Chapter 692: Groom friends
Chapter 692: Groom friends
“Without its owner, the costume will not be able to reveal even half of its splendor,” said the Tailor, who always watched with joy as his creations found their new owners. This sight never bored him.
“Really, a great job,” Idan praised the Tailor once again, completely satisfied with the costume.
“Thank you very much for your service,” Idan said. “What about the uniform?”
“Take your time, I’ll give it to you later. Now go find your sister. She asked you to find her after you get your costume.”
“Hmm… okay,” — Idan nodded and, having once again examined himself in the mirror and posed, teleported to Irene with a satisfied smile.
“Idan,” Irene exclaimed, noticing his appearance. At that moment, she was standing in the company of Arslan and three other young men, discussing something.
“Wow, sister, you look amazing,” — Idan said, admiring his sister’s new outfit. Unlike Sierra, she was wearing an elegant dress in a delicate peach shade, her hair was professionally styled, and just like with Sierra, Idan noticed makeup on her face, which further emphasized her cold beauty.
“You’re not a bridesmaid?”
“No,” — Irene shook her head, smiling slightly. “Arabel already knows a lot of unmarried girls. What is the sheer number of her Valkyrie sisters worth.”
“That’s for sure,” Idan agreed with a chuckle.
“You look great yourself,” Irene remarked, unable to hide her admiration for his suit and the way it fit and accentuated his own beauty. At the same time, she couldn’t believe that this day had come so quickly and unexpectedly.
“I can’t believe you’re getting married already. But until recently, you were a completely different person, far from such thoughts,” Irene recalled the day that changed everything.
She remembered the morning when she came and woke him up by pouring water on him. In the evening, she watched as he and Arabel were sucked into a rift that teleported them to another world.
More than a year and a half has passed since then, and during that time her own life has changed in the most unexpected ways. She became the mother of a beautiful boy.
Thinking of her son, Irene looked at Arslan, who, to her surprise, was looking at her.
Irene couldn’t help but feel embarrassed when she noticed his gaze and affection for her. She tried not to betray her feelings, although a feeling of joy and satisfaction blossomed inside her.
“I can’t believe my sister is getting married either,” Arslan interjected, tearing his gaze away from Irene and looking at Idan. “Although, as a descendant of the Morgan family, I always knew that sooner or later she would be married off, but I always wished my sister only the best, and for her to choose her soulmate.”
“I am glad that you have become that person, Idan,” Arslan added.
“Thank you,” Idan thanked Arslan and only then turned his attention to the other three.
“Nemo,” he smiled when he saw his senior and champion. “I didn’t think that you would become a friend of the groom.”
“Persuaded,” Nemo replied directly through a mental link, adjusting his new suit, which was modeled after Arslan’s costume, but especially for him.
As always, Nemo wore a mask to hide his injury, but this time it was a snow-white faceless mask. Kitty, in the shape of a small kitten, was sitting comfortably on his shoulder, looking at Idan with her golden eyes.
For Nemo, the costume was new and a little unusual, but he liked it himself.
“Liam,” — Idan rejoiced, recognizing his next acquaintance, who was also dressed like Nemo and Arslan, which indicated that he had also agreed to become a friend of the groom.
“Unlike me, he volunteered,” Idan heard Nemo’s voice in his head.
“Because of the senior Eulalia?” asked Idan of Nemo.
“That’s right. As soon as Liam found out that Eulalia was ready to become a bridesmaid, and your sister came up to me to ask me to become a friend of the groom, explaining a little about the wedding traditions in your world, Liam, who was eavesdropping, volunteered himself before your sister could ask him.”
“As far as I understand, your sister wanted to ask him anyway.”
Idan made a note to himself so that he wouldn’t forget to thank his sister for her efforts later.
After greeting Liam, his gaze fell on the fourth young man with short black hair. He stood in silence the whole time, lowering his head, as if he was very shy.
“And you?” asked Idan, not recognizing him. When there was no answer, he turned to Irene and the others and noticed the smiles on the faces of his sister and Arslan.
“Who is this?” he asked.
“Take a closer look,” Arslan said, barely able to contain his laughter. “You know him.”
“Do I know him?” wondered Idan, and turned his attention back to the young man. He raised his head, revealing his face and blue eyes.
After seeing him, Idan, who was trying to remember all the young people he knew, felt that this image seemed familiar to him.
And when his thoughts accidentally turned to the memory of the fat man, and then he compared his image with this young man, his eyes widened in shock and disbelief.
“Leo?!” exclaimed Idan, which scared the guy. “It’s you, isn’t it? Leo?”
“Yes, it’s me,” Leo replied softly, looking down again.
“Damn it, it’s really you!”
“Even your voice has changed,— Idan remarked, further embarrassing Leo.
Leo’s voice used to be squeaky, but now it was clearer, but it still sounded a little feminine. It was unusual not only for Leo himself, who was used to his voice, but also for everyone who had heard his real voice at least once.
Leo turned from a fat man into a slender young man. His height was shorter than all the guys present, but not too small.
Without body fat, Leo looked pretty good-looking when he was awake.
Because of his embarrassment and behavior, he even looked a little like a girl.
“Arabel has a lot of candidates for the role of bridesmaids, and I don’t know how many there will be yet, but you won’t be alone, brother,” Irene said after Idan greeted everyone.
“At least you’ll have four groom friends,” she added.
“Thank you, Sister,” — Idan said. “Thank you for all your efforts. I won’t forget it.”
“We’re a family, so it goes without saying,” Irene replied, pleased with her brother’s reaction.
“It’s almost time, so it’s time for you to go meet the guests,” Irene reminded.
“Okay,” Idan nodded and then looked at his friends. “Shall we go?”
And everyone, even Leo, nodded in agreement with him.
Idan, using his power, teleported them all to the destination of the ceremony, to the very place that had been hidden under the impenetrable barrier all this time.
***
Idan appeared with the others, and glancing at the barrier that still prevented him from seeing what was behind it, he wasn’t sure if the preparations had been completed or not. Following the barrier itself, a small snow-white arch decorated with snow-white flowers caught everyone’s eye.
“Come in,” a gruff voice suddenly rang out from behind them. Turning around, Idan and the others saw a bald old man in fancy clothes.
“Everything is ready, so you can go in and check,” the old man said, pointing to the center of the arch.
Idan turned to the arch without asking any questions.
The passage in the center of the arch was completely dark, but subtle fluctuations in space could be seen. Knowing that the Hosts of other Supreme Systems, who had come to visit at the call of their own System, could not harm them and plot, Idan headed for the arch without hesitation. Without stopping, he stepped inside and disappeared.
Arslan and the others exchanged glances, fell back a bit and followed Idan, one by one entering the archway.
“This is…” Idan froze in place as soon as he crossed the threshold.
A completely different picture appeared before him, unlike what he had expected to see.
Idan found himself on a hilltop with a magnificent view of the magical nature: green forests, meadows, huge rivers, distant snow-capped mountains and several stars in the sky.
Turning around, he saw a familiar arch with a dark passage standing alone in a green clearing at the top of the hill. However, the barrier itself was no longer visible.
From the entrance of the arch, there was a snow-white path strewn with white flower petals, which led to a magnificent snow-white altar at the end.
Snow-white chairs for the guests were placed around the altar in a semicircle.
“This place reminds me of the evening when Belle and I had dinner by candlelight,” Idan thought, remembering another wonderful place they had once visited.
He assumed that this place, created by the Host of the Supreme System, was similar to that one, but specifically designed for today— the day of his wedding to Arabel.
