdom.
"Idan, you should return to the Lava Lake later," Milica reminded. "There’s that girl, Elira, besides the two of us."
"Elira?" wondered Idan. "What is she doing at the Lava Lake... No, wait, how did she get into Limbo in the first place?"
"She helped with your treatment, and in exchange Arabel helped her get into Limbo at her request..." With that, Milica quickly told Idan what he had missed.
"Has Sierra taken on the Spirit Form a here in the Kingdom?" he asked.
"Yes, and you won’t believe how amazing her phenomenon turned out to be, coupled with the uniqueness of your territory," Milica smiled, continuing to share information.
"Mom and Anna have awakened an affinity with the element of Darkness..." muttered Idan, not believing his ears.
Milica didn’t have time to share all the information with Idan, including the news about Lina, as people came out of the house, noticing their arrival.
Inessa, after days of worry, finally saw Idan safe and sound. She hurried to hug him. "Idan, thank God you’re okay," she said, hugging him tightly. "Although everyone assured me that you were fine, I couldn’t sleep properly."
Idan looked at his birth mother and did not know what to say to her. From her words, he understood that Arabel and the others had been hiding his condition from the others, and he was grateful to them for that.
He also paid attention to Yvette and noticed that she was also worried about him.
"As you can see, I’m fine," Idan assured, forcing a smile. "I’ve been busy with some things for the last few days and have just returned."
Seeing that his words had calmed his family down a little, Idan decided to ask:
"Where’s Belle?"
"She just left for the Capital," Anna replied to her future son—in-law, also glad that he was safe and sound. "She said she had unfinished business there."
"Unfinished business?" asked Idan, frowning.
But, remembering the upcoming wedding, he also thought of one person.
"Is this unfinished business related to Christopher?" he asked himself, without voicing his assumption.
Idan was convinced that he was right, and Arabel left to finish her business with Christopher.
At this moment, he was still connected to Limbo, and after checking, he made sure that his teleportation ability was ready for use.
"If anything, I can come back at any time.", — Idan thought with relief.
But then something happened that immediately caught his attention and made him forget about everything he had just been thinking about.
After so many days, Idan finally felt a response from his First Star.
A part of Ned’s soul, which had been recovering all this time and had not shown any activity, finally showed signs of life. Idan clearly felt Ned’s soul begin to awaken.
