Chapter 662: They’re not human, they’re monsters!

Ned and Bera, who are targeting Creatures from other worlds who maintain the barrier, were the first to encounter resistance from the Awakened Ones.

At this stage of the world’s growth, the number of Awakened Ones with a Rare System was small, and most of the Awakened Ones were Ordinary System holders who only developed the Path of Mastery.

It so happened that most of the Awakened Ones gathered now were the owners of Ordinary Systems.

And among the few Awakened Ones of the Rare System, there were none of the Heroes of the Federation and the Leaders of the famous Guilds.

Awakened from Ordinary Systems, deprived of the ability to use mana, could only rely on their aura, which made them primarily melee fighters.

However, for Ned and Bera, who copied the Bloodlines of their Masters and possessed an extensive arsenal of techniques and spells, the Awakened of Ordinary Systems did not pose a serious threat.

The first Awakened Ones they met along the way were the least fortunate.

Ned and Bera did not possess the inherent humanity of humans and did not realize the value of human life in general.

As it was said, they spared no one who stood in their way. Ned and Bera used all their might against them without a trace of regret, taking their lives one by one.

Anyone who came into Ned and Bera’s field of vision was affected by their [Madness Gaze – Level 3]. For a moment, the victims froze, allowing Ned and Bera to attack them. These attacks were ruthless, leaving them with no chance of survival.

The skillful use of [Madness Creating – Level 3] allowed the two doppelgangers to create a variety of murder weapons from the Energy of Madness, which one by one took the lives of the Awakened.

The real carnage began.

A massacre that this time was started simultaneously by two Insane Doppelgangers.

“No, please don’t kill me!” one of the Awakened screamed, but Bera, without flinching, cut off his head.

Their nature demanded it, and the more brutally they dealt with their opponents and the crazier they behaved, the stronger they became. Since there were many opponents and they had the permission of the Masters, Ned and Bera had no reason to hold back.

They used their abilities to their full potential, destroying anyone who dared to stand in their way.

“Ah, I don’t want to die!”

“No, no, no, no.”

“Please don’t…”

The desperate awakened ones had no time to beg for mercy, as they immediately fell silent, struck down by the new attack of the Doppelgangers.

Everything that was happening was caught on camera and broadcast online.

In less than a minute, all such broadcasts were turned off, blocked and deleted from the network.

The people who were at a distance from these two monsters, but had not yet had time to engage them in battle, saw this terrible scene and trembled in fear. Their feet seemed rooted to the ground, and they couldn’t move.

“They’re not human, they’re monsters!” someone among them said.

Some still managed to overcome their fear and, instead of trying to fight, began to run for their lives.

“Save yourself, they’re monsters, we’re no match for them!”

This time, Bera did not attack the fleeing ones, only casting her cold gaze at their backs. Idan had ordered her not to spare only those who stood in their way.

The shattered barrier of the Awakened Ones opened the way for Ned and Bera to their main goals — Creatures from other worlds, stronger opponents, whom they most longed to fight.

“Weaklings,” the Creature of Fire said with disdain, looking at the fleeing local cultivators.

Those Awakened Ones who, after listening to Idan’s words, retreated, looking at the brief moment of carnage where more than a dozen Awakened Ones like them died, were afraid, but also breathed a sigh of relief and rejoiced that they had listened to their own voice of reason.

Then their gaze fell on Idan, who had just started moving towards the barrier, leaving the two monsters to go ahead and clear the way for him.

At that moment, they also heard the sounds of the military and other services approaching the scene.

One by one, helicopters began to appear in the sky, illuminating the place of destruction and its surroundings with searchlights. They began to prepare for the attack, targeting Idan, Ned, and Bera.

“All strike forces — do not open fire! I repeat, to all strike forces, do not open fire!” — this order sounded simultaneously for all military personnel.

The military leadership, after seeing a short video showing the power of Ned and Bera, which got online, came to the conclusion that without the use of heavy weapons it would be difficult to cope with these monsters.

In addition, the situation in the busy center of the capital made it impossible to use force without first evacuating the population.

“All ground forces begin evacuating local residents,” came the order from the leadership.

From the roofs of the buildings that were left untouched by the Dragon, there was a beautiful view of the barrier and everything that was happening around it. There were several groups of military personnel and newly arrived Awakened Ones, among whom there were even Heroes of the Federation.

They looked at each other, but no one said a word.

All eyes were on Idan, who was attacked by several retreating Awakened Ones at that moment, thinking that he was the weakest and most important of the three.

Idan, ignoring the attackers, checked the timer and accelerated, targeting the Creature of Fire, which was currently blazing with bright flames.

The two wings of Idan’s Madness Energy disintegrated and began to transform into swords with the help of [Madness Creating – Level 3].

If earlier Idan could more or less control only ten swords at a time, now that his thoughts were focused only on achieving the goal and necessary actions, his control over his abilities increased significantly. The number of swords he controls has doubled.

Twenty swords in the colors of pink and purple danced around Idan, leaving long trails of madness energy in their wake. At great speed, they rushed towards the Awakened Ones who were aiming at him, getting in his way.

As Idan has accepted for himself, anyone who gets in his way will become an enemy that he has no intention of sparing.
